Gamestop

Love this place! Even though there is one closer to my house, I take a few extra minutes to go to this one. Staff is polite and knowledgable and typically has first hand experience on just about every game. Explain what you’re looking for and they’ll give you options.

Gamestop AS A COMPANY just lost my business. Until today, 100% of all my gaming needs have been with Gamestop. Xboxes, Playstations, games, trade-​ins, etc. However, I paid $ 20 for the Call of Duty season pass on ¹⁰⁄₁₅ and another $ 20 on 11/​13, and the clerk mentioned nothing about a code on my receipt for the season pass. So I called them up today, spoke with brandon and then the manager and I was told I’m screwed, basically. No code regeneration. No nada. The manager even said if I dispute the charge with my bank, I will lose. Nice, huh? Customer service at it’s finest right there.
Anywho, I called the bank, and all is good. But damn Gamestop to hell for making me waste my time with this situation. I’ll have to find another spot for all of my gaming needs.

Someone from corporate called my after I blew up their website with e-​mail traffic. They explained to me that all I needed to do was log into the power up rewards site, go into the digital locker (link) and the code is there. Seems like some useful intel for the store manager to have, so I strongly offered that feedback.

I like this store a lot. There’s something to be said about browsing computer games. Call me old fashioned, but I am not a fan of downloadable games. I think Steam is a virus. I also like being able to get cheaper used games, although some of the «deals» are not deals at all. But since I’m into older games I sometimes find good deals.
I guess the younger generation prefers online gaming and internet ordering. I still cling to classics like Doom and Duke Nukem (Hail to the King, baby!) Avid older gamers may find something cool. I love to browse.
