So it appears that this place is closed for good. I am not surprised. When I visited early in the year it was a major disappointment.

Just tried to visit this place for lunch on 11÷13÷14 and there is a sign on the door saying it is «permanently closed, thanks for the many years of great business» unfortunate as the reviews sounded great.

Unfortunately this place has closed! I have been eating here since I was a small child! If you want a really amazing sandwich avoid the chain place and come here! My favorites are the Robin Hood and the Friar Tuck. Call in your order if you’re in a hurry because this place gets slammed during lunch!

One hundred % truth. My husband and I just ate at the Indian place and we came to see what is this place about. We bought honey and cashier took money, checked if anybody was paying atention, and then he put money in his pocket. Great place. Sorry for the owner. He is loosing money. It’s just not right and he did in front of the costumers.

Just moved to Tampa to start my graduate school and found this place on Unilocal. At first I was little overwhelmed by the big menu so I went and ordered something at random, the guy who took my order noticed I was new(this made me think I come to a good place since they have usual costumers). So the guy recommended me the P.T. Boat for my next visit so I just went for it and told him to change my order, THEBESTSANDWICH I’VEEVEREATEN. DEFINITELY coming back and DEFINITELY will bring everyone I know(family and friends). Believe me, of I could give them more than five stars I WOULD!

Wow, memories, I used to be a regular here when I lived closer. They sure had a bad Monday, they were out of salami and had no soup. The place was packed and the phone orders arrived repeatedly. It is located, hidden in a strip center on the West side of 56th Street. I placed my order right away, for a muffaletta sandwich, always reminds me of New Orleans, yum. After about 30 minutes of staring out the window one of the 4 very busy sandwich masters came to my table to inform me they were out of salami and if I wanted that sandwich, the best he could do is replace the salami with roast beef, ok, no problem, a new experience. 30 minutes latter my name was called(it is self service), I paid for my sandwich and sat down and it was a vegetarian, not my sandwich. I went back up and got my sandwich and opened it up to check the olive salad. There was such a tiny thin layer of the olives the taste was nonexistent. The roast beef, relacing the missing salami, was also missing. Basically I had a ham & some cheese sandwich on a great onion rool. Hey, ok, I like that, but not exactly what I had been thinking about for an hour. Obviously the weekend crew left them in the weeds and the Monday crowd got to pay for their mistakes. This place is always busy & calling in your order is the best way to go. They had a bad day and I am glad this was not my first visit, because if it had been, it would be the last visit. Usually all their wonderful sandwiches are spot on, just my luck to go on the wrong day! Muffaletta sandwiches don’t grow on trees and you aren’t going to find them at Subway. Today, not even the miniature Footsie Roll helped. Overall it was a bad experience at a good establishment. What’s a girl to do? Now that I almost had a delicious muffaletta sandwich, I have to go find one to satisfy my craving.

Service was very slow but friendly. The place was nothing fancy. My muffaletta was pretty good. I loved the olive spread on it

The sandwiches I’ve had(Robin Hood & Cuban) have both been really fresh and have exceeded my expectations. But why 3 stars? Their sides. I got a small side of macaroni salad(almost $ 1) and I got 7 noodles(yes, I counted) in a condiment container that was smaller than the palm of my hand. To top it off they forget to put it in my bag so I had to drive back for 7 noodles. Sure I could’ve gotten the bigger side but that one seems too large for one person while the other just seems like it’s packaged for ants

Honestly not sure what all the hype is about. Small sandwich slow service very pricey for the same basic crap at subway. No hormone free meat, not top ingredients, gluten free for get it! Heck they use iceberg lettuce. Overpriced, slow & blah!

We have been to lunch a few times here, but this is by far the worst experience that we have had. Went to lunch today and wasn’t pleased. We had the Chicken Noodle soup which two of the three soups had NO chicken in them. The pastrami sandwiches we had were ordered with Swiss cheese, but didn’t come with cheese. We complained about this, but were only told that they was cheese in them, even though it was clear that there was no cheese in them. Lastly, we ordered a chicken salad which tasted more like Tuna. I believe that since the owner wasn’t in the building, our service was not up to the appropriate level.

Unbelievably rude and does not uphold to advertised hours. If your business is open until 4:00PM, then that means you serve EVERYTHING on the menu until then. We should have learned our lesson last month when at 3:30 pm they told us we had to order and eat outside. The short haired(skinny/short) young woman told us «This is how its always been.» And when I told her I would voice my complaint she said, «go ahead.» We will never visit again.

