So far so bad. Whats the deal? Got the CL deal. went for lunch thursday and CLOSED! big chain on the door. Should have been open by the hours posted but they were not. Not cool I didn’t get to eat lunch that day because didn’t have enough time to get anywhere else.

Best kept secret in Tampa!!! Who would have thought the best authentic tacos in Tampa are from a bakery!!! My coworker and I decided to try Dulce Café Bakery for lunch today and it was one of the most amazing lunches. We are already talking about what we are going to order next week! I ordered a Carnitas Taco and a Roast Pork sandwich and my co-worker ordered the Sopes and a Steak Taco. Everything was amazing. The Carnitas Taco was the best taco I have had in Florida, if not the United States. This simple, but authentic taco was filled with pork, pickled red onions, lettuce, and habanero peppers and was served on a freshly made tortillas. A squeeze of lime and a touch of the salsa verde created a fiesta in my mouth! It was a bit of an overkill to order the roast pork sandwich once I realized the sandwich was so huge, but I needed something to go with my $ 2 taco. The roasted pork sandwich is one of the best pork sandwiches I have ever had! I barely made it halfway through the sandwich. I paid less than $ 10 for the taco and the pork sandwich and received enough food for two meals. Will be back next week to try more of the menu!

I love cuban food. I grew up in Miami, and driving a bug truck around town, I loved to his hole in the wall places. My spanish is terrible, but I know how to order. We walked into this place, and they had a nice bakery case. There were plenty of nice tables and chairs and a TV playing food shows. Its cafeteria style, and they bring food to you. They have arepas, breakfast items and sandwiches. The menu was small but it looked promising. We got a cuban, a pork sandwich and a hawaiian sandwich. The cuban was well done, the pork is good, and it was well pressed, the hawaiian was also good. When I bit into the pork sandwich a part of me died. It was outstanding and off the hook. This is the sandwich I would order for a last meal, the garlic aioli was deadly, the pork set it off and the veggies were a great compliment. The garlic stuck around for a while, and I was advertising the sandwich long after I left until I got some mints. This is a good place. Service is small, since it is family run. The food came out at different times, maybe that isn’t such a big deal, but this is a good place for lunch.

As per EJ review. There is no warning needed on my review as I am not related to any one. And an assumption on a review such as that should be more careful. But three things. Great service Great food Bang for your buck! This place has some original recipes and some recipes that are general. But they are all amazing! We always order from this place at my job. It’s amazing food. I just got the empanadas today and the fruit salad no whip(yes they will customize to your needs) and I got the Caesar salad with chicken and might I say I’m stuffed! Very delicious and worth a try. Stop by one day. You won’t regret it.

Friendly service. The chocolate croissant was pretty good. I could have gone without the extra calories from the sugar topping, but I enjoyed it because there was plenty of chocolate inside(some chocolate croissants just don’t have enough– knaw mean?). The alfajores seemed a little disappointing to me, but I would definitely return to try out more items. They offer jibaritos which are sandwiches that use green plantains as the«bread.» I no longer eat meat, but they said they are thinking of offering a veggie option. Also, please alert EJ that that now have guava pastries. Apparently, this was a big deal for her… and they have since had time to work on their labeling. Since I do like to support local small businesses, I can forgive them for small details while they are starting up. Their space was very clean, the bathroom was nice, the staff treated me well. I will definitely return and see if they can earn more stars.

The staff is so friendly! I like how clean the restaurant is and how nicely decorated it is. The café con leche is delicious and the croissants are so nice and buttery. I would definitely recommend this place.

WARNING: THEREVIEWSPUBLISHEDAFTERMINESEEMTOBEPLANTEDBYFRIENDS/FAMILY OFTHEOWNERS. BUYERBEWARE. THEYALLSEEMTOBEFAKEANDWRITTENBYTHESAMEPERSON. Right off the bat this place is going to have problems b/c it’s almost impossible to spot from Kennedy Blvd. BAD, VERYBAD signage. They put a new sign up. Still BAD, VERYBAD signage. I was really looking forward to seeing a successful Latin bakery open in South Tampa, one with great Latin sweets. But this is not it. At least not yet. I went here looking for your typical Tampa Latin sweet: a guava pastry, not a guava pastry with cheese, or not a guava pastry with coconut. Not a bread ring with guava in it. BUT A TRADITIONALPASTRYWITHGUAVAONLY. Guava pastries are the most popular Latin sweet in Tampa, and the measure by which most bakeries are judged. If you can’t make an excellent guava-only pastry, you are in trouble. They had none. Not good. They better get with the program and bake fresh every day the basic stuff that Tampa people want. They had other stuff, like dulce de leche-stuffed pastries, some cupcakes and flan. But most of it looked old or badly executed. The cupcake frosting looked half-melted and the food coloring was running. The savory croissants were good. The actual café is nice and has a nice seating area. But the food doesn’t look good, like they have no idea what they are doing. Some of the baked goods are not labeled, the rest are labeled with pieces of paper and MASKINGTAPE, wtf??? By the way, the fact that the exterior of the bakery/café is covered in security bars is definitely a turn-off. Not a good start for this place.
