Good. the hot cakes are really delicious. After being told there was a 15 min wait at village in we went to moms and were seated immediately. Great food friendly service and awesome tasting water. You should come to moms I am happy I did. The service is exceptional.

Great food, classic diner, been coming here for years! Lunch rush gets busy as with any restaurant but they have it down to a science and get people in and out. Shockingly quick food at the table after ordering when they are at their busiest. I usually get the gyros(tzakai sauce is on point with sponge docks restaurants with plenty of meat unlike other places) or a burger but always hear from co-workers that their food is always good too

This is a diner-style breakfast place with all the typical dishes. I had 2 eggs with bacon, a biscuit, hash browns and a Belgian waffle(yes, I was hungry!) The food came out fast and hot and my coffee didn’t get more than half empty before it was refilled. Nothing was extraordinary, it was just a good hardy meal. They loose a star because it is cash only. They have an ATM on-site but it’s a $ 2.85 fee to get money.

Another local gem with a huge menu of traditional diner faves, great pricing, huge portions and great service. Be prepared to wait for a table because it’s very popular and how can it not be. The location across from the Bucs stadium on Dale Mabry also doesn’t hurt. I’m a creature of habit, so when I can have a fresh turkey sandwich I am in. Don’t know why so many places use processed deli meat when they can easily roast some birds. My son loves the Belgian waffles too. Just beware they are CASH only, but conveniently have an ATM. They will also not seat you unless you’re whole party is present. Yet they never rush you and can flip those tables incredibly fast!

Classic little dive restaurant that must not be underestimated. They have lots of food to choose from. Pretty big menu from Your normal breakfast dishes to burgers steak soups Greek salads etc… but their must try is their gyros. Seriously some of the best gyros around hands down. The prices aren’t bad either you definitely get what you pay for. This place has been around forever. I remember coming here has a kid and I still visit this restaurant least once a month. The staff at moms are great very friendly and helpful. I’ve never once seen this place dirty the staff maintain a clean restaurant at all times. Now they are a little old school when it comes time to pay cash only no credit cards. They do have a atm but it’s best to bring cash to avoid the 2 dollar atm fee. Moms restaurant normally closes at 3pm so it’s only a breakfast /lunch spot no dinner here. I highly recommend this place for everyone their good for groups or kids. Pretty much that all around just good home cooked food. They beat any ihop /Denny’s restaurant any day of the week.

Yesterday, My brother in law had lunch here. This was a frequent place when he and my sister lived in that part of town. Service, hospitality and food were all great. As of yesterday, we all will never give them our business. When my brother in law handed the owner, who works the register, a $ 20 bill to pay an $ 18.70 check, she asked him if she was keeping the change. He told her, no. her response…“What, are you Jewish?” He told her he wasn’t but was married to someone who is. Not sure what she was thinking about that but disgusted that this happened. Mom’s Place… see ya no more!

Friend had lunch there yesterday. The owner wanted to keep the change when he was paying his $ 18 bill with a $ 20 and then she(the owner) asked him if he was Jewish when he wanted his change back. What kind of ignorant awful comment is that. This is definitely one restaurant that won’t be seeing my business ever again.

Come here about once a month and I’m always satisfied. Their liver and onions is the best I’ve had and growing up hating it; my tastes have changed and it’s amazing here especially smothered in gravy. I’m a huge fan of the S.O.S. Platter aka chipped beef with a runny egg on top. It’s a total dive spot so don’t expect something fancy but the food is on point. They are ALWAYS packed so they are definitely doing something right. The staff is so friendly and the service is quick. Sometimes during spring training season in February and March you might be sitting behind some Yankee players so don’t be surprised if you see Arod or Jeter in there.

Very cheap choices, but I was disappointed with my meal. If I didn’t see potential in this place, I would probably give it 2 stars. This place is packed at lunch and closed at dinner. There are a lot of older people who come here. It’s probably because it is so cheap. It was so crowded that we ended up waiting about 15 minutes for a table. The turnover is pretty fast, so don’t despair even if it looks like you’ll never get a seat. I got the meat loaf lunch special. That meant I got a soup with it. I had the creamy potato soup. It comes quick since they just ladle it out of a container. It wasn’t bad, really hot. I was very disappointed with my meatloaf. Honestly, I wasn’t even sure if it was meat. It seemed like it was pounded to an oblivion. I would not suggest it to anyone. So why the 3 stars? I blame myself for choosing meatloaf at a diner. I should have stuck with the breakfast staples. I’ll give this place another chance one day, and when I do, I’ll get breakfast.

