I was pleasantly surprised. Fu Yuan has very authentic Chinese food at reasonable prices. Of course, it helps if you know what to order. Don’t order from the regular menu. Instead, order from the dinner menu, in which you can pick three entrees for $ 20. That’s probably one of the best food bargains around, because the servings are pretty big. We picked the Beef with Bittermelon, Szechuan Fish Fillet, and(Chinese-style) Fried Chicken. Also added Hong Sui Tofu and Shredded Pork soup. Each dish was very fresh and perfectly cooked.(You usually won’t find these dishes at other Tampa Chinese restaurants because most customers don’t have cravings for this type of authentic food.) I was also impressed that the tables, silverware, and plates were spotlessly clean. The owners are very friendly and helpful. I agree with the other poster who said this is a hidden treasure.(In the back of my mind, I’m kinda wanting to keep this place secret so they won’t get ruined by popularity.) Overall, the only reason I don’t rate Fu Yuan a 5⁄5 is because the environment is a bit plain. But we went there for the food, and were very happy with it.
