I went with a large party(10 people) and was seated almost immediately which was awesome. The not so awesome part was that after ordering, we only received half of our food while table who were seated later got the same dishes we were waiting on. Additionally, while trying to flag down someone to settle this with, we found that the entire staff was firmly avoiding eye contact with us. After 1 and ½ hours of sitting at the restaurant my party wanted to pay and was told by the waitress that she couldn’t split the check. While the food and prices were okay, I’m just really disappointed by how we were treated. The food I would not recommend ordering would be the congee(too much ginger– the girl beside me could not finish it). Other than that, the salt and pepper calamari was nice and crispy and the duck was also very tender. Overall though, I won’t be coming back.

Good food, service, and atmosphere. Food — Four stars. I had steamed bok choy and salt and pepper tofu. The bok choy was brushed in oil, which I would have preferred none. Not a big deal, just not what I had in mind. The salt and pepper tofu was delicious. It was unlike the traditional tasting offered by Yummy House and the Vitenamese twist offered at Siagon Bay, but somehow like their flavorful love child. Hope that makes sense. My boyfriend has beef chow fun. He liked it. Service — Four stars. Very attentive and helpful. The menu lacks vegan options, so I had to ask a million questions before landing on my choices. I appreciate that our server was very patient and polite. Atmosphere — Four stars. Very clean, welcoming dining area. I love that. Very few times have I been able to have great, authentic Chinese food in such a clean, well designed place. Will come back for another dining experience, for sure.

Good Chinese food. Some interesting dishes. We enjoyed the spicy jalepenoa fried eggplant we got with Unilocal check-in. MD Market is behind it and Kung Fu Tra next door. Dim Sum is offered on weekend untik I think around 3 pm. Service was pretty good and helpful. These peeps work hard and pretty long hours. They have some tabks for fresh seafood. ie. still swimming. No complaints but not as good as China Yuan for me :)

Having dim sum for lunch on a Sunday. Hong Kong Hong house was very busy, we called ahead and were told it was a 20 minute wait but that we could add our name to the list so once we arrived in 20 minutes we would be seated. Once arrived, they had no recollection of our name or call ahead. Has to wait addition 15⁄20 minutes to sit.

We don’t have dim sum where we live, so we always get excited when there is a dim sum restaurant! We had the short ribs, Chinese brocolli, shu-Mai, and 3 plates of the shrimp paste. So delicious!

Best Chinese I’ve had(besides in NYC). Eggplant appetizer was beyond delicious, really fantastic considering I don’t normally like eggplant. Fried rice & lo mein is also good here! Dishes are served in family style, nice staff & good food. I highly recommend

I already have a hierarchy of my favorite dim sum spots in Tampa. 1) Yummy House, 2) China Yuan, and now 3) Hong Kong House. I went for lunch on a Sunday and it wasn’t too busy. I was seated right away and the dim sum carts approached my table without hesitation. Hong Kong House has a large range of dim sum choices. I loved the beef dumpling they had with the soup inside. I was pleasantly surprised to find out they had shark fin since it’s one of my favorite dim sum items. All of the dumplings were extremely meaty. The prices were average for a dim sum and I will definitely be back since it is closer than my other two dim sum favorites. P. S. Check in for a free salt and pepper eggplant appetizer.

I can’t say that this is the best dim sum restaurant in Tampa, but I have consistently came back when craving dim sum. The restaurant is kept pretty clean and it is well staffed. Though service isn’t that great as most Chinese places aren’t. I like that they have dim sum carts. Even though the food isn’t hot sometimes, it is quick to come to the table. I always order the Sui Mai because their’s is really fatty, making the texture slightly firm and the meat juicy. I always come for Sunday brunch and they are always packed. I would advise people to come early to get seating.

Dim Sum on a Sunday? Yes please! There’s nothing really special about this place other than decent dim sum and good service. I got here around 12:30pm and some of the dim sum were already cold. For instance, I wanted the fried chive dumplings and the waiter handed over a plate of fried chive dumplings but already soggy. We asked for a new one and he gave us 2 choices. Either have it refried or wait 2 hours for another batch. Honestly, I am well aware that not all their dim sums are freshly made so it doesn’t hurt to defrost some dumplings and fried them. They were very good with the tea service and replaced the tea pot when it was empty. I’ll give them a 4 for their fast service. The restaurant was clean and staff were semi friendly. Though, a little smile would be nice.

Had dim sum here and they seemed«authentic» to my semi-trained tongue. I was here on Thanksgiving and they were packed — Mostly Asian people. Interpret that however you want. Most dim sum I had was delicious and tasted fresh(Not sitting in the dim sum cart for hours). I liked the fried shrimp ball the best. Price wise, most dim sum is $ 3 – 5 and comes with 3 – 4 pieces. There is MD Oriental Market right behind the restaurant. Enjoy the Chinese food at HK House then take a stroll in MD Oriental Market for a full day of Asian cultural experience.