Went here by searching Unilocal and glad it was recommended. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted promptly by the staff and offered instruction on the menu and ordering. They recommended selections but still allowed us the opportunity to browse and decide for ourselves. The prices were fair and the food was excellent. There was so much to choose from we’ll have to go back and give the rest a try. It’s a simple sandwich shop with excellent food. Don’t expect a fancy dining experience. I get the impression that they make most of their money on lunch others from local businesses. But when you’re food’s this good that shouldn’t be a problem. If you’re in the area and need a good lunch, don’t hesitate to stop in and order a Friar Tuck, a Little John, or even a piece of homemade cheesecake. You won’t be disappointed!

Killer sandwiches on soft, fluffy rolls. Really friendly service. I hadn’t been there before so they voluntarily walked me through the top 3 most popular items. I went for the Nottingham Forest sandwich — it’s pretty epic. I loved the olive spread and how they layer the meats in «sections» — you’ll see what I mean when you order. Atmosphere is not the reason to go to this place, and there is not much of it. It’s pretty dated and lame, but this review is based on their sandwiches only. You can sit at tables outside if you wish.

The name of this business is deceiving. It is not an actual cheese shop(but a deli with gourmet sandwiches and soup). My boyfriend and I had different sandwiches(and both were good). However, I wouldn’t go out of the way for them. I gave the business a higher rating based on their customer service. Everyone in the deli(again it is not an actual cheese shop) was friendly. Although, one of the employees was break outside; they went out of their way to wish us a good day on our way out. I appreciated the employee’s extra attention to customer service.

One of the better sandwich shops in the area. It is a bit cheesy how they brand themselves but the sandwiches are pretty good. It certainly is a better alternative to Jimmy John’s or Subway. They have a pretty big selection and variety. It is fresh and most sandwiches are toasted. The service is okay. It could be more professional and they are a bit slow especially if you are working professional looking to get in and get out ASAP. The décor is very dated and very cheesy(lame). It looks like early 1980s. They should remodel and go with a cleaner, brighter, smoother look. I would change the Robin Hood theme too. From a business standpoint, I don’t think Robin Hood appeals to any demographic that is worth targeting and it doesn’t really work for a sandwich shop.

I wish I had found this place earlier. This has to be the most reasonably priced, made-to-order sandwich shop in all of Tampa. For $ 6.95, I got a huge Reuben(the King Rube-in) sandwich. They used pumpernickel bread instead of rye and gave the option of spicy mustard vs Thousand Island. The corned beef was only okay, and Wright’s Gourmet toasts their bread better, but for the price, I cannot complain. Staff was very friendly.

Seriously, this place is gonna be «starred» on my Google map and Unilocal bkmrk until it decides to shut down! food: awesome! I ordered Rocky Road, Friar Tuck, and Too Mutch, ALLVERYDELICIOUS! My family and I had great time here and enjoyed the food very much.(We have party of 5). The pumpernickel and rye bread is very chewy and delicious, ingredients for the sandwich is fresh… the only thing I wouldn’t recommend are the soups, they are too salty, for my group anyways. We couldn’t resist to buy their homemade garlic cheese spread too ;) service: very friendly staff and great dine-in atmosphere. price: very affordable with generous portions, totally worth it! We spent about $ 27 for 3 sandwiches and 2 bowls of soup, everyone happy belly full of sandwiches afterwards: D

Okay, you may get lost finding this place, but it is so worth it. It is setback in a non-descript strip mall and the sign is not large. Look for the long pale green strip center on the east side of the road and pull in, you will eventually see it. This in not a table service restaurant, so step up to the counter and order a Robin Hood(my fave), Too Much, Sherwood Forest or other aptly named sandwiches. They are fantastic and the vibe is very unique. WARNING the sandwiches are HUGE! But everything I tried there has been delicious.

Deliciously fresh sandwiches. Fast friendly service. Lots of parking available. FREE refills on all drinks(even iced tea!) and they encourage you to fill up your cup before you leave, that’s awesome! We had the«Too Mutch» and«Garden of Edam» both of the only vegetarian sandwiches on the menu. «Too Mutch» was the winner hands down. I think it was the dressing they put on the sandwich. It was delicious. Probably not as healthy as «Garden of Edam» but whatevs, when I’m already eating an entire sandwich full of sprouts, I go for taste. We got some chips and headed outside to sit in the shade(there’s inside seating as well), an awesomely perfect lunch. Lots of outdoor seating available. The only thing I didn’t like(which is why they got 4 starts) is the use of only styrofoam plates and cups… I know they’re cheap and the economy sucks and every small business is just trying to stay afloat, but… I still feel like everyone should be doing their part to save the earth. That’s a lot of styrofoam! Next time I’m going to try the tuna melt and the BLT… PS: Even though they only have 2 vegetarian sandwiches on the menu, the woman behind the counter assured me that they could make any sandwich vegetarian upon request, sweet!