I don’t know what the fuss is all about for this place, the three stars I gave it is for friendliness and fast services, otherwise the place is beyond outdated, the food is bland and tasteless and the plastic flowers decoration are overwhelming and all over the place. That’s it for me, my first and last time to this place.

Mom’s place is an excellent place to get a home cooked meal at an affordable price. Food was fresh and it came out promptly and hot. Service was efficient. Would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area.

Good simple hometown down home kind of fare and patrons. Prices are very reasonable with quite a variety of dishes. Knocked it down one star due to very poor coffee and mediocre grits.

Love this place. You walk in and you’ll instantly see everyone else does too. Unless you go right before they close(late lunch) odds are you’ll have to wait a few minutes. But they’re definitely worth the 5 minutes to wait. They only take cash so make sure you have some or you’ll be using their on site atm. The foods always great and servers have almost all been there as long as I can remember(over ten years).

Went there for lunch. It is within walking distance from the holiday Inn express. Cash only but ATM available. Old fashioned diner. The food was good, in our group we had an open face turkey, hot beef, and chicken fried steak. Tossed salad was fresh, vegetable soup was hot and full of veggies as expected and included with lunch. All were tasty. Breakfast looks to be equally popular through lunch.

After driving past Mom’s Place for the last 4 years I couldn’t take it anymore. I was meeting 2 friends for Saturday breakfast and it was my turn to pick the location, and Mom’s Place it was. My friends were excited, they had both been there before and loved the place. It is small and just what a diner should be, full of pictures and years of memorabilia. My friends ordered so much food I was shocked, they said they didn’t care if they didn’t finish it all, they wanted to taste a little bit of everything they love.(One recently moved out of state so was back visiting and NEEDED it). I ordered the eggs and biscuits and gravy and it was so yummy and CHEAP!!! I can see why they have been in business for so many years. If you have a group, be prepared to wait though!

Mom’s? Oh yeah, Mom’s rocks. This diner is a gem. Real old fashion, mom & pop and all the kids kind of place. Just try to get in here for lunch, let alone breakfast. The owner and waitresses(most could be your mom) do a great job of rotating tables and although you’ll probably have to wait, it shouldn’t be too long and will definitely be worth the wait. Cheeseburger and fries? about 6.75 gets you one of the best burgers around. Good fries too. Salads? Do it. Breakfast? The place. Parking can be tough due to the crowds but there is more parking out back. Plenty of Yankee memorabilia behind the front counter. Mom!!! I’m hungry.

What a dive! But it has such good food and prices, you must keep returning. Breakfast has everything and anthing you could want. Eggs, hash, waffles… But, one of my favorites that is hard to find when eating out is good old chipped beef. Theirs is so creamy, without being gooey, lots of chipped beef that has a great flavor, not to salty. Have it on top of biscts, bread, English muffin, toast… whatever they have available. Have it as entrée or side, either way if you are a fan you will love it. As a matter of fact you will like any breakfast item you get here. After many years of partaking of their food, at bteakfast, all has been good. I will do another on lunch, as that is a whole different story. Owners are/were Greek influenced and it shows in family recipies. Hate their ladies room, but love their food. What’s a girl to do? Go eat.

Mom’s Place is a classic 70s-style diner located along Dale Mabry Highway just north of the stadium. They’re open 7 days a week for breakfast and lunch, and there is usually a wait if you’re there during the peak rush times. The diner serves classic breakfast fare — eggs, omelets, waffles, pancakes, etc. along with a truly bottomless mug of steaming coffee, fresh juices, milk, tea, and soda. Mom’s also makes up some quite tasty biscuits with sausage gravy. I like their 3-egg omelet menu with dozens and dozens of choices ranging from vegetarian, through all of the breakfast standards, and into some exotic options like Cajun shrimp Creole or Mediterranean(Gyro meat, onions, tomatoes, Feat cheese and tsatziki dipping sauce). The omelets are served with your choice of breads and potatoes. For me, it’s always the classic diner hash browns with a homemade, flaky buttermilk biscuit. For lunch, Mom’s is the place for sandwiches, burgers, wraps, salads, and surprisingly-good Greek food. Gyros, souvlaki, and pastitsio are available, and all of them are quite tasty. The diner has a very loyal following, including a lot of Tampa Bay sports stars, NY Yankees Spring Training players & fans, media celebrities, and the guys who work in the auto dealerships along Dale Mabry. The waitresses have been there for years, and they know their frequent customers — and even their favorite dishes. Don’t expect any fancy decorations or table fare. This is a classic old school diner where the menu options seem endless, the food arrives quickly and it’s darned tasty, and the servers are extremely friendly. Make sure that you have enough cash for your meal as they do not accept any plastic or checks. But not to worry, the meals are extremely affordable.
