I love it here! My boyfriend and I come here every week. I’ve tried most of the menu, but now I always get the Miso Love Love sauce with either chicken or chopped beef with the mean greens side. It’s perfect, and for me it’s always two meals as I can never finish it in one sitting. Olivia and the rest of the staff is always super friendly, and we enjoy talking to them when it’s not busy. It is a tiny place, so seating may be an issue if it’s packed, but I’ve found that the tables turn quickly. I’ll be back there soon!

Alas, no alcohol. LOL. Good thing the food is amazing! This is a really casual down to earth place. It’s rustic industrial warehouse atmosphere makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a place in a back alley in Hong Kong or Taipei. I got a rice and pork bowl with greens Miso Love Love sauce and some Asient Orange sauce on the side. It was so delicious. My husband Sam wasn’t feeling well so he got french fries which is the only other thing on the menu besides the bowls. They were good! He tried a bunch of the sauces and the hottest was not TOO hot he said — but he breathes fire so it’s all relative. :) We will be back to try more combos and some different sides, like the pickled shrooms and the slaw.

The 5 stars alone tells you this place is just amazingly yuuummmmmmy. So much flavor and passion put into these dishes. For you to not like this place is shameful on your taste buds and goes to show you that you need to open your horizons. Now to the food, my wife and I was in the mood for something different. Of course I always have some place to go or try [I am a foodie and Unilocaler]. So with her belly in my trust I had to bring my [A] game. Plus my wife is a picky eater so pressure on me. Now to the naked eye you might just pass this place, for location may not be the best [but getting better]. Once you enter décor is really funky and bold, Asian paintings, a few tables even a bar setting to eat [Front row seating to watch them work their magic]. My wife ordered the Karage Bowl w/rice and Kimchi [freaking mind blowing]. Myself I had the combo which consists of pulled pork and chicken w/noodles and mean greens [can you say yuuummmmmmy]. The flavors and spices that are married together is one hell of a wedding. Our love affair with these plates are memorable and we definitely can’t wait to try the rest of there menu. Kudos Chop Chop Shop and a double kudos to winning my wife over. So if your ever in the Seminole Heights area and need a great delicious fix please go to Chop Chop Shop. You won’t be dissapointed.

What a great find on Florida avenue and its tough to spot unless you know where to look for it. They do Bowls with your choice of noodles or rice and a variety of meats. My favorite was the chicken which came well seasoned but definitely needed a bit more of their house sauce so be sure to ask for some extra on the side. The pork wasn’t actual marinaded pork but shredded pork shoulder/butt so keep that in mind if you order that as your meat. Everything was great and the only thing I though was weird was that they charged extra for kimchee as your side which is pretty basic. Also keep in mind when you pick a premium side it isn’t an add-on as it actually replaces what would be a free one(Greens or Purple Cabbage) Will definitely be back and be advised the parking is non existant as you will be looking for a spot on a side road.

You know — there’s food for«special occasions» and then there’s «everyday» comfort home food. Yes, we go out for the first reason, wanting something memorable; but most of us truly just want the latter. I would imagine that the food served here at Chop Chop Shop reflects what«everyday» heart warming Korean/Japanese food tastes like. The rice bowls with the sides — on point! Not to mention, the delectable selection of sauces remind me of honest Asian Auntie food! Sooooooo good! The hustlers behind the counter know what’s up. Hands down! Foodies: please do not contact a TV Food channel to discuss this place… because we really love it… and we would hate for pilgrimage lines and hype to ruin it for the rest of us. Yes, it’s THAT serious.

Chop chop is one of Tampa’s great hidden treasures, in my fact. Very low key and opened during specific parts of the week so check out their hours before heading over there. The food is great and out to you amazingly fast. I recommend the chicken karage bowl which comes with white or brown rice in addition to a side. I don’t remember much of the rest of the menu, mostly the rice bowls(or noodle) but everything I have tried tastes nothing but awesome. I’ve always had good luck with parking but on busy nights it may be tricky finding a spot. The prices are extremely affordable as well which can be a little hard to find with Asian fusion. Take out is always a viable option!

