GREAT soups — especially on Thursdays — Broccoli Cheese soup! Yummy! Also some of the best cole slaw I’ve ever had! So far what we’ve found is great food for a good value! Try ‘em out!

This is honestly THE best hole in wall sandwich shop/bakery in all of Tampa. I always bring my family here for lunch as they owners are extremely friendly and thoughtful while serving great food which is almost impossible to find these days. My favorites are the patty melt burger and reuben. The dessert options are too good to be true so make sure to not go with an appetite. Enjoy and treasure this local gem!

Nice little Cuban sandwich here for sure! With ten tightly-fitted seats inside and a few outside, get here outside of the lunch rush. This is a small, quaint little shop, with friendly counter service and good food. I’ve had the Cuban a few times now and it’s a winner. I’m losing track of all the good Cubans I’ve had on Tampa, but this one has to make the to 5. The menu is soup, salads, and sandwiches, along with some interesting soda options and one case of baked goods(haven’t tried those yet). Sodas today included peach, grape, lime, strawberry, cream soda, root beer, and cucumber(yes, cucumber soda). I’ll be back again to try the Mr G and the chicken salad sandwiches — their descriptions sound yummy.

Great local bakery with many unique and delicious sweets. They also have novelty candy and drinks that you can’t find at most other places.

Loved the gluten free roast beef bagel… it’s a must try for anyone with GF allergies. The service is superb and the owners are the most hardworking and friendly people in the area. give them a try… you won’t regret it!

First off, let me start by saying that this place is a Seminole Heights gem. The food is always delicious and the staff is consistently very friendly and helpful. I have tried many of their sandwiches and i havent run into a bad one yet. My personal favorites are probably the Cuban and the roast beef sandwiches… both made with homemade bread… yummmmm. They also have awesome salads as well if you’re looking for a healthy option, I’ve tried there walnut, cranberry, goat cheese salad and it’s by far one of my favorite things on their whole menu and I’m not typically a salad fanatic. Other than having great things for lunch and even weekend breakfasts, Mikey’s also is a bakery, so they make their own breads and sweet treats from scratch, all of which are downright sinful. I have to say their cannolis are probably the best I’ve ever had. I’m a Seminole Heights local and I love to bring friends from out of the area for a quick bite as we make our way through the day. This place is always a hit and I will definitely continue to be a happy patron. Thanks Mikey’s, keep doing what you doing!

I’ve lived in Tampa for about a year and half and just stumbled on this place. It’s phenomenal! The place is a little small, but that’s the charm in it. Customer service is more than on par, and everyone is so friendly. My boyfriend and I came for breakfast and got biscuits and gravy, a breakfast croissant sandwich, and Cuban toast. Everything was delicious and very tasty. We also got a chocolate chip truffle cookie that was very moist and not overly sweet. Highly recommended!

It speaks volumes about the food and staff when you consider yourself a regular after only 6 months! I love this shop! Just moved to Tampa a year ago and a new friend introduced me to Mikey’s. Love coming here for the sandwiches and the sweet treats! Kayla, the baker, does an amazing job and Jessica, the friendly cashier, make it a treat to come here! They do gluten-free for those who shy away from cafes and they do it well! Sandwiches and treats alike! Seminole Heights is a cute area conveniently located in the middle of the Tampa Bay area. Make this café a must-visit for 2016!

A few friends and I stopped in for a quick lunch over the weekend. The inside is very small with a couple hightops against the wall and 2 small tables with chairs, but I also saw a few tables outside on the sidewalk. I was wanting the chicken salad sandwich on the Hawaiian bread but two people in my group beat me to it– that means free samples for Kurtis! Anyhow, they recommended the gyro which I thought was a little odd for a deli this like… but I am not one to turn down a gyro. The chicken salad sandwich could have used more chicken salad as the Hawaiian bun(while a tasty fantastic compliment) is a bit large and overpowering. My gyro was pretty good but didn’t blow me away– I thought it was par for the course on a gyro order. I had a side of potato salad and while it wasn’t my particular style, I thought it was tasty. I’d go back! There were many other options on the menu that sounded great and the staff was very nice.

Great little neighborhood sandwich shop. They have a nice selection on their menu of sandwiches and salads and a soup of the day. Also a large variety of desert cakes, pies, cookies and pastries to choose from. All the baked goods are my by their own baker and are always fresh. I have eaten there enough times that i have had the chance to try several items but my favorite three items on their menu are the Cuban, the chicken salad and their homemade vegetable soup. The Cuban is great, made with fresh Cuban bread and piled high with meat and pickles. The chicken salad is made fresh daily and they use a Hawaiian bread that has a sweet flavor and it perfectly compliments the salad. The beef soup is only available one day a week but it’s worth the wait, it’s filling and they make it with large chunks of fresh vegetables. All orders Coke with chips and a small cup of pasta salad. The pasta salad is perfection! It’s only a small side but the flavor is great, it has a kick of pepper to it and I have to admit often is the reason I choose to stop an get something. Pasta salad kind of tips the scales for me. When it’s time for desert the double fudge cake is great, they also have a red tuxedo cake I really like. My husbands favorite is the chocolate chip cookies. They are HUGE and always fresh. Whether you choose to stop and eat there or take it to go you will be pleased. It’s not a very large place inside they 5 tables or so and they also offer a table outside in case you brought your furry friend with you. I have seen the staff fill the water bowl outside for dogs 2 or 3 times in one stop, they care about your furry friend as much as you do! Definitely stop and try this place it’s down central near the health mutt it’s definitely a neighborhood gem!