I’ve been there multiple times and I can say that some dishes were amazing but when I reordered it another time it was decent or just okay. But the few times where the food was amazing, has me addicted enough to keep going back. It doesn’t look like much from the outside but the inside is a lot bigger and nicer than I thought it would be. The service is probably my biggest complaint, they are not that attentive and they never really check up on your during your meal, so if you need more water, sauce, or want to add to your order, you may find yourself having to flag someone down. They also have pretty decent dim-sum. I have been trying to find a good dim sum place for a while now, and this has to be one of my go-to places, because they have some of the staple dishes that dim sum cuisine calls for. My favorite thing about it is how close it is to USF and MD Oriental Market.

This is a restaurant that hit and misses on their main menu dishes. Consistency is not there. The dim sum is consistent now compare to the period they run special. During special price period the dim sum is not in the right temperature. But currently, they do improve on their dim sum temperature. The restaurant serves traditional Chinese dishes. Sometimes they are really good and sometime they are not measure to the standard. Today we are here for the dim sum. We have 8 people and we made our order and the first group of food came out in 5 minutes. Then the rest are following. Each item is at their right temperature. I like the most is the fried shrimp ball. The shrimp is ground and cornstarch and coated with slice wonton skin. Since we have the big group, the bill is included the tip which make our life easy since they figure the tip for us. We over order a lot of item since only seven of us go for dim sum. Good dim sum number is 3, 4, 6, 8 or 9 people. 7 is an odd number out not easy to satisfy each one if you order less or you have to over order them.

We were here for dinner with a group of eight people, and received great service and very much enjoyed our dinner. In order of my personal appreciation, here are the dishes we ordered: 1. seasonal fish: definitely my favorite thing, it was a very generous portion, with fried fish prepared two ways. well flavored, light, crisp. 2. fried crispy pan noodles with seafood: i love this dish pretty much everywhere, and it was not a mistake here. so good. 3. fried pork: also delicious. is there a theme here? maybe. 4. seafood/tofu bowl: really great, but perhaps a little more seafood would have been good. 5. hong kong wonton bowl: delicious! very hearty. 6. fried egg plant(free with Unilocal check in): just okay. definitely not our favorite dish. overall, really really wonderful experience. we almost came back for dim sum the next day, but we didn’t get make it in time.

Last time I was here it was around 1:30pm in the afternoon and the service sucked. The dim sum wasn’t that great. I wanted to give it another try and so we came Saturday morning during lunch hours. There is a free eggplant appetizers when you check-in on your Unilocal app. and the eggplant was not bad, it’s just fried, so if you’re not into fried food, like me, after a few pieces, that’s more than enough for me before I feel like my arteries are about to clog. Most places doesn’t charge you for tea, but this place does. The dim sum here is a tiny bit more expensive than other places as well. The food tastes about the same as other places in the Tampa area, and it’s a bit cheaper. The service was a lot better than the last time I came. I’d like to come again to try their dinner menu as there was a lot of dishes that I wanted to check out. Overall, for dim sum, unless this is your side of town, I wouldn’t make the extra drive to come here if there is another dim sum place closer to you.

First off it’s the best décor and cleanest Chinese restaurant we found in Tampa. Atmosphere is quiet. Serves the freshest(as in swimming in the aquarium) fish, shrimp, gooeyduck(sp)? And lobster. Pot stickers are fantastic. Fried coconut balls are very good as is the Mongolian beef. Fried seafood noodles were just ok. Service was helpful and attentive. But a Chinese place that doesn’t take Amex? C’mon that’s downright Awful! Will be back.

I’ve FINALLY found a good go-to place for authentic Chinese AND Dim Sum in FL(NOT Americanized take-out crap)!! They’ve got all the important Dim Sum that really matters to me and then some: Har Gao, Siu Mai, Beef Tripe, Chicken Feet, Ribs, Egg Tart, and Shrimp with rice-pancake-thingy-I-don’t-know-what’s-it-called. It’s got a good Chinese family ambiance and décor, and it’s clean. I’ve been here maybe 2−3x thus far and have always enjoyed my meal. I’ve even came by one time for dinner with my sister when she was visiting and I felt like I was back at home having a home-cooked meal. We got the Egg Drop soup, Peking Duck, and a stir fry vegetable dish family style. It really made me miss my family, so my sister and I snapchatted our delicious spread to my Dad, hehe. I will be bringing my parents here when they come visit me next time! The one disappointing thing was that they don’t offer fresh Black Bean Clam. I was soo excited when I saw it on the menu, but I really appreciate their honesty when I asked if they used fresh clam. I’ll probably relent next time and order the dish anyway because I’ve been craving it so much! Check-out the place for authentic Chinese food, you won’t be disappointed!

Finally made our way out here to eat dim sum. Aaaannndddd – we were not disappointed! Parking was plentiful which is a plus. Restaurant was nice inside, cool floors and ceiling. My family and I met up with seven others for a dim sum feast. So the highlights, because everything I tasted was good. I really enjoyed the shu mai, shrimp dumplings, pork buns, taro balls and the rice flour crêpe things with shrimp inside– yeah, no idea what it’s called still but I love it LOL! Hubby said chicken feet were awesome and was happily munching down on everything else. Oh– and the chrysanthemum tea is delicious! Service was a bit slow, but this would not deter us from coming back. Awesome place to come for dim sum! Look forward to coming back soon and trying some other dishes.
