This is a review about the pricing, not the store. The per gallon price is easily $.15 — $.20MORE than any station just south of Cross Creek, on Bruce B Downs.

Expensive. A good 10 cents or more per gallon than out on Bruce B. Downs. Nothing else really memorable about this place.

I wind up here mostly because my wife thinks they have great bottled soda(they actually sell cold Dr. Pepper unlike the grocery stores around)! I usually just tag along for the smell of onions and peppers that Domino’s pumps into the air(although I’ve filled up on gas a few times when I was desperate). One of the things that makes this gas station unique is that the Cross Creek Deli is located inside of the gas station. The deli serves your typical made-to-order subs and sandwiches(both breakfast and lunch) but it also offers Cuban food and freshly rolled burritos. While this is great and all, the gas station employees have to run both the gas station and the deli. This means that on a few occasions, I’ve had a long wait in line on the gas station side of things as orders are fulfilled on the deli side. The skinny: Good for soda, An above average smell, possibly long waits.

The little deli in the back of this Shell station(«Cross Creek Deli») is a diamond in the rough. I’m not a usual gas station cuisine person, but after seeing another sandwich made while I was getting a soda I decided to go for it and get a cuban. It seems like in Tampa, just about every gas station makes their own cubans — but I swear, this one was pretty good! With lots of veggies and hot pressed bread. Yum. As for the gas station itself, gas prices are much higher than usual so I would avoid and venture a little further down til you hit Bruce B. Downs and fill up over there. But for a quick and cheap lunch on the go, this place ain’t that bad.

I visited this Shell station on Friday, March 29th about 10PM. We had been traveling Florida, and wanted to get some fuel and snacks before the final leg of that night’s travels. We were waiting for the men’s room which was occupied for about 10 minutes. Finally someone emerged, and it was an employee of the staton. He asked what we were doing, and we said we were waiting. He got nasty with us, and said«Well you can wait!» in the rudest, most obnoxious tone I have ever heard someone use to a customer. He was extremely rude and condescending to both my foreign exchange student and I. If I had an employee talk to one of my Customers like that, I would have fired him on the spot, no questions asked. I will make it a point to avoid this gas station the next time I am in the area. I would rather push my car to the next station than patronize a company with such rude employees.
