I love dive coasters. I became addicted to the drop sensation from riding the world’s first drop coaster, Oblivion at Alton Towers in the UK.
If you let go, you do go into free fall and rise out of your seat.
Sheikra’s selling point is that it has a double drop in its layout. It boasts 3 lines of seating per car. On Oblivion, I prefer to ride at the front for an interrupted view of the drop but on Sheikra, the drop sensation is better from the second row.
To be honest, the drop sensation wasn’t as good as Oblivion — I think Oblivion’s genius is in dropping you into an underground hole, creating more excitement whereas Sheikra’s layout is all above ground.
The second drop comes just after a slight brake to control the speed before a final dramatic splash through the water

Though not as good as Oblivion, still worth 5 stars as I just love that drop sensation!

SheiKra… named after an African Hawk known to dive straight down to catch its prey. Hence the huge drop the ride starts with.
They slowly bring you up, you know you are going to fall, fall, fall. You get to the top and… you are suspended for about 6 full seconds looking down. Which of course adds to the dread and suspense. When you drop you feel it absolutely everywhere in your body.
A 200 foot drop at 70 MPH. Then another smaller yet not easy drop. Makes the speed and the loops feel like child’s play.
If you like your adrenalin rush served by a fall, this is the ride for you. A must try for all Roller Coaster Enthusiasts! It is the first of its kind and an amazing ride.
