Tampa General Medical Group

After over 10 years with my primary care physician, I finally took a giant step and decided to change. The reason for my decision is that it has become increasingly difficult to get a same day apt with my doctor. I don’t want to be seen by a PA. My insurance is paying and, via my co pay, I’m paying to see a doctor. No offense to the PA. They serve a legitimate purpose in health care.
So much for my editorial. My first visit with Dr. Metzger, a TGH medical group provider, located in the Westchase area of Tampa, was to establish myself as a new patient and set up a physical.
Mission accomplished. The office staff was pleasant, courteous, and very professional. The doctor knowledgeable, professional and a great bedside manner. My wife the critic, agrees. LOL.
The doctor keeps a few slots open for same day appointments. He reviewed my medical history, answered all my questions and I was not rushed. He took his time. My impression with this doctor is that he is not quick to prescribe un needed meds. This is a good thing.
On my next visit, which is for my physical, I’ll know how really good he is.
