I really like the chorizo and egg burritos, but they have a machaca breakfast on the menu but refuse(2 times now) to put it in a burrito for me. I even offered to pay more.

We have been to the Brandon location multiple times and wanted to go to a different area tonight. The first couple times at the Brandon location were great. We usually get taquitos, huaraches, sopes, bistec ranchero, horchata, and/or tamales each time we go and have been going for about 2 years. Service and food is never consistent, sometimes ok, sometimes just bad. But tonight was the last straw. Just like the usual: walk in, seat yourself, and the waitress comes to take your order. A big party came in the same time as us and the food came out quickly, but I had to get up and ask for a refill. The 2 sopes and 1 huarache were just bad and 4 al pastor taquitos were okay. My husband, a native Mexican, said they lacked flavor. One al pastor sope and chicken huarache had no crisp to them at all and were drenched. The other chicken sope had a puddle of water/juice just soaking under it. Maybe it was from the lettuce or chicken, but still disgusting.(The huaraches and sopes are usually soft here(even when requested crispy EVERY and this time we go), but it just was inedible and unsanitary). Oh, and the salsa that comes with the complimentary was so bland(I had to add salt) and lacked any«picante»(Brandon’s location so spicy I have to have a cup of water). When I addressed the sopes and huarache to the servers and cooks, they only asked if I wanted another one and replied«No». No discount was ever offered. I REALLY wish I didn’t have to post this publicly, but I don’t see any customer service or complaint website, email, or phone number anywhere on the Internet. We won’t be returning to ANY Taco Rey establishments in the future. This was the first time at this location and last time with the company.

We have been huge fans of Taco Rey for a long time. Their food is great, inexpensive, and you get really large portions. We went today for a late lunch/early dinner — sat there for over 10 minutes without even being acknowledged once — didn’t so much as get a nod in our direction despite a waitress walking by repeatedly bring drinks to the 8 top next to us. We finally walked out after a family walked in and instantly had a waitress at their table — despite us sitting there for 10 solid minutes before that family even opened the door. What really put the icing on the cake was when I went to google the restaurant to get the phone number to complain the the manager/owner — and found an ABC Action News report about this Taco Rey location. It made me want to throw up because we literally have eaten here 3 – 4 times a month for the last 6 months. I will never ever return to Taco Rey — and that is very painful for me to say, because their shredded pork burrito was insane.
