Generally our Saturday night dinners are in Ybor and we wind up with a cigar and Cuban coffee or a drink. After trying many different cigar shops with these offerings, we think we have found the best. Staff is do friendly and are enjoyable to talk to.

I have been going here for the past 3 years. Always had a great experience. Was there last Sunday and was not impressed with the really bad customer service. I always go there for the cigars and coffee but I went in to buy 10 cigars and get a coffee. I wanted to combine the two charges which I have done before but te guy at the cigar counter said he couldn’t do it which I was ok with but what he said next really annoyed me. He said I know it’s customer friendly but I don’t care rules are rules. Probably not a good idea to say that to a customer. Then I went to get a coffee and asked for 2% milk and they said all we have is cream and soy. I asked is it possible to go to 2 doors down and get some 2% at 7 – 11 and then said you are welcome to but that’s not our job. I was so put off by the attitude here. I really have enjoyed coming here but I know there are other places in ybor to go to. I hope they read this and improves their staff morale and training

Average cigar selection, but enough to get by. The coffee and atmosphere make this one of my favorite cigar bars. If you like café con leche and Cuban coffee its a must stop.

Happy to have found this place. Low key place to smoke a cigar. Friendliest waitress in town, Ashleigh. Sandwiches are pretty good too.

As a teacher, I frequent King Corona to sit outside and enjoy a cigar as I grade essays. Tonight, while perusing the new deliveries, and sporting the credit card I held in my hand, the cashier rushed over to me to let me know I would have to show I.D. If I planned on using my card to prove it was mine.(I’d like to think race didn’t play an issue…) I was surprised, but acquiesced. As I stood in line, two white gentlemen before me were not carded as they paid with cards. When I asked the cashier why they didn’t have to, he told me it’s because he knew them. Again, I thought it strange but moved on. When I kindly asked the manager if this was policy, she grew very frustrated. I told her it was just that my concern was their«selective carding». Her response? «It’s not selective, we just choose not to card those we know.» That’s the definition of «selective», sweetie. The atmosphere is typically pleasant however, and the people watching is nice otherwise. But I likely won’t be back because of that experience. There are TONS of other cigar shops on the strip– explore! :)

This is a wonderful place to go on a Saturday morning, have a Cuban coffee, bring your paper, and perhaps enjoy your first cigar of the day. The air scrubbers inside keep the smoke/odor under control, and you can enjoy your cigar among others who enjoy the simple pleasures in life. If a cocktail is more your thing, they have that covered as well. People watching on 7th Ave? That too! Grab a seat outside and watch the colorful folks pass by in Ybor city. Love this place.

The only way to experience Ybor, is to stop in a cigar bar. This is the one you should stop at. Great selection of cigars and a great helpful staff.

Great place to have a couple beers, a good cigar, and some good conversation. The service is helpful and offers friendly banter, but they leave you to enjoy your own conversations without unneeded interruptions. They have a frequent patron program, and I recommend it if you enjoy this place as much as I do.

We have been here a few times. This is the best cigar bar we have been to. Every time we are in Ybor we go here for a beer and a cigar. The selection of cigars is outstanding. Humidors for every price range and need. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable.

King Corona Cigars is one of my favorite places in Ybor. They have a great selection of cigars, especially my favorites, Arturo Fuente. The staff here is very friendly and seem all to be very knowledgable about the cigars they carry. In addition to cigars, they serve a limited selection of beer, tapas, and coffee. I have heard from several of my friends that the coffee is delicious. I have yet to try their food, but I plan to do so in the future. There is outside seating if the smoke gets to be too much for you inside. Sitting outside has its perks because the people watching is very entertaining and there is never a dull moment. King Corona is the perfect place to wind down, grab a quick bite, or just to chill before heading home.

There are three things that I believe are the best benefits of being a gentleman: a hot barber shave, a good after dinner cognac or other excellent spirit, and a good cigar. I passed this place on my way to get a tattoo in Ybor and knew I had to come back. Prior to moving to Tampa, I had done some research on the city, and learned all sorts of cool facts from the cigar industry, to the bolita gambling that used to take place. I have to admit I was thinking«I could get used to the cigar scene down here.» Smack dab on the main drag on Ybor’s 7th street(La Septima), this place had tons of things going for it. It’s an amazing spot to people watch. We took a small table inside the shop near the front windows. The young lady behind the register was quite knowledgeable and helped my friend find the right type of novice cigar. Me, I was in a mood and as they didn’t have any cognac dipped cigars, I took a mint chocolate robusto with a «V» cut. Yes, yes, I hear you aficionados all over the world at a flavored cigar, especially a mint chocolate one. Frankly, I do what I want. We got our cigars and a young lady from the other side of the shop came over and asked what we were drinking. I had figured we’d have to go up to the bar area to get a drink, but they came to us. I settled on a Guiness and began to puff away. Waves of very interesting folks passed in front of the huge glass window on 7th, while we enjoyed our cigs and beer. Yes, I could indeed get used to the cigar culture here. Rounding out the shop is a few racks and merchandise displays, from fedoras to guayaberas and lighters. Sadly, I couldn’t find a fedora in my size. But, mark my words, I will rock a fedora some day, and rock it better than even Carmen Sandiego.

