Prime Performance

Really really happy with Scott from Prime Performance. They came highly recommended and now I will highly recommend them going forward. I had major work done on my 07′ Tahoe (Engine replacement and rear end differential work.) They were fair, honest and great at what they do. I drove away this morning with a brand new truck to me. Whoever called this the last place to find an honest mechanic was right.
My check engine light came on, and the AutoZone people couldn’t narrow down the differential diagnosis, so they suggested Prime Performance.
I brought my car there, and within a couple hours, they called and explained that none of the easy fixes for my car’s warning light fixed the problem, so they felt that there was an extensive problem going on. My mechanic suggested that I take my car into the dealership as it was likely still under the power train warranty, so they could fix it for less than he could.
He didn’t charge me anything since he didn’t fix my car.
Wow! What a nice guy with an excellent work ethic.

An honest mechanic actually exists. This individually, family owned business has been around for years. Operated by the ‘son of’, the father built a reliable reputation for himself as the ‘go to’ for old classics, such as 1930’s Ford Showroom quality vehicles. Now retired, Pops still hangs around tinkering on his latest babies, soup-​in up for shows. The Son, Scott, however, can fix everything from SUV’s to sedans to muscle cars. He can diagnose an issue over the phone, a real motorhead with vast knowledge of the what’s really going on under your hood. Tucked back in the residential border south of Interbay, off of Westshore, this shop need not advertise, their reputation precedes them. Referred from a family friend, and I would recommend Prime as top Mechanical Performance over anyplace in Hillsborough County.

I live in Westchase and drive my cars 40 minutes south to Port Tampa to Prime Performance. There is no one I trust more for vehicle repairs than Scott, and I’ve never had to take my car back for re-​work. This is the only place I’ve gotten work done since 2002!
The price is right and the level of trust is beyond words.
