Jamie did an excellent job on the installation of my cabinets, but if there are any difficulties with your job you can expect a bumpy experience and customer service that is completely atrocious. Due to back orders from Ikea, not all of the parts were available to complete my job when Jamie came to do my cabinet install. I was told this wasn’t an issue and that he could come back to finish the work. Between the time he did the initial install and the time the missing items from Ikea arrived, a cabinet door and a set of hinges mysteriously disappeared. I was notified when Jamie came back to complete the job that the door and hinges were missing so I told him that I would get the missing items and notify him when I had them. I was reassured that this was no problem and I paid Jamie in full for the entire job at this time. A few weeks later I got the missing items from Ikea and texted Jamie to let him know the items were at my house; I requested a date that he expected he could complete the job. His response was, «Well we are booked for the next couple of weeks, and I’ll need to wait until I have service in your area.» I explained that I was disappointed by his response since it didn’t provide me with a date of completion and also made me feel like my job was not only not a priority but also an inconvenience. I had already paid him in full and my house is centrally located in Tampa off of 275 and Hillsborough so there’s no reason that hanging a single cabinet door can’t be done on the way to or from another job. At this point, he began arguing with me — and got very nasty. I don’t feel it’s ever appropriate to argue with a customer. Even if he couldn’t provide a date of completion, he should’ve just said, «Hey, we’re really booked but I will get to it when I can and I’ll text or call when I have a firm date and time.» Making a customer feel like completing his/​her job is an inconvenience after being paid in full is just bad business … and arguing with a customer about anything is inappropriate at best. I had referred several friends to Jamie because I felt the quality of his work was top-​notch, but how a business deals with customer issues and how a business makes you feel about doing business with them is just as important as the quality of product or service offered. Based on Jamie’s inability to control his temper and his lack of follow-​up on completing a job that he was paid for in a responsible and courteous manner, I do not recommend his services.

Tekbuild recently put in an entire Ikea kitchen for me. They are fantastic! Jamie was so accommodating, even when I needed to push back the job a few days. He completed the job exactly when he promised. Waited until he was completely finished before taking a penny. I highly recommend them for any Ikea assembly! Will have them back for my bathroom as well.