A gem tucked into the heart of Seminole Heights. Walking in the front door feels like stepping into a time machine, when life moved a little slower and every meal was homemade. Since moving to Seminole Heights from Austin, TX a couple of months ago, my husband and I have eaten here almost every weekend. Perfect for when you need good food on the go. We’ve tried 5 or 6 of the sandwiches and keep coming back to the Chicken Salad Sandwich on Luau Bread. Delicious! Don’t forget to ask for a punch card.

It seems like Seminole Heights is to Tampa what Bushwick is to Brooklyn. A little enclave reinventing itself from rough and gritty to charming and hip. This little sandwich bakery shop is delightful. My party ordered: hot roast beef on marble rye with a side of cole slaw, Cuban with a side of pasta salad and a ceaser salad. All really fresh, hearty and downright delicious… We washed it all down with Sioux City Sasperilla in old school bottles! The bakery seems to have won a ton of «best ofs» so my treat loving eyes were not leaving without a taste of something sweet. We got the strawberry Danish and chocolate dipped rice Krispy treat: yes, yes and thank you! Definitely make the trek out, can’t imagine it would disappoint and it won’t break the bank either!

Wanted something light and went for a hot Reuben with a side of coleslaw. One of the best things I ate during my whole visit in the U.S. The Reuben was everything you could want. A combination of creamy, salty and beefy. The coleslaw was a nice side. Now I had to try a cannoli as well but it wasn’t my type of treat. Would I go back? Yes

I’ve only been once, but when I went I ordered 2 sandwiches, a chai tea latte, and a bunch of baked goodies. I would suggest getting luau bread for pretty much every sandwich, it’s a nice spin on the chicken salad sandwich without ruining the simplicity. Don’t skip on the cookies either! I think everything was 25 $ which isn’t bad at all for 2 sandwiches, 2 drinks, and maybe 5 or 6 pastries. Note: Not a bunch of parking & if your car is lowered/stanced… you probably can’t park directly in front.

It is places like this that make Seminole Heights so unique. This is a really charming little spot that has a TON to offer. I just discovered this place so I’ve only been 1x but I cannot wait to go back! 1. GIGANTIC, delicious cinnamon buns. You can’t resist getting one, you’ll see them in all their glory sitting among the other baked goods calling your name! 2. I told the very nice lady working that I’d love to try one of their most popular combinations– so she recommended the chicken salad sandwich paired with the pasta salad. The sandwich is served on sweet hawaiian bread and pressed. It comes with lettuce and tomato. The salad has a bit of a kick to it which makes it truly unique. Its not your traditional, loaded with mayo side pasta salad. Both were delicious! 3. They have FIVE dollar lunch specials!!! This place just gives you that perfect 1st impression. Id bet you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu! I am so excited to go back, & can’t wait to order a custom cake!

A recent weekday trip to Seminole Heights brought me to the corner of Central Avenue and Hanna. After a quick stop at the Health Mutt pet store to pick up some dog chews for my business partner’s dogs, I walked next door to Mikey’s Café for a quick lunch. Mikey’s is a small neighborhood café and bakery with a large pastry and baked goods display case, and room for about a dozen people to sit and eat lunch or dinner. The décor is a very fun, retro, 50s diner-style experience with old signage, classic soda pop bottles, and glass jars reminiscent of the old penny candy drugstore displays. You place your order at the counter, and then wait for them to call out your name once your food is ready. The menu is homemade soups(a different one each day), salads, and sandwiches. The pastry display case holds cakes & pies by the slice, plus brownies, cookies, and all sorts of cupcakes and decadent pastry treats. The sandwiches are classic deli style, with some delicious additions like Philly cheese steaks, buffalo chicken ranch on sourdough, and chicken salad on Hawaiian luau bread. I ordered a grilled cheese on sourdough, and that was a combination of three different cheeses: Swiss American, muenster & provolone served with a remoulade sauce for dunking. Ooey, Gooey deliciousness! Like all great 50s diners, they have some fantastic beverage options including a lot of old-time bottled sodas(I had Cheerwine which tastes similar to a wild cherry Dr. Pepper). You can order old-fashioned fountain sodas, ice cream floats, egg creams, and hand-spun milkshakes. Step back in time with a visit to Mikey’s and enjoy a delicious sandwich, fun fountain drink, and don’t forget a box of pastries for the office! Mikey’s opens at 11am during the week, and a little earlier on Saturdays and Sundays. Closing time is 7pm during the week, and 3pm on the weekends.

Awwww! Mikey’s! We came for the Unilocal Pups & Cupcakes event and boy… the people here were simply fantastic, as was their sampler of yummy sandwiches and pastries. We were charmed at the entire experience, so we took a box of goodies home, and disappointment was so far off the hortizon. the cookies, turnovers, etc were really deliish & a box of 5 or 6 things ran me about 8 dollars. Heck ya! Cute sitting area inside, welcoming environment, a non commercial business? Unilocal, please. I mean, Yes please. Stop in & say hey!