King Corona Cigars is THE place in Ybor City(Cigar City) to enjoy an amazing smoke, a delicious beverage, or a wonderful salad. Their Cuban Sandwiches are right there with wraps as well. You can sit outside and watch the world go by, or come inside and partake. There is no shortage of hospitality here. The staff is knowledgeable and very accommodating. It’s the type of place where you can stop by and find yourself staying for hours. Comfortable and neither loud nor smoky… Plenty of ventilation, super clean restrooms and full ashtrays constantly being exchanged for perfectly clean ones. You don’t have to be a cigar smoker to enjoy the richness of this venue. Try the Chai Tea with the mouth watering Turkey Bacon Gouda Wrap. Or perhaps the more traditional Café con leche and Cuban Sandwich. Not that hungry? Their salads are very reasonable, filling and fresh. Parking is assessable street side, or in the city parking garage within two short blocks. Wait not a minute longer to try this Ybor City hotspot. And tell ‘em The Tampa Natives Show sent you!

I’m back it’s the return of the MACK!!! This is my first review in… Damn I don’t even know. Oh well I found myself bored out of my mind this past Saturday and I said let me go grab a cigar and my car literally drove me right to Ybor and I landed in King Corona!!! I’ve been before but it’s been ass minute the décor was the same nothing changed about the place but the vibe was A+ I was recommended a Fuentes 8−5−8 madoro which was very very smooth. I enjoyed my trip so much I came back later that night with my fiancée! I will be back soon.

If you are going to spend any time in ybor city King Corona is a must. They have a terrific selection of cigars and a relaxing environment indoor and out to relax and enjoy. Don’t fret if you are not a cigar smoker, they serve terrific food(try the Cuban), and have a great selection of wine, beer, and exceptional coffee. My favorite is the café con leche. When the weather is nice it does not get any better than spending an hour or two sitting on the patio people watching, sharing conversation with people you know(or people you just met), and enjoying a nice cup of coffee and a cigar. This is hands down my favorite place in ybor city. I definitely reccomend.

I found myself in Ybor City after photographing an event just a few blocks away. What a wonderful little place to explore! In the early 1880s, Tampa was an isolated village with a population of less than 1000 and a struggling economy. However, its combination of a good port, Henry Plant’s new railroad line, and humid climate attracted the attention of Vicente Martinez Ybor, a prominent Spanish-born cigar manufacturer. Ybor had moved his cigar-making operation from Cuba to Key West, Florida in 1869, due to political turmoil in the then-Spanish colony. But, labor unrest and the lack of room for expansion had him looking for another base of operations, preferably in his own company town. Ybor considered several communities in the southern United States and decided that an area of sandy scrubland just northeast of Tampa would be the best location. In 1885, the Tampa Board of Trade helped broker an initial purchase of 40 acres of land, and Ybor quickly bought more. Cigar making was a specialized trade, and Tampa did not possess a workforce able to man the new factories. To attract employees, Ybor built hundreds of small houses for the coming influx of mainly Cuban and Spanish cigar workers, many of whom followed him from Key West and Cuba. Other cigar manufacturers, drawn by incentives provided by Ybor to further increase the labor pool, also moved in, quickly making Tampa a major cigar production center. So with all this cigar history, I made it my mission to find one, try it and bring some home to my family. This led me to King Corona. The guy working the counter was very helpful as I knew nothing about cigars. Apparently there’s a lot to know, from flavors, costs, sizes, tubes, etc. Some of them were even made locally still, which I thought was Ybor cool. lol. Not funny? I decided on a small, Amaretto flavored one. I wasn’t in it for the cigar, I was in it for the experience so he cut it for me and, conveniently located on the other side of the store, is a café with some amazing iced Cuban coffee. Score! It was quite yummy too. While enjoying my cigar and coffee, an older, round man with a Fedora settled in outside with his cigar. This is Tampa! Great experience all around!
