Ah, the Pegasus Lounge… Now, THAT’S a dive bar. Dank, somewhat dark, with a lingering odor, the Pegasus just oozes personality. As it is also a packing store, the bar is well stocked and their drink prices average for a dive bar. There are a couple of pool tables and a decent sized stage, with a pretty good sound guy. There’s also a jukebox for those rare evenings there isn’t any live music to be found. Another huge local music supporter, Julie and the Pegasus have given local musicians a place to play for many years(I’ve been going off/on since 2001, before they had an actual stage). They have plenty of «theme nights» to entertain customers, including open mic/jams on Tuesdays, and Pornoke on Wednesdays, which is people singing karaōke while porn videos play on the screen behind them. If you aren’t easily offended, you must check this out. The owner and barstaff are very friendly, with Paula being a personal fav. Seriously, if you dig dive bars as well as local music, you gotta ive the Pegasus Lounge a shot. You won’t be disappointed.

Horrible experience. I recommend better lighting, more customer service and better bands. I will not be back.

It’s a dive. Leave your expectations(and hand sanitizer) at the door! Lots of good beer on tap and characters all around! They have a stage where they feature live local bands, and tons of theme nights throughout the week(um, I’ll be returning for pornaoke!).

What a fucking dump! I love it! This joint has been around forever. I’ve been hearing about it since I was in high school. Sort of a legendary dive, if you will. Dark, dank and smelling like a septic tank, this is the perfect place to cool down and grab a cold one. Bartenders are friendly and their selection is surprisingly large for such a small bar. Will definitely return.

This place is a total dive and smells bad but the bartenders are friendly and attentive and the owner is nice. They make the best out of very little. It’s mostly a collage kid hang out. Live shows are garage acts but they are usually free. So its cool that there is a place for ‘up and comers’ to play. Karaōke is fun. The biggest negative is the drinks are not as cheep as one would think. They really need more specials and cheap beer.

Oh, man. Pegasus Lounge brings back lots of memories from college. It’s dirty, it’s filled with bikers, and it’s a total dive. Except for the cigarette smoke, I love this place. Seriously, if I didn’t get a cold after ever visit to Pegasus because the cigarette smoke was so strong, I would give this place 5 stars and I probably would have been there more when I was living in Tampa. I think the smoke is so strong because of how closed in the place is. There really isn’t anywhere for the smoke to go, and there are so many people in there with cigs in hand. I love that they have a variety of live bands. One of my friends had a show there during my freshman year, and we went. That was my first visit to Pegasus and I liked it. As I got older, I didn’t love the cover charge because I was anti-cover after I turned 21 and decided that these bars wanted too much of my money when they asked for cover and expected me to buy drinks, but I digress… I came back every now and then for pornaoke. Yep, that’s right. This place plays porn on a big projection screen behind the stage while people get up and do karaōke. My favorite was when my friends went up and belted out No Scrubs while two chicks were getting it on behind them. I mean, where else would that ever happen? Crazy awesome. I love a good dive bar, and I like Pegasus, just in small doses because of all the smoke.

well. this really and truly is a dive bar. Low, dingy ceilings, a bathroom that requires a chemical bath and decontamination after a quick visit and rough edged patrons. Loved the live music scene and friendly bartender — I felt very welcome.

My biggest problem with this place is that it’s dirty. The space is extremely cramped, I have never seen anyone play with those pool tables they advertise. I suppose on really slow nights, you will break out the pool tables but usually there is a slab of wood on top of them. I’ve gone here for pornaoke. «Where it doesn’t matter how you sing it’s never as bad as the porn!» You like that– me and my friend made it up. Pretty much… you sing… with porn in the background. It’s a pretty easy concept. Four years ago this place was an «it-spot». I loved the acid-induced local art on the walls and the socks and whatever-the-hells on the ceilings leftover from past parties. It’s not like that anymore, it’s like a barren, unoriginal basment bar. It used to be grungy but not GROSS. The bar still caters to the alternative crowd, goth, rockers etc etc etc. 1 in 10 people have b.o.

We had never been to this bar before. We went here to watch Vain Rachell play. It’s a rock n roll, dive bar . We arrived around 10:30 and a band called Pine Hill was onstage playing.(Who knew that Willy Nelson plays in Pine Hill?) We sat at the bar and ordered some drinks. The bartenders were very friendly and the drinks were strong. The crowd was mostly rockers… rock tees, leather jackets, cigarettes, tattoos, chains… Pine Hill played for a while and then Vain Rachell took the stage. They did covers and some of their originals. They sounded great! Definitely a place to check out for some good live rock bands!
