Muvico Theaters

Not bad, a nice place, good refreshments and nice decorations. It was a long walk to the theater and bathroom but otherwise a very nice place. Arrive early for parking. There is a nice street scene with places to walk and things to see.

My wife and I went here to see the movie Deadpool. The movie had been out for a little while and the theater was not really packed which is a good thing.
The theater is well it, seem to have the right amount of people working there, and all the employees seemed relatively friendly and accommodating. The prices at the snack bar are high, but in line with that of other movie theaters, where you are a captive audience and there are no other options.
The theater itself as comfortable seating, it was very clean, and the quality of the picture and sound were spot-​on. There is nothing about this theater that makes it any better or worse than most other theaters. This is a solid place to catch a movie if you live or happen to be in the area.

I have been to this place more than couple of times. This place is usually empty and it’s amazing. I went to see the showing of première show of Eye in the Sky, the week before the official release and there were maybe 50 people in the theater. The movie is amazing. Loved the décor style of this theater. Seats were pretty comfortable.
Very reasonably priced. I thought from the décor that everything would be really pricey but was actually cheaper than other theaters I have been too. The D-​Box section is amazing, and highly recommended so you can actually feel the movie! Well organized and a very friendly staff! They also serve alcoholic beverages which I thought was quite unique.

Looking for a decently-​priced theater right in the smack middle of Tampa? Well head down to Ybor and grab yourself a couple of tickets and a bowl of popcorn!
Muvico Theaters is one of the few theaters I actually enjoy going to in Tampa. Not only because of the great daily deals, but also because the theater is very nicely laid out and is kept pretty clean. The staff members are very knowledgable about the movie selections and are always willing to help you find ways to save money.
Can’t go wrong here.
PS. Come between 4:00 — 5:30PM for the $ 5.75 deal movies!

Great upbeat place to come and see a movie with friends or family. The concessions are pricey but what theater isn’t these days? The place is clean and sound system is good.

Very rude customer service. Came in and the guy at the counter was on his cell phone and acted like we were bothering him. Talked to us like we were idiots. I can’t believe they let people like that work here. No one there looked like they wanted to work there. We bought tickets and they even gave us the wrong movie. It was not a good experience going here. Would not recommend going here at all.

A great movie theater. It’s never too crowded. Food and drink prices are ridiculous, like all movie theaters are.

Use to be a great theatre, you can tell they are barely holding on. And cold popcorn along side broken seats. I will send flowers to the Funeral of this once great theater.

It’s been a while since I came to Ybor to watch a movie. I was a bit confused when I walked up to the ticket counter to see a sign that said to proceed straight to the concession stand to purchase a ticket. I guess a smart move in a way to upsell and appeal to people to just buy something else at the same time they’re getting their wallets out. The theater is a run of the mill standard movie theater. The cloth seats are fairly comfy and recline a small bit. Overall a pretty decent movie going experience if that’s what your heart desires when you’re in the area.

Great movie theater in Ybor city. Five dollar movies! Can’t beat it! Took my daughter to see the good dinosaur and she loved it. Theatre was almost empty, it felt like we had it to ourselves! Seats were very comfy. Staff was great.
Kids popcorn box was a good deal!

Nice standard theater, whimsical décor, reasonably competent though jaded workers. Some seats could use minor repair, but the place is clean. One thing I really appreciated was that they had the surround sound properly calibrated. We only realized here that the first time we saw Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the sound was NOT calibrated properly so we didn’t get all the interesting audio effects (the swirling wind and snow, the ambient bar sounds, etc.). They’ve gone back to making popcorn «butter» self-​serve so that peculiar oily yellow goo comes out of a spout next to the self serve butter. Personally, I prefer this arrangement as it serves as a disincentive to getting a big tub of popcorn (that I don’t pay attention to how much I’m eating from), as you just can’t salt and «butter» the bigger sizes evenly. The location is perfect, steps (some of them upward) from the number 2 TECO Streetcar station, and a wide selection of very similar bars. We bought the tickets, got inebriated, saw the movie, walked to dinner, drank some more, rode safely back to the hotel.

