Subspot is a little trailer located on George Rd during the week and some weekends in the Walgreens plaza on Hillsborough and Memorial Hwy. The owners are courteous and the area is always kept clean. I worked for a company right on the block for two years and it was on of the spot my co workers and I frequented. The ingredients for the sandwiches were always fresh. I have never had a bad sub come from there. The only down fall to this place were the hours, and the wait if you got caught in the lunch rush without ordering ahead of time. This is defiantly a must try if you work in the area. If you like a good Italian sub made fresh without a lot of frills this is the place for you!

RIP sub spot. Sorry you had to sell drugs out the back of your business and get arrested. Overall great sub!

I was watching Cake Boss the other day and they made a cake for an Italian deli. Not only did the cake look delicious but when they delivered the cake, the sandwiches looked delicious. I decided to look up Italian delis or sub shops in my area and stumbled upon The Sub Spot on UrbanSpoon. It had a very high rating. After work the following day, I stopped by to try a sandwich. I got a #1 with Ham, Soppresata, Cappicola, and Proscuitto. The owner recommended it hot and pressed but the wife cut in and said that she liked it cold and that the flavor of the meats came through better that way. I went with the lady’s opinion and was not disappointed. It was flavorful but I felt it could of used more meat, or maybe thicker slices. It was very fresh and the price was good. Also, the owner was very nice and personable and was trying to get to know me while I ordered. I think it’s important for a new business to be friendly to the community and they both were very nice. And the location is great. It’s a parked food truck with a large covered area and clean picnic tables. Really enjoyed the service and sub. Recommended!

I walk here from work — not only is it inexpensive, but it is delicious. This is my favorite Italian sandwich in Tampa

I have heard only good things about this place, and driven past it more times than that — any time you are going north of George to Hillsborough, you will see it. Sadly if this is during the week after 5, it will already be closed. Fortunately I got to try it out as it was parked outside the Walgreens at Hillsborough and Memorial. They have a few different types of meat so you can get yoursandwich with any variety. Bread comes white or wheat, hot or cold, and all the sandwich add ons. There was a line when I walked up and got the 1 — ham, prosciutto, capocollo, sopressata, hot, with a ton of add ons. They cut the meat in front of you, which is a nice addition. The owner and his son were great people, polite, courteous, just trying to get the name out. The sandwich itself was solid. 8″ for $ 6 is a steal, considering how much meat you get. I’m sure you could do the 16″ and share with a few people.

Simple but delicious. The meat was sliced right in front of me, they have plenty of veggie options that were all fresh and crisp. The bread couldn’t be fresher, and I like the seasonings they put on there too. My favorite part was they used what seems like a decent proscuitto, and seem to focus on quality and freshness over trying to cram as much cheap processed meat on an old piece of bread. Granted I have only tried the Italian, but will be going back to try the rest… Cuban next. The only downfall for me is the hours. They aren’t open on weekends or for dinner… Makes sense as most their business is from the offices across the way, just would like to see if staying open one night a week would bring them in more than just people that work around here… With how good everything is, I bet lots of people would stop by in the evening, maybe pick up a sub and go relax by the bay.
