Saturday at Elite, I watched a 104 pound woman deadlift 190lbs. I’ve also seen Trainer Scott bench press over 300 pounds. As someone who walked in not knowing what«amrap» or a «snatch» was, I can attest to their ability in training not just a novice but someone completely ignorant of almost all weightlifting practices. I can also attest to their ability to train already strong individuals.(I’m not exaggerating when I say that the people that sling weight around bars in that facility are jacked.) Really, really buff dudes have gotten girlishly excited over personal records. Despite this, I’ve watched people of varying body types accomplish so many different tasks. Not only is there an extensive variety of people training, there’s also personalization. This isn’t a gym where one routine works for everyone. They’ve modified my already pretty aggressive cardiovascular routine to supplement my current fitness goals. I’m not Olympic lifting because it doesn’t benefit my boxing, but I am constantly challenged during every session by innovative techniques. Strength and conditioning with Elite has already made me a better boxer and stronger runner.
