I had the labral repair, debridement, bone shave, arthroscopic surgery with Dr. Raterman. After my diagnosis was made, with MRI, I went to see Dr. Raterman.
I’m an active, 40 year old male, who was running 9 miles once a week, 3 miles another day a week and playing mens league ice hockey at least once a week. I’m not ready to give any of those things up. I’d done quite a bit of research, and he was the only surgeon that I would have seen in Florida.
The surgery is known for potential issues, which may come from lack of knowledge, understanding or experience. Dr. Raterman is strong in all of those areas and seems completely engaged in this treatment.
I’m 11.5 weeks post op and it feels great!
Unfortunately, I will need the other hip (the one that did not have surgery) done before long. I have total confidence, returning to Dr. Raterman, to get that hip repaired too!

Tampa, FL
Hands down the best Orthopedists in Tampa and probably Florida. Clinic is state of the art and he knows his stuff. He works with the Lightning and the Bucs as well.
