Adequate food. This location on Dale Mabry was not up to par. I first visited a Mimi’s café in Denver, Colorado and all 5 of us enjoyed our breakfast.

Not closed as the site says. They’re open from 7 – 230 or so. First time being here and it’s fantastic. I got breakfast and my husband got lunch and we’re both happy wit what we got. Great customer service. In the bed band a beyond complex hidden away as the last complex on the left try not to miss it!

Do not go to Mimi’s in Brandon. The manager cannot manage Mother’s Day or a holiday. He did not make good on his site’s mistake. We were given an hour wait. We waited over an hour… seeing people seated who just came in… He told us another hour and sorry. This was for breakfast! Not worth the wait.

The pain perdue is delish, its my usual. The quiche are also great too. For specials sign up for their email club, coupons come at least 2x each month. Update Summer 2014: Well that was my original review, the ownership and menu have since changed. The coupons still come pretty regular to club members via email. As a result of a BOGO offer, I went this summer with my friend. The food was ok, but my favorite dish was no longer on the all day menu so I was bummed. Based on the poor service and management at this location, I will probably not be going back anytime soon. I only rated it 2 stars because overall the food is not horrible and I have had better experiences in the past.

there is a reason I have not been here in 8 years and coming back proved I was right. the quality is inconsistent as in service and in food. The restaurant needs a good cleaning. Take a look at the front glass door, dusty… I went for breakfast on Saturday. Toast was burnt, eggs were not even cooked well. I told the manager but he seemed irritated that I would suggest such a thing. Our coffee was horrible. We waited 20 min for the check, never got it. we left our table with what we thought the final total would be…

My reive is all about first impressions. We walked in there were empty tables galore yet a 10 min wait to be seated. While waiting I decided to use the restroom only to discover the smell of sewage was permeating the whole place. Needless to say we left never to return to this particular Mimi’s. We are willing to try out another Mimi’s location

It has been years since I have been to Mimi’s Café, I do remember my last visit as being posative dinner ecperience. An unofficial group of us met there Sunday for brunch. I gotta say the décor is somewhat dated and vintage, but it was packed with hungry dinners. Between all of us we had breakfast foods, sandwiches, salads and full meals. It was great to see this array of offerings at 1 table and be able to discuss our individual meals with each other. My first concern was when it took over a half hour to get a glass of water. My second concern came after all the orders were taken, which took 45 minutes and we still had not recieved our basket of breads. The bread finally showed up about 10 minutes before our meals started arriving. Okay I understand it was about 12 people, but that should not be overwhelming for a restaurant that has been around at least 20 years, or any restaurant for that matter. The next concern is when the food started arriving and the first 2 plates were sent back as the server or kitchen did not make the food as it was ordered. I am not exact on how many orders were wrong at the table, but that was 2 I heard the orders placed and the customer not even take the plate as the mistakes were so obvious. Another in the group had a food allergy to onions, I heard her ask if her order could be made with no onions, no problem replied the server. When it arrived it was covered in diced green onions, come on really? Did she really need to specify white, yellow, purple, green onions and shallots? Thankfully she noticed it right away and no paramedics were necessary. This is all just gross negligence on the restraunts part. Either the server did not relay the orders correctly, the kitchen decided to cook without reading the tickets, the kitchen expadater was non existent or asleep and obviously the server did not check her orders when she pivked them up in the kitchen. Okay LOL, my order and food was half delicious. I ordered the chorizo, mushroom and red pepper omlet. The omlet was a bit dry, but had great flavors. It was served with this thick red pepper or something like that piled way too high and heavy on the omlet, it was overwhelming, so I removed it all and the omlet was quite flavorful. The home fries were over seasoned with their Italian herbs, but they forgot the first ingredients, the salt and pepper. The home fries were cooked, but not properly. They should have had a harder outside than the inside. When I was almost at the end of my meal, I finally got the servers attention and asked if a roll was supposed to come with my meal, she said yes, but I didn’t want it, I explained that was a mistake and she wanted to know what kind of roll I wanted. What is the problem with this picture? They have multiple roll choices and I am supposed to know what they are? She started naming some off and I took the honey one that sounded healthy. It arrived cold, my omlet was eaten and the home fries were going to remain on my plate. The roll looked promising, as I tried a nibble, if it had been warm, I think it would have been the winner of my meal. I am just glad it was a fairly priced meal and it is sad to think the roll may have been the star of the show, if it had been given a chance to shine. One last concern, it was regrettable that the server had several people show their driver’s license to prove it was their debit/credit card she was returning to them, when she only had 3 checks in her hand. What’s a girl to do? Brunch with friends, yes next time it will be at a new location.

My wife likes Mimis due to BOGO coupon. She raves about the coffee. Good compliment coming from her. She would give a higher rating. Me, I like omeletes… Mimis taste like soap. Really, I have had three of different kinds. The ingredients are chopped so fine you do not know what they are. High cost for low quantity. Coffee ok, service ok, I ate their bacon and eggs last week, good but what a price! I do like the muffins! Blueberry! We are going back again this morning as soon as my wife spends a half hour mining her inbox for Mimi’s BOGO.