This place is always empty and it’s amazing! We went to see the showing of Mockingjay Part 2 the day before the official release and there were maybe fifteen people in there. Since the worst part of seeing a movie in a theater is the strangers you’re forced to spend two hours with, this is my go-​to theater for maximum alone time with the boyfriend, expensive candy, and the movie I want to see.

I went to this theatre to watch Straight Outta Compton. I know, I know, I was begging for it. I got it. Of course there were drunk peeps all over their phones thru the entire thing. Arguing, yelling at each other during the movie. It was a shit show. There was no presence in the theatre at all. I saw one employee who sold tickets. They never even took tickets after that, that was it. Why would I have not gone to the Villagio? Ugh. Nevar again.

I love this theatre. As a channelside resident it is just down the road and after quite a few movies now I have yet to be disappointed. The only reason I can’t justify giving it a perfect score is that for months now the self service kiosks have not been working and all tickets are bought and redeemed through the service counter which sometimes gets pretty backed up. Not sure if this is an off peak thing as we never come at a busy time or they just have no desire to get it up and working.
They also have d box seats that you can upgrade to that are an experience in their own. Compared to a normal ticket it’s pretty pricey, but for that big action flick it’s a really neat experience that for once you can’t replicate at home.

If I pick the theater for a movie… it’s always this one in Ybor. The other reviews highlight that it’s rarely packed and quiet, I completely agree and is usually the main reason why I pick this location. The ones closer to my house or the other popular spots are usually so packed with giggling kids it takes away from my experience: P. The seating is average. No reclining chairs or extra large plush seats, but it’s comparable to most cinemas of its kind.
The staff has always been friendly and accommodating. On several occasions when I’ve gone for a late movie they have offered to make me a fresh batch of popcorn (without a request from me). I always appreciate that :). I tend to get a lot stale popcorn at the Veterans location when I go for a late showing.
For a while it was one of the few theaters that served alcoholic beverages, now all the theaters seem to have it. The drinks are great, not super expensive. I appreciate the option.
The location is great… it’s in the middle of the commercial Ybor area. If you’re doing dinner and a movie… there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. If you get there early, there are several bars nearby. I would say calculate into your travel time how long it will take you to walk there from where you park. It’s not far at all, but if you’re expecting to park right outside the theater and make it inside within 2 minutes that’s probably not going to happen. There is a parking garage that in my experience has always had parking available about 5 – 7 minutes away and there’s street parking all over the place. Just remember that the street parking is not always guaranteed depending on the day, hour, or how crowded Ybor gets.

Well it’s not called this anymore but it’s still a nice place. Movies for grown ups. Good food and drinks plus ybore just our side so party it up.

What a pretty place. Hit up Samurai Blue and make it to your movie on time. Centro Ybor is fun and it’s close to my home. You can have a drink if you like during the movie and the ambiance is amazing and cute like you’re in a computer generated world. I know I mention the bathrooms a lot in my reviews but cleanliness is super important to me. I figure if the bathrooms are clean, so are the kitchens. And these bathrooms are spotless. I love this place and I love movies so I’m here about once a month. It’s a great local go to!

You cannot beat the $ 5 movies and $ 2 concessions they offer Monday through Thursday nights. A great way to kill time on a weekday evening with the kid (s) without spending a fortune on entertainment. The theater is clean and well maintained, seats are comfortable, the staff is friendly and attentive, and there is little to no traffic during the week.

Saw a movie on a Tuesday night for $ 5, yep $ 5! The concession stand has $ 2 items (small popcorn, small sodas, or candy). What a great deal! They also offer beer and wine. Chairs are comfy and recline. Theater was very clean which is always a plus. You can park in the garage for $ 1.

The Muvico in Ybor City is a treat.
The surrounding area is lively and tidy with loads of character and a plethora of activities.
The theater is clean for the most part with a nice on-​going theme of a classic cinema highlighting the magic of motion pictures.
Overall, a great experience.
