Most mediocre breakfast i have ever had! None of the ingredients tasted like they were good quality and everything tasted like it had been made many hours beforehand. If you are into overpriced basic bland diner food, go for it. It’s just for this price you could go get a fancy brunch at a nice restaurant!

The California egg Benedict with home fries was delicious and filling. The avocados were fresh and with the hollandaise sauce was just creamy and perfect. My boyfriend had a pancake on the side and it was fluffy and buttery. Around $ 10 for each meal, it was a wonderful breakfast since it was the only restaurant in the area that was open on a Sunday. Food came out within 10 – 15 minutes. The staff was super nice and helpful! We ate outside and the weather on a May morning was just breezy and warm.

I love Greek diners, you’re not go no to get anything really fancy, but whatever you get is going to be delicious at Samaria. The gyro sandwich is one of the best I’ve ever had and that’s coming from a girl who grew up near Greek Town in Detroit. Pretty tasty.

Found this little gem while heading to a different restaurant and decided to try it instead. I was greeted and seated promptly. There was a wide array of breakfast items that it made it hard to choose. I finally settled on the country Benedict which has eggs, sausage patty over a biscuit and gravy topped with hollandaise sauce served with a side of home fries. I was pleased to see their juice selection included pineapple juice. My food arrive quickly. The Benedict was ok — could have been served hotter, but the home fries were quite tasty. The owner walked around and not only greeted guest, many of whom are locals, but actually had a genuine conversation with them. I like that personal touch. It makes a difference when there are so many good options in a place like downtown Tampa.

I ordered Eggs Benedict during my first visit to Samaria and it was the first time I’ve ever disliked the hollandaise sauce. It was very thick and had a strong vinegar taste. On the plus side, the staff was friendly and we were seated right away on a Sunday morning.

Great food and great service. The folks here are so friendly. I got the Samaria frittata with ham and coffee and my daughter got the chocolate chip pancakes.

Happy to have found Samaria during a work trip to Tampa. I walked over from my near-by downtown hotel. Found a delicious goat cheese, artichoke & tomato omelet with fresh fruit, impeccably clean restaurant & engaging conversation with the owner. Great food & welcoming service — win win. I found a slice of Greece in Downtown Tampa. I’ll be back!

I’m pretty sure this is my favorite downtown Tampa place to eat. When I worked downtown, I think we ate here at least 3 times a week. I still try to get down there when passing through. Georgia and her husband run a tight ship and are the friendliest owners you will meet. I believe i have tried it all, but my favorite is the Samaria salad or the chicken fingers or the Black and Blue burger… yep, love it all! A def must if you are downtown!

delicious food. the service was a bit slow but the food and coffee was great. I had the mushroom benedict(which still comes with meat), and the home fried potatoes. also delicious. I highly recommend.

Not a bad diner, a little expensive for what it is, but actually a relatively good deal for breakfast comparing to other choices downtown Tampa. Everything is relative, if I reviewed this restaurant right after eating here I would have only given three stars, but after a terrible experience around the corner at «The Loading Dock,» I was reminded how important it is to get the food that I ordered without being treated with disrespect, for breakfast. It’s the start of the day! Not very different from other Greek-American run diners I’ve experienced across the cities of the Midwest, but this one is in Tampa. Would American breakfast and patty melts have disappeared without Greek immigrants? I wonder. Tasty, unhealthy high cholesterol American breakfast choices are all good here. Consider what you want when the waitress asks you if you want your toast«buttered,» as it’s not going to be real butter, they are going to soak your toast in that oily yellow goo that they use in diners and movie theaters. The service is prompt, friendly, and accurate. There are three good breakfast choices all in a row on this block, all three are busy, all get good reviews on Unilocal so we chose this one because: 1. Immediate seating versus the wait at the enticing corner breakfast place and 2. The otherwise attractive looking place next door touted a «gluten-free» menu, which in my experience doesn’t bode well for taste. Not disappointed, the best aspect of the place is the sincerely friendly service.

This place is so interesting! My co-worker and I were looking for a place for lunch and all our usual spots were completely packed, so we gave it a try. For a downtown restaurant, it is huge and has a very large, impressive menu. We were sat and served quickly. They were still serving their large breakfast menu along with their unique Mediterranean menu. I ordered breakfast and my co-worker ordered from the lunch menu and both are dishes had plenty and were delicious! The prices were extremely reasonable and even though it was pretty busy, the place is so big and the service was good. Overall, it’s a great alternative downtown if everything else has a line out the door.

Pick this over the other cafes next to it! We couldn’t decide and then we were greeted by owner who is a very welcoming, hard working man who will do everything he can to make you comfortable. He talked to us for a few minutes about his family and we discovered a true hard working family success story. We were impressed! The food was great– made to order home cooked, generous portions and average price. Sat outside and enjoyed ambiance. We ate breakfast — had sandwiches and breakfast plate…(my wife was impressed with the flavored coffee creamers!) Will definitely come again– and CHEERS to the owner«Steve»(I think that was his name :) for working hard and doing the right thing! Keep it up! The folks from Jupiter…

Came in today for a late lunch. Everything was fresh and we all ordered sandwiches, and a hummus plate, the only surprising thing was the cost here. I would say change this to $$ category as it really doesn’t fit into anything lower than that. Prices have gone up!

I really like this place. The owners greet you and remember you. It is clean and well lit. The menu is varied so there is something for everyone. The food is fresh, large portions, and reasonably priced. When you want a comfort food breakfast in a locally owned place instead of a chain this is the place to go. My favorite is the Eggs Benedict or Florentine.

Nom Nom Nom.. . That’s how I would start this review. I was in town for the Janet Jackson concert. We stayed down the street and I wanted some breakfast before the show. I ordered EVERYTHING.. HAHAHAH. I had an omelet, bacon, french toast, and 1 pancake. Since I love breakfast I had to try everything. My favorite was the french toast. The bread they use the syrup… putting that in my mouth was like AAAAAHHHHHHH!!! :-) We had an AWESOME server. My friend I was with ordered the Monte Cristo and he said it was good. They forgot the sauce that goes with it and she was on it and brought it to him immediately! Check this place out.

I feel at home! One of the best things about Samaria Café is the owners. They treat you like a guest in their home and their home is CLEAN! The wait staff is friendly and consistent too. I also love the food because it’s FRESH unlike many other breakfast places that use frozen veggies and canned items… ewe! The egg white omelete’s are the BESTINTOWN. totally fluffy! You can find so many healthy things on the menu and they make whatever you want without a huge extra, extra, extra fee. I am so glad to see a new breakfast place in downtown Tampa that can easily be a morning destination.

Samaria serves up some acceptable food. I almost gave it 4 stars; this is the only 3-star establishment that I return to. Pro: I like the Greek salad, and I get it every time I go. The lettuce isn’t all that special(it’s more white than green), but the potato salad, pita, and dressing are great. I thought it was weird to eat a salad with pita and potato salad(on top), but I was converted pretty quickly. Perhaps most important, the dressing is delicious. It’s some kind of olive oil dressing with seasonings. I want it as a dip with every meal. Con: The few other meals that I’ve sampled aren’t very good. For example, The other day I got a bite of the eggs benedict. Stay away. The hollandaise sauce was bad. In fact, it was so bad that, had the meal been mine, I’m not sure I could have finished it. And that’s unheard of for me.
