we came to come to the bar before it even opened unknowingly, we were going to leave and Liz opened the door saying they were setting up to open but they would be more than happy to serve us a beer. Extremely great customer service as well as great atmosphere

This place is the BEST! I absolutely love everything about this establishment! I have been here many times and never been disappointed. The old fashioned is the best I have ever had, I judge all old fashioned’s by theirs. The staff is very nice and knowledgeable. I have tried every drink on the menu and even when I have no idea what the ingredients are in the drink, never had one that I didn’t like. The atmosphere is super chill, it’s the kind of place you can chat with your friends and feel very comfortable. You can play darts and board games and pool. This place is my go to spot when I want to catch up with friends and spend quality time together.

The bartenders make the best cocktails in town, especially the old fashioned. A great laid back vibe and a great selection of spirits.

I rarely ever write a bad review nor do I like to play the race card but the dumb blonde bartender last night blatantly profiled me for being black. Immediately as I walk In with my 2 white guy friends they ask her where is the women’s restroom because I had to go so bad. My guy friends were pissed. They couldn’t believe what they were seeing. It was so obvious what she was doing. Mind u I wasn’t dressed scantily clad. I had on white jeans, floral print blazer, giuseppe heels, and a chanel purse. And I come out the restroom and meet my friends at the bar. They ordered their drinks and I’m like can have a glass of champagne and the same dumb blonde that pointed me to the restroom ironically enough was the same woman that says she can’t serve me. And why I asked her why she says because u were stumbling when u came in… my response was I had to pee and I’m walking in 6 inch heels. I only had 2 ½ glasses of champagne. So drunk I was not and that’s when I realized what was going on. She collared me for being black. I did go off because she was a piece of crap. The manager comes to me and she apologizing but by that point it doesn’t matter the damage was done. I told the manager if you walked into an established and u had 6 inch heels on and had to pee very bad u wouldn’t be doing what I call the pee pee dance. That bartender had a smug look on her face which pissed me off even more. But that’s ok. I will go back I won’t let one ignorant woman stop me from going anymore. I wish I knew her name but that’s OK I will never forget an ignorant face.

I visited this bar for the first time this past weekend and I must say I LOVEDIT! The vibe was super chilled, I didn’t feel out of place at all. This is a good spot to just chill with friends and have a good time. The staff was SUPERAMAZING and was willing to accommodate our large group. The drinks were wonderful you can just taste the quality of the liquor. I think for the price that drinks were more than awesome. This just might be my new hang out spot!

I was taken to Repeal as part of my birthday celebration this past Saturday. The place was great! The environment was chill and very inviting. We sat outside on the patio where we could still hear the music for the inside. Their music selection was calming a mix of popular and indie. This is a great place to come and unwind after a long week or for dates. The drinks!!! The drinks were amazing! I had one of the Bourbon flights. it was four shots of different types bourbons it is a really good choice if you are a bourbon drink like myself. The Bartender was great just told I wanted something sweet but has to bourbon and he came back with a very delicious and refreshing Black berry Lemonade with strong bourbon kick. I will definitely be going back soon.

As soon as I walked in I was home. Great ambience, cool bartenders(Kelly & Liz) who are personable and enthusiastic about making drinks, and the drinks are amazing! If you want to have a good conversation with your date over great drinks in a place with a cool vibe then this is it!

Repeal 18 has a great vibe. And the craft cocktails are JUST amazing. It’s a really neat to place to just chill and hang out with your friends any night of the week — they have 3 big TVs, a pool table, darts, and a selection of board games in the corner. They have a HUGE whiskey selection and even if their other selections of alcohol aren’t huge, they can still pretty much make you anything — but I definitely recommend the craft cocktails! If you’re looking for a really nice, fun place to hang with your friends or significant other with great drinks, music, and atmosphere, I definitely recommend!

Great music, atmosphere, and drinks. You have to try the Blind Pig, simply delicious! Wish this place was closer to Wesley Chapel… if you guys want to open one there here’s the address of a recent vacancy that would be PERFECT!!! 24400 State Road 54 Lutz, FL33559

It sits right next door to the little neighborhood YMCA along Linebaugh Avenue. They are a hand craft cocktail lounge/Bar, with a 20s/30s prohibition-era theme. Awesome place with staff who really know their spirits. Other great thing is you can get outside food as they don’t serve food.

