The food is very very good! I got the veggie burger and it was outstanding! The best I’ve ever had and my girlfriend got the shrimp and grilled chicken with yellow rice and beans and that was also very good. I only gave it 4 stars because the service can be slow so I recommend ordering in advance. The girl that works the front is so nice!

I had the Dry chicken and tough shrimp watered down pasta. Side of soft cabbage. The only good thing i brought was the devil crab. I heard this place was good, i will test out 1 more time just don’t get the pasta.

Was here recently and I usually love this place whenever I’m in town. But today *sigh*. Everyone must have the Monday Blues. I ordered oxtails (my usual), paid with a credit card THEN was told that my order would take 45 minutes. Wait. what?!? 45 minutes?!? Yeah, I have other things to do soooo. no. I asked for a refund. I was then told that I would have to come back the next day to speak with a manager and get my money back. –_​– I don’t even live in TAMPA! I was in town for that one day and decided to drop in. How smart do you have to be to figure out that people MIGHT want to know that their order may 45 minutes to an hour to be ready **BEFORE** they pay for it? I’m just curious. Because I don’t have an hour of time to spend on 22^nd and Hillsborough. It’s not even a safe area. Smh.
I don’t live locally anymore, but the chances of me returning back to this place, when I am in town, are slim to none. I am super annoyed.

After coworkers raved about the Tuesday special for $ 1 empanadas, devil crabs and stuffed potatoes, I just had to try it. And that I did, I got one of each. I didn’t make it for lunch so I rushed right over after work. The service was extremely slow. It seemed like the woman working the front was unfamiliar with the cash register and its operation. Dinner for $ 3.21 was worth a little patience though. For that to be the special of the day it took a long time to fill my order which gave me the impression I was getting a super fresh product made especially for me. I was wrong, so very very very wrong.
The devil crab was mostly stuffing. The grab that was inside was minced and had a strong vinegar taste which I am not accustomed nor do I like. The stuffed potato was made instant potatoes not fresh and they taste just like the box from which they came. The empanada was the only saving grace of the meal. I ordered the chicken empanada and it had what appeared to be stewed chicken with vegetables inside. The flavor was good and I wished after sampling all of the items that I had gotten 3 empanadas instead.
Even though the empanada is tasty, it wasn’t amazing so needless to say I wont be in a rush to return. And I also wont be listening to those co-​workers recommendations anymore either.

Returned a few days ago (2x over a few days) to awesome service and solid food.
Crab empanada was AWESOME!
Definite improvement, will be returning soon!

Authentic Jamaican food at its best! Nice Tampa Devil crabs very good. Staff full of smiles and very friendly. Best jerk chicken I’ve ever had. Love the rice n peas and plantains. Highly recommend Island Crew

The sherbet they have is amazing! I normally go in and get a burger because I want a «real» burger and they satisfy

Homemade soul food, large portions and great prices. The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Food (jerk chicken and cabbage) is decent… but nothing I would go back for.
