It’s Ole Man Bar-B-Q & Soulfood

CLOSED… CLOSED…YET AGAIN IN THIS SEEMINGLY DOOMED LOCATION.
I liked it on first visit, but apparently quality and reliability slipped and business dwindled.
Darwin also applies to restaurants… so let’s see what comes in next and whether it is the fittest.

Why 2 stars? Because unfortunately «gross» was the best way to describe it.

I hate giving negative reviews, especially to a business in my neighborhood of Seminole Heights. But indeed, this food was fairly awful. I ordered the ribs and it was the type of meal that really stays with you all night… I don’t know how else to describe it without saying — 6 hours later, I felt like I had just eaten it. Not to mention, there were little chunks of some kind of bone marrow or something in just about every bite I took. I also tried my roommate’s chicken, and it wasn’t very appealing either. Yep… I will definitely not be returning.
Again, I really do hate giving out 2-​stars, but there is no way to avoid that with my experience. The positives are that the people were extremely friendly to my roommate and I. This is definitely not a knock on the service, strictly the food. Hopefully they can improve that end of the business and stick around in the S-​Heights.

I live down the street from here & have been wanting to try their BBQ. I finally got the chance the other day & I have to say, it was awesome! Great fall off the bone ribs, sausage was hot & delicious, chopped pork was great too. Watch out for the sauces’ spiciness though… it creeps up on you! Got the sweats from the sausage & sauce! Will definitely go back for more! The staff was great & friendly too.
