The beer can building rocks!!! It’s a giant white cylinder next to the Hillsborough River and Curtis Hixon Park in downtown Tampa. There is a nice view from the top floor even though the Sykes receptionists don’t seem to love when you come up for a peek. Malio’s on the ground floor is a cool traditional steakhouse for Tampa’s movers and shakers and has good happy hour deals. The cube addition has a stylish Kahwa coffee place and photog museum upstairs. The building is a big cylinder with a notch at the top. The architect is famous but i forget his name. There are artsy photos displayed in the lobby and the stone design is wacky. Shell patterns are in the cement walls. The furnishings are mid-century modern as well as marble. And the peeps passing by inside are fashionable and well dressed. This is a cool place. Lots of stone, columns and windows. Check it out! And now trendy Aloft is across the street. It has cool design inside too! And Hotel Tampa, now part of University of Tampa is across the way on the other side of the Hillsborough River. River Walk runs along the back by Malio’s patio. And Curtis Hixon is next door. The Tampa Artt Museum ia ob the other side of the park and serves up the best gelato around. So you have architecture and landscape architecture and interior design and foodie havens throughout.