This is a nice little speakeasy in the heart of westchase. Its usually a lot of locals from westchase. I did not have any food here but had plenty of drinks. They also have some games that you can play. You can also sit outside and have a drink when the weather is nice. Parking is a little rough if you ride your car, it would be better to ride a bicycle. Music is nice and perfect for this location.

With a name like Repeal 18, you’d think it would play with the speakeasy theme. I was slightly disappointed that it does not. It’s not a bar with the façade of a laundromat, or anything like that. I guess I was just looking forward to the secrecy of a traditional speakeasy to live up to the name. However, it still is a nice chill place with a pool table, dart board, and board games. The bartender was very friendly, which added to the chill ambiance. It was as if she’s saying«make yourself at home!» Apparently the Old Fashioned’s are the thing here, but I don’t drink whiskey so I can’t speak for that. I did order an Aviator, which is a good«girl’s drink.»

I honestly don’t know how this place stays in business. At 11pm on a Saturday night, we were 2 of the 10 people TOTAL in the building. Repeal 18 is located in the former space that The Oak Room occupied. The Oak Room was always packed, and the locals know why… it definitely had a unique reputation. There were 2 cocktail waitresses working and their list is quite extensive. I’m not a huge cocktail fan but the bartender was able to whip me up a concoction that was pretty tasty. My husband had a bourbon poured on top of a fancy ice cube and he said it was nice and smooth. The ambiance isn’t anything fancy or memorable and honestly, we probably won’t be back. It really lacked any type of atmosphere and liveliness.

Well, it’s been over a year now and Repeal has earned a special place in my heart. Hands down, my favorite watering hole in Hillsborough County. Why? Hand-crafted cocktails, free pool, great staff, mature crowd, and great throwback music, which is controlled by the staff. Sometimes one of the most annoying things at a bar is a Touchtunes machine. If I’m out and about trying to have a good, uplifting time, the last person I want controlling the music is some sap who just got divorced. I had to update my review because this joint has come so far in such little time. All of the drinks are made to perfection, no need for cheat sheets! Sometimes I forget my cigars at home, and Repeal now sells them, so it’s not a major issue. Some of the sticks can be a bit pricey, but hey, convenience ain’t cheap! I know we have a ways to go, but this is the place to be for the Superbowl, and I will make sure I’m not double-booked in 2016. If you like a specific drink and it’s not on the menu, ask them to make it for you. No problem! Avery, Liz and Dave, you guys rock the world of libations. When I want to grab a drink, Repeal is always my first thought.

Huge fan of this spot. I love the darkness of the spot. It leaves it very mysterious and you have to kind of look around to find where your friends are. The staff is always so kind and attentive. I have tried 80% of the cocktails on the menu. When in doubt, ask the ladies what their fav drink is and it will turn into your fav. I always get the Arsenic & Lace and then some how always end with an Old Fashioned. =)

Waited way too long to try this place. My husband and I both love cocktails and decided to stop here on the way home very late on a Friday(or early on a Saturday depending on how you look at it). So glad we did. The ambiance and décor are really nice, it has an old school speakeasy kind of vibe. Our bartender Avery was very friendly and quick to offer suggestions(all of which were spot on). We sat at a huge table playing Trivial Pursuit with friends and enjoying delicious cocktails for hours. They had a selection of simple syrups, and I had a few Moscow Mules made with mint simple syrup and a peach iced tea cocktail(name escapes me right now). Everything was perfectly made. My husband had a root beer old fashioned and the Aviation which he confirms were delicious as well. I loved the setup with the giant table and comfortable chairs to the right of the bar and free(!) pool and darts off to the left. They also have a nice setup outside if you’d rather enjoy the weather. The setup is so nice and comfortable that it really feels like you’re chilling at home having drinks and playing games with friends, except with a super nice bartender bringing you drinks. We will be back again and again, can’t wait to try more of their cocktails.

