From our first phone call to walking in the door — EVERY TEAM MEMBER of Citrus Park Eyecare is AWESOME!
We called first thing because my wife’s eye was killing her. She thought she had something in it, and we couldn’t flush it out with saline. The woman on the phone was awesome. She took some basic info, and told us to come in «immediately»!!
The offices are beautiful and they were busy, but they took my wife in almost immediately. One very gracious team member took her hand and gently walked her back into an exam room! VERY SWEET!
My wife says she «loves Dr. Matt», and she’s coming back. So am I!
We were shocked to see the VERY FAIR emergency visit charge — no up-​charges or anything!
If we could give them 10 stars, we would!

I have been going to Dr. Helsing for a couple of years and I always have a great experience. Dr. David Hesling is who I typically see, but Dr. Matthew Helsing is just as good. They are both super nice and friendly, and they explain things well throughout the exam. I’ve never had doctors that were so happy and nice every single time I see them. The office staff are also very friendly, Michelle and Cathleen are always knowledgeable and helpful.
The last visit I had, I met some newer staff for the first time. The person who did my preliminary exam was nice and she was quick, but I would have liked a little more explanation of things from her during the exam. I am used to Dr. Helsing and others explaining things clearly and going into some detail about the procedures and tests and so forth, and that usually makes me more comfortable.
The woman who helped me pick out my glasses was also new to me, and she was very friendly and helped me pick out an excellent pair of sunglasses. She also helped me navigate through the terrible world of insurance to figure out the best options.
They have a good selection of both designer and non-​designer brands, including regular glasses and sunglasses with various lens options and they also do contact exams and sell contacts. They take all types of insurance and have no problem explaining benefits and outlining choices to stay within a budget.
Overall, I love this place and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great eye doctor.

This is a well run family practice that takes the time to do the little things right. The staff is very knowledgeable and go out of their way to help. Both doctors (father and do son) are excellent.

Citrus Park Eye care is a very professional office. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. It has a great selection of eyewear but most of all the doctors are caring and know their «stuff». I would recommend to anyone.

My daughter and I went in for our annual eye exam. This was her first eye exam. She was a bit nervous but the instant we walked in the door the ladies at the front desk made us feel welcome. My daughter enjoyed trying on the different eye wear until the exam.
We had Dr. Matthew Helsing. He was very good making the exam fun for my daughter. She was laughing the entire time. The entire visit was very fast and easy. He was very good and knowledgeable. A great place and very professional.

A five star business (at least to me) has to either A. Offer a product or a service that you can’t find anywhere else or B. It’s simply awesome, period!
Citrus Park EyeCare is no different than any other small EyeCare business. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it’s certainly not a great thing. Sometimes it’s best to go with what you know.
My experience was just lukewarm. I did not go for an eye exam, for all I know they may have an outstanding staff of Doctors, I cannot speak for that. My only objective was to purchase a new pair of glasses maybe even two. I was able to find two solid options that matched my criteria. Prices are comparable to other EyeCare places, the buy one get one at 40% off is not a bad deal. Though I was able to find my glasses I still wish they had more of an inventory.
My prescription has been the same for some years now. I wanted a pair with tint and one regular. Ended with only the regular pair due in large to poor salesmanship from the office staff.
As I’m about to pay for my glasses, I’m getting questioned on my current RX by the lady in the front desk. Not to nitpick but I just wasn’t diggin the tone nor the body language. From past experiences I see EyeCare centers tend to do this often (question your RX) to add on to your bill… I get it, but that doesn’t excuse the subtle attitude, there is a right way and a wrong way to do things. I found it unprofessional. My RX is not only minor but it’s good for another two years, that’s all there is to it. No need to sweat me over something insignificant.
Anyway. My glasses came back from the lab in less than a week. Only problem was they arrived w/​o the anti-​glare that I paid for. Teri was kind enough to call and explain the error and said they’d be ready in four business days. Long story short, they were still not ready in the end. I was forced to call and get out of character on the phone. Mistakes happen, but the bottom line is they were supposed to have my glasses ready on time. Having to travel that weekend, meant I’d have to wait another week to get my glasses. That was a problem. Despite Teri being in the center of this mishap. She went out of her way to pick up the glasses to ensure my satisfaction, that’s great Customer Service. Not to bash anybody, but she outperformed everyone IMO.
Final thoughts… I am happy with my glasses. In the end that’s most important to me. Still, CPE appears to be for a different type of crowd. The location is good, plenty of parking. Hours of operation not so great. Closed by 5pm most weekdays and closed on weekends. 2.5 stars for CPE, 5 stars for Teri.

My husband and I have been going to this office for over 5 years.Dr.Helsing is not only always in a good mood and has a smile on his face he is an AMAZING doctor. His staff is amazing also always make you feel like you are family and not just a patient/customer.I will highly reccomending him.
Best eye doctor I have ever seen

This is the best eye doctor I have ever been to. The entire staff is always so friendly and helpful. The Doctor was very patient and thorough — I like to ask alot of questions and he explains everything so clearly. Gale was great in making my glass selection easy in finding just the right glasses and frames — along with feedback from everyone in the office. Also they’re prices are much better than any other eye doctor’s office for prescription glasses, really helps being that glasses are a necessary expensive item. I always recommend them and will always go back. Always a very pleasant experience.

They accepted my Humana insurance and clarified my benefits directly with the insurance company prior to my appointment, so there wasn’t any surprises or guesswork. The staff and doctors were very personal, friendly and welcoming.
I’ve never had to wait more than 5 minutes past my appointment time to see the doctor. I got a year’s supply of contacts for only $ 10 after insurance.

Dr. Helsing was very good. Not only was he kind and attentive, but he paid very good attention to what I was saying and the questions I was asking. I love the fact that I did not feel rushed at all. By the end of the visit, I felt very well taken are of. On top of that, I picked out a great pair of glasses fully covered by insurance! Didn’t pay a cent!
