I have always been a fan of Subway, even though it is a chain. You always know exactly what they have to offer & quality is consistent. It’s a B, L, D establishment, with offerings good for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. I had nerer tried one of their salads, in part because I am a lettuce snob. I know it’s not a great character flaw to have, but, yup, I am guilty of being a lettuce snob. To me lowly iceberg lettuce ranks way down on the food chain. The other night the lady in front of me got a salad & it looked so inviting, I had to have what she had. She did appear to be an authority on Subways salads & not a virgin like me. I ended up with the turkey salad, no croutons & no dressing. It was big & beautiful, like a work of art. I got home & took the top off the container, put my fave low calorie dressing on it & dug in. This salad did not disappoint. It was fresh, had all the ingredients I love, but never have all of at home, & hit the spot on a hot Tampa evening. I was so anxious to dig in, I forgot to take a picture and show off all her splendor and color. The salad is a good size and can easily be 12⁄2 or 2 full meals. This is definitely my new fast food craze & I will keep up the new tradition. What’s a girl to do? Iceberg, not excited about, but add spinach, peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, black olives & turkey & you got yourself a good, filling meal.

This review is for Subway’s breakfast offerings. I tried one today for the first time. This has to be one of the best breakfast sandwiches out there. Beats the heck out of MickeyD’s and the King. Egg, whites or yolk — your choice! — steak, spinach(FRESH) and cheese. This was a great breakfast. The foot long, $ 5.50, was actually too much. 6 inch, $ 3 and change would be enough and you can have the steak, ham, turkey and choice of all the veggies subway normally has. This was surprisingly good, and this Subway location, in a Marathon station, is the best.