Repeal 18 has become my FAVORITE bar in Tampa … As an avid fan of Old Fashioned’s I was recommend to try this place from the bartender of another local gastro pub & decided to give it a try. As a customer who always orders an Old Fashioned where ever I dine and devour, I can honestly say that no other bar in the Bay area has yet to come close(and i’ve had an Old Fashioned in the countless number of Tampa’s many restaurants & bars)! In the past, the best Old Fashioned I have ever had was found in New Orleans, and Repeal 18 has now taken that top spot. Made with just the right amount of bitters, an orange peel garnish & a black cherry(not to mention the single spherical ice ball) … hits the spot each and every time. They even had a chocolate pumpkin spiced old fashioned(a creatively fun and a great spin on a classic drink!) which shows you the creativeness of the mixologists at this hidden GEM. Ive tried the bees knees & moscow mule drinks on separate occasions & they also did not disappoint! I love the local bar feel which always makes you feel welcomed and wanting to come back for more. The bartenders make it a point to get to know their customers and it shows each time I come back through the doors. The low key light dimming and LCDTV screens also make this it a great place to watch sports with a group of people. They even have a dart table, Foosball & full sized pool table to keep my non-drinking patrons entertained all through out the night! Please don’t miss out on this bar — so glad to have this place so close to home!

My very good friends Mark H. and Gigi S. felt the need to drag me out to a local bar this past week and forced me to sit there and drink Old Fashioned’s with them. Actually Mark and I both really enjoy a well-crafted Old Fashioned, and he had been singing the praises of this new watering hole in the middle of Westchase, so I had to go check the place out. Repeal 18 is a Prohibition-themed, hand-crafted cocktail lounge located in Westchase at the corner of Linebaugh and Montague. Repeal 18 occupies the space that formerly housed the Twisted Olive, and it sits right next door to the little neighborhood YMCA along Linebaugh Avenue. Parking is easy-peasey, and it’s FREE! Just turn on Montague, and then turn left into the alleyway between the shops. There’s a nice big FREE parking area for all of the local businesses. The décor of Repeal 18 is dark, and this place has a great«speakeasy vibe» with famous gangster photos and newspaper clippings about repealing the 18th Amendment(That would be Prohibition for those of you who slept through Civics class). There’s a fireplace in one corner and a dart board on the opposite side of the bar along with a FREE pool table, and places to play board games or cards. Of course the main attraction is the big horseshoe-shaped wooden bar, and the professional mixologists working their magic. If you’re a smoker they’ll banish you to their outdoor covered patio where they have plenty of high-top tables, while the rest of us sit inside in air-conditioned comfort. This place doesn’t have the dramatic flair of bottle-flipping magicians behind the bar, but rather a couple of very knowledgeable bartenders who craft your cocktail by hand and ask what type of bourbon(and hand-made bitters) you’d like them to use in your Old Fashioned. Liz was our bartender on this recent trip, and she started us off with a very nice blended bourbon old fashioned before moving on to assist other customers. Mark had already broken her in and informed Liz that we wanted the garnish(orange peel and maraschino cherry) but didn’t want any of those nasty plastic straws that have a tendency to poke you in the nose while you’re trying to drink. We sat there and chatted while sipping our drinks like a couple of refined gentlemen. Before long, Liz was back and this time she recommended that I try an Old Fashioned made with High West’s American Prairie Reserve(APR) Bourbon which turned out to be a limited edition blend of a six and ten-year old bourbon, that was named one of the ten best new bourbons by Men’s Health magazine. This was like serious amazeballs smooth and tasty! Mark and I were asking questions about the various single and blended bourbon whiskeys that they have at Repeal 18, and Liz started pouring sample tastes of each of them for us to try. She knew the backstory of each distillery and which spirits worked best in various cocktails. Mark and I were smiling as we nodded and followed along with her, but before long I realized that I could no longer feel my tongue. I had a serious bourbon buzz! Thit man, thith place ith awethome! Repeal 18 is a cocktail lounge that uses fresh-squeezed citrus juices for all of their libations, and Liz told us that they make their own simple syrup in-house(translation: no high-fructose corn syrup — just refreshingly light cocktails!) They have craft beers and a really nice wine list, but the focus is primarily on their hand-crafted cocktails. Make sure you say Hi to Liz if she’s working.
