I would normally give armada 5 stars, but tonight made me angry. When your posted hours say 12 pm to 12 am, you should be open. I get Tampa Bay Comic con was this weekend. I understand the exhaustion involved with that. but when i drive an half hour to get the two paints i need for a commission based on the posted times, and then the three gentlemen who are in logo’d shirts sitting outside say«sorry, the registers are turned off, we are open at 3pm tomorrow.» I am understandably thinking that customer service is apparently not a priority. I used to work in a hobby shop, and at the very least i would have broken out the calculator and a piece of paper and inputted the sale the next day, but let the customer get their product. As said, i can understand the problem, i can understand the context. what I cannot understand is the customer service.

I have mixed feelings about this store. There are some MTG players that I knew from South Florida that highly recommended this shop for Magic The Gathering. Decided to check it out on a Saturday afternoon. The location is slightly shady and parking may seem to be a problem as all I could see was 2 rows in this tiny lot out front. None in the back which is a bit scary anyway. The store is right next to a laundromat that has maybe 15 parking spaces strictly reserved for the laundromat’s patrons. I’m not so sure of what the parking situation is at night when most MTG games are played. Inside of the store seemed small, like 4 tables for card players and 4 high tables for figurine players. For Magic the Gathering, they play Modern, almost never Legacy. However, I will give Armada Games a couple of tries before deciding it’ll be «my» store to go.

Great place! They have a very large selection of demo games that you can try out in store at one of their many game nights/days. This is a great chance to find something new to play. Their selection of tabletop games for purchase is one wall to the back of the store, which pales in comparison to their entire room of tables dedicated to game days. The best part? Their games are 20% off MSRP and they carry many games that you can’t find anywhere else. We’ve recently purchased a few games off of Amazon at great prices and some of Armada’s prices were even better. They even carry Cards Against Humanity with all of the expansions and promo packs, BUT they are marked up to double the retail price. Convenient if you want to buy it right now, but a big ding in the wallet. We will definitely be back!

Great gaming store. I’ve been into several games and they have either had what I needed or ordered it for me. The staff is helpful and try to do what’s best for the customer instead of just making a buck. I’m now into X-Wing Miniatures, they have walkedme through it, told me about the weekly game night’s, etc. Keep up the good work, especially your staff.

Armada Games is a great place to go to play Magic in Tampa. They have a good selection of RPG books, and a seemingly endless variety of boardgames. The employees also seem very knowledgeable about their inventory. One should be cautious though, for a foul stench sometimes lingers on Friday nights due to a lot of people not keeping their body odor under control.