3.5 Stars The food is outstanding, the ordering process is terrible. If things could be done to improve the check out line(and the air conditioning and the parking), I would definitely consider it’s five-star potential. My most recent visit, the party of four in front of us took a good ten minutes to order, all the while the line was backing up to the front door. Suggestions to improve this would be: 1) have paper menus that people could look over while waiting in line, versus just small writing on a dimly lit chalkboard, 2) have signs on the walls that explain what the bowl comes with so it doesn’t have to be explained to every single customer 3) have someone specifically in charge of taking to-go orders, and checking to-go people out instead of just one person handling both phone orders and in-shop orders, and 4) have a more efficient counter person. My most recent visit I had the Chicken in the Miso Love Love sauce over noodles with the mean greens on top. I added a side order of kimchee to it which was placed on top too. That order, including upcharges for both noodles instead of rice, and the tiny scoop of kimchee, plus a soda, came to $ 14+. Fortunately, the food came out quickly and hot, the portion size was generous with lots of chicken and lots of noodles, and the flavor was unique and delicious. I love that the bowls aren’t over-sauced. Parking is a joke, so good luck with that, but if you manage to park, and have the patience of a saint to get your order taken, the payoff will be an excellent bowl of food.

Quick and delicious. Don’t expect Goliath portions, but the different combinations of savory flavors will tame the lion in your stomach. I ordered the Pork Belly with Miso Love Love sauce and the Mean Greens. Bowl comes with rice. The man at the register recommended either Miso Love Love sauce or Chicago Lee sauce with the Pork Belly. The Miso Love Love sauce was sweet and blended well with the salty fat pork belly. The Mean Greens were good but not anything to brag about. I did like the Japanese radish slices that were included, never had one before.

*Personable staff *Lots of options *Cute environment *Delicious I had the Asient Orange chicken with carrots. It was spicy, and delicious. Great portion, and decent price. I’d love to go again and pick something more adventurous. However my experience was even more unique. I was introduced chop shop by a regular. I left my phone there, and they contacted my friend to see if we lost a phone. I was really impressed, because they really went to a great deal to make sure I got my phone back. I’m super grateful for the integrity and care they demonstrate for their customers.

Chop Chop Shop is a fun little Asian fusion place in the heart of Seminole Heights along Florida Avenue. Unlike a lot of restaurants in the area, there is no waiter service, instead you walk up to the counter to look over the menu and place your order. After that you find a seat at one of the small tables in the front room, or shuffle on back to where you can sit at the counter overlooking the kitchen, or find space at one of the larger tables in the back. There is not a lot of seating space in the restaurant, maybe room for 20 people or so. Most everything is served as a bowl, though there are some burgers, sammies, and sides as well. You start by deciding on your sauce and style of cooking, then you choose your protein, and finally add on any specialty sides. As an example, on this most-recent trip I ordered the KBBQ rice bowl which was made with Korean BBQ sauce with soy sauce, scallions, garlic, ginger, honey, and brown sugar. All of that was over chopped beef, and I added a side of purple slaw which was made with red cabbage threads, white onion, Japanese mayo, rice vinegar, and a bit more fresh ginger. Once my order was placed and paid for, I walked back and pulled up a stool overlooking the kitchen area. The interior of the restaurant is dark because they don’t have a lot of windows, but your eyes will quickly grow accustomed to the space. While the kitchen crew was preparing the various orders, I looked over their vast selection of hot sauces, and settled on Jamaican Pickapeppa sauce made with Scotch Bonnets peppers. YUM! My name was called out a few minutes later, and I walked back to the counter to pick up my bowl and some chopsticks. They also offer forks for those who haven’t mastered the art of eating with two pieces of wood, but I prefer the original experience of eating an Asian bowl with chopsticks. The food was delicious, and the bowl was very filling. I added a few blasts of the Pickapeppa sauce to kick up the heat, and was happy with the finished product. A lot of people were popping in to pick up their dinners to go, which looks to be a popular options with people who live in the neighborhood. Chop Chop Shop is on Florida Avenue, a few blocks south of Sligh. They are open for dinner starting at 5pm, and only open for lunch on Saturdays.