Great food, Sara was a great server. We had the Le Grande breakfast with the corned beef hash and the has benedict. Both were delish

I wanted to give Mimi’s a second chance before writing my review. If I had based this only on my first visit, it would have been 1 – 2 stars. We visited for brunch on a weekend and arrived near the end of brunch. The restaurant looked like it had been quite busy with the church crowd, which was evident from the number of unbussed tables and general level of clutter everywhere. I am a bigger fan of breakfast than my sweetie so I went for a Pyrannes Omelet — ham, mixed peppers, caramelized onions and cheese. I also wanted to try the corn chowder as a starter. Sweetie is a sucker for a burger with an egg on it and the burger Madame whispered his name. Our server took a bit to bring our coffee(not good as far as ways to start our day and our visit) but brought some bread for us to nosh on shortly after. Next thing we knew our food arrived and I gently inquired about my soup. It showed up when we were about ½ way through our entrees. The food was good, but nothing mind-blowing and the sort of ditzy, hiccup-prone service and sort of trashed dining area did not leave me with a great impression. Fast forward a few months and a friend suggested Mimi’s for a quick lunch. I am so happy to say it was a much different experience. They offer a combo for lunch with mix and match sammies, soups, and salads. I was a little disappointed on behalf of my friend that even though Mimi’s offers options like Tomato soup, none of their soups are vegetarian so not an option for her. She went with their 5-way grilled cheese and a salad. I did the BBLT, a BLT on brioche and a side salad. Maybe I’m just dumb but I think of Brioche as an egg bread unless otherwise listed. Apparently it is just thick toast since the waiter gave me a selection of breads to choose from. The sandwich was good — just enough bacon — and my spinach salad was a good balance of veggies, greens and dressing. Our iced teas were kept topped up(excellent as we were doing some catching up) and our service was great. Unlike my last visit, the areas of the restaurant I saw were clean and tidy. Overall — I can’t say Mimi’s would be my first choice, but with the right deal or if someone else suggested it, I know I can get something good with a good experience.

I remember going to the Brandon Mimi’s, and it was pretty good. Today, it was a failure. I was with seven others at the time. The bread was good. It could have been a little more baked, though. They were out of pot roast, the oven roasted chicken, and we got the very last coq a vin. When the manager came to us, we ordered steaks instead– for an extra five dollars– without an I’m-sorry gift. The lack of food was okay though, since it was Mother’s Day, and they probably had a huge rush earlier. Other than that, the coq a vin was one of the good things we were served. However, the steak and two hamburgers(both ordered medium-well) were undercooked, and the orders were wrong. Both cheeseburgers were ordered plain, but came with the thousand island dressing. The waitress had an excuse for everything, didn’t fully know the menu, and forgot to give us silverware. I’m just disappointed, since I had a good experience at the branch in Brandon.

I have to admit I honestly enjoyed this place… Décor– well lets just say its a tad out dated. Food-Excellent Service-Pretty good. Overall experience was pleasant but you can tell a lot of senior citizens eat there, I was kind of hoping it would be more of a café like but overall food was good and I will definitely return.

I heard great things about their breakfasts so I stopped on in for lunch. The waitress kept running from our table as soon as we paused speaking and on two occasions I had to call after her to complete our order. Our wine flights were delivered in dingy glasses and we had no clue which wine was which, so even if I wanted to I couldn’t order another glass. For someplace that people tend to rave about I was less than impressed by their French American fare, the food lacked dimension and flavor. The highlight of the dinner was the muffins of the bread basket and the dessert assortment. I don’t recommend going here if you want good service or good food but baked items are ok

The food was delicious, and the service was top notch. Wait staff checked on us multiple times and the manager came by to check on us when we got our son poured salt all over my wife’s French toast. And the manager brought out a new French toast. No charge. My only critique it’s that it is funny hOw the menu butchers the French language. I recommend s menu rewrite on the language.

I had never been to a Mimi’s Café before and I was really looking forward to trying out their online ordering, especially after I learned that they have an iPhone app. I placed an online order and made my way over to pick it up. When I walked in there wasn’t anyone at the host stand. «Not a big deal, I’ll just wait for them to come back.» I thought. Then I waited, and waited, and waited some more. Every once in a while I would make some awkward eye contact with a server that was going in/out of the dining area with an «Are you the one that is going to help me?» look on my face. No one ever acknowledged me. After waiting for what felt like an eternity I decided to go and try and find someone to help me. The person I ended up stopping seemed bewildered and went to get someone else. After some initial confusion my to-go order was eventually located. I got the Poulet à l’Orange Crêpes and I thought that they were«ok». There was way too much orange sauce for my liking. By the time I got my meal home and started eating it the abundance of sauce had made parts of the crêpe soggy. Some of my relatives really like going to Mimi’s Café. I would give this place another chance with a sit-down meal, but I don’t see any more takeout orders from here in my future.

Breakfast at Mimi’s is where it’s at! Order the muffins if you can, order all of them and share-that’s what we did. When my family and I arrived at Mimi’s we had a reservation for breakfast and they had the table all set up and ready to go. This visit we were with my twin nieces so they ever had the high-chairs ready with some cheerio’s! Our server had water on the table for us and offered coffee as soon as we arrived. When it was time to order I opted to try the pumpkin pancakes and my sister ordered the strawberry waffles so that we could share! Smart thinking because both dishes were delicious. The muffins were passed around among the 5 of us and we had some great conversation. I do enjoy Mimi’s for breakfast and recommend checking this out if you are in the area. Service has been good to me, but I guess that can be something that changes with each server. The food is good and that’s really what I go for.

The best things about Mimi’s, the friendly staff and the décor, it’s so cute… BUT the turkey dinner I had was not any thing special, don’t get me wrong it wasn’t bad but I have had much better …

I had breakfast here this morning. I was surprised to see a large number of cars out front than realized this was Carrollwood and the number of places serving breakfast for some reason is limited. But is was good to see that many people here. I had their buttermilk muffin and their Mardi Gras omelette. The muffin was light but filling and pretty darn good. The omelette was decent in both size and taste. The red potatoes on the side was good. All in all, not a bad breakfast. Between a 3 and 4 star. I picked 4, deciding I would go back at some time in the future.
