I renewed my lease just before the new manager took over. Now I am uncertain that it was a wise move on my part. The gate is a safety feature and has been broken more than once but now it has been broken and ignored since before Christmas(today is 2÷6÷2016). I called the office and the new mgr was ‘busy’ and did not think it important to get the name and number of disgruntled tenant. I have been here about 3 years and the rent has gone up considerably but there are fewer items that work now. There is a building that the tenants broke the front door at least 3 times since Christmas as well. The laundry room near my mailbox has a group of male tenants(I assume) outside watching the goings on. There is no lighting by the mailboxes — I cannot see without a flashlight to insert my key into my box. Maintainence is pretty quick I must say — the people who are still here are doing a great job but there is no one walking the property to be pro-active and to keep this up where someone who wants to live on the water and not have problems would be interested in this location. The security company surveillance is less frequent — I have once seen a car 2 times since Thanksgiving after dark. The second time was after I went to the office this week and there was a car there at 9PM — the time I mentioned I often get home. I have the phone number of the security company but I don’t feel that if I pay extra to live on the water, I pay extra because my apartment was remodeled but I cannot find a parking space at 9PM; I cannot walk through the parking lot without seeing groups of people hanging out, the quality of service has fallen quickly. I am considering contacting outside agencies as this is no longer just me — tenants are talking in the laundry room about the declines. I think you may want to take a shorter lease to see how this improves or not — there is always lots of turn over but I assumed it was due to non payment of rent; now I am unsure. Several tenants have spoken to me(more than 5) — we are all about over the non concern of the current manager. I noticed that the Sunday hours are here on Unilocal — this has been gone for more than a year — if you ned to load your laundry card you must be able to get to the office on Saturday or before 6. Another of the services that ‘disappeared’ over the last 3 years.