Another review I wanted to give 5 stars to, however, the service I received on my visit downgraded it a bit. I stopped by early on a Friday evening to get takeout after all the rave reviews from my friends who live in Seminole Heights and frequent this place quite a bit. After reviewing the menu, I decided to order the Combo(Chicken and Pulled Pork) bowl with Shop Sauce. I asked if I could get Noodles and Rice, since you’re only supposed to pick one, and offered to pay the extra charge. The guy taking my order wasn’t sure and had to go ask someone who advised that it couldn’t be done despite the order being made to order. This left me a bit perplexed, but oh well I guess? For my side I decided to try the Mean Greens upon the recommendation of the guy taking my order. It only took about 5 – 10 minutes for my order to be prepared and ready for takeout. I was quite surprised at how good the food was when I finally got home and ate. The ratio of meat to sauce was perfect and very flavorful. The Mean Greens, which were a combo of green veggies in some sort of marinade, was also quite good. All of their options, and there are many, all seem to combine flavors in a unique way. I will definitely be back to try more whenever I’m in the area.

If you’re looking for a fancy-pantsy dining place, don’t go here. If you’re looking for a quick grab-n-go type of greasy food, don’t go here. However, if you’re looking for an authentic blend of Asian-fusion cuisine along with a pretty hip environment, you’ve come to the right place. At first glance, chop chop shop doesn’t have the appeal of other places. Location. isn’t the most convenient and is almost tucked away in a little corner in Seminole Heights. However, once you walk through those doors, there’s no going back, quite literally. Everything on the menu, and trust me, I’ve tried my fair share of different combinations, has it’s own unique flavor and taste. The staff is friendly and kind, even gave me a taste of the different sauces when asked. It really does fill a niche that Tampa has been missing in its Asian cuisine. The soba noodles are $ 2 extra, but are worth every cent. A wallet-friendly location, I will and definitely am going to be back!

I have eaten here several times and tried a variety of bowls including the Karaage chicken, beef, and regular chicken based bowls. Chop Chop Shop is a unique restaurant for the Tampa restaurant scene. Too many places in Tampa serve burgers, steaks, and pizza; therefore, finding something different is a plus. I enjoy Asian cuisine and love their concept. The first bowl I tried was the chicken bowl with Bangkok sauce served with kimchee and pickled hot peppers. The chicken grilled was good and I enjoyed the balance of unique flavors. I prefer the grilled chicken over the Karaage chicken here. The Karaage chicken did not taste fresh and the breading was not crispy. The Bangkok sauce is more sweet than spicy. Unfortunately they do not offer a truly spicy sauce. Chop Chop Shop used to offer Jason’s Hot Sauce(my favorite brand of local hot sauces) but disappointingly no longer offers this unique condiment. The pickled peppers are delicious too. I also tried the beef with mole sauce. The sauce was great but they should offer steak instead of ground beef. The beef used in this bowl is the same as hamburger meat. The combination of rice with hamburger meat is off-putting. I am glad to have Chop Chop Shop as an option in Tampa. I look forward to another great grilled chicken bowl.

I actually been here for the first time this past weekend in the Seminole Heights neighborhood. Not bad. This is a relatively small restaurant with a few tables for seating inside. There are a couple of tables worth of seating outside in the front. You may have to park on the street in the neighborhood behind the restaurant during peak times since parking is extremely limited. The food menu is broken down into categories so that you can piece your bowl together. It allows you to choose your meat, sauce, rice or noodles, and your choice of sides. The sides include, but are not limited to kimchi, etc. I had the combo me(chicken and Korean style pulled pork) with noodles and Chicago Lee sauce. My sides were the Mean greens and kimchi. It was tasty. I like the Decour a lot. The color scheme has a lot of black and red in it. I’m generally not too much of a fan of Korean food(Though I love love love kimchi!), but was willing to give this place a try and I actually liked it. Progress!

This place can be easily overlooked– it’s a small restaurant partly hidden in maybe not the best area, but I’m all about cheap eats and don’t really care too much about appearances. I just want tasty food and if it’s a good price, even better! Chop Chop Shop has all sorts of Asian fusion dishes. We ordered the bowls, which you pick a meat, sauce, and side on top of rice or noodles. We were starving and the bowls were pretty filling. I ordered the pork belly with a sweet and mildly spicy sauce(Shop Sauce) over rice with a side of mean greens. My boyfriend ordered the chicken karage with purple slaw, which was pretty decent too. They also have unique burgers like one topped with pork belly and kimchi.

I have become a regular and I still feel that it is 5 stars! So why am I re-reviewing? Because Chop Chop Shop has turned into my favorite go-to for a quick meal. Chop Chop is so close to my house that I find myself here often and I have become completely obsessed. Let me tell you a secret. Get the shop sauce. Seriously, get it. It is the best sauce they have to offer and completely addicting. My new go to bowl is pulled pork, shop sauce, soba noodles, and pickled peppers. It is seriously the best. You can also get french fries with shop sauce to dip it in — YUM! Just a warning, they get really busy so be prepared to wait a little bit but give this place a try if you have not yet. You will likely become completely addicted like me!

This place is a gem. It’s a tiny restaurant with only a few people working there, but the food is excellent! You order at the counter and choose a meat, rice or noodles, a veggie, and a sauce and all meals are made to order. Highly recommend the miso love love sauce! Some tips: BYOB is welcome, so bring wine or beer. This place gets crowded, so come early or be prepared to wait. They also do take out if you call ahead.

Chop chop shop brings Tampa one step closer to achieving real city status. Chop chop shop feels like it was plucked from a trendy restaurant scene in NYC and dropped into Seminole Heights. The food is unique(Korean fusion?) and the taste is nothing short of exceptional. We both ordered bowls, different sauces, different meats and different sides. I can’t say any one thing was better than the other because it was all good, damn good. Seating is limited and parking is even more scarce(see reference to real city). The staff/owners are friendly and passionate about this joint. Get here. Eat. Be happy. I highly reccomend.

I’ve been quite pleased with the food that I’ve gotten from the Chop Chop Shop. A big portion of the menu consists of bowls that you pick and choose ingredients from. You choose a meat, a sauce, and sides. The Chop Chop Chimichurri sauce is absolutely delicious. The«mean greens» side is something I haven’t had before. The menu says it’s Asian greens with black sesame sauce. It complements the meat in the bowl really well. There are several items on the menu I’m looking forward to trying. The parking situation is baffling to me. This restaurant and the dead pizza place next to it share three parking spots. If you go at night you can park at some of the nearby businesses that are closed. I have no idea what you would do during the day.

The first time I went I ordered the rice bowl with the Miso Love Love sauce with chicken and mean greens. Very flavorful — somewhat sweet and somewhat salty. Perfect combo. Probably the best dish I’ve had in Seminole Heights. I haven’t been too lucky over there. The portion size is sufficient for the price. Their drink options are very limited. I had the lychee drink(tastes a little like pear if you haven’t had it). Wish they had a greater selection of drinks, such as bottled green tea(UPDATE: they’ve added green tea and others). They did mention that you can BYOB. The second time I went I had the chop sauce rice bowl with pork and mean greens. The pork was tender and moist and also had great flavor. It really filled me up. I can’t say I liked one sauce or meat more than the other; they were both excellent. I’ve also had the shop burger which has good flavor but the excessive juice/grease makes it sloppy to eat. The restaurant is small and when I went midweek, it wasn’t busy where seating was an issue. Fun to sit at the bar to watch the action in the kitchen, esp since they’ve corrected the ventilation problem they had when they opened. The staff/owners were nice. I wish them success! I’ll be a regular.
