Not friendly staff, one lady who works in front was rude, she wouldn’t even try to understand English, price is higher then at other places. Most places gel manicure $ 25, this place is $ 30!

I have gone here for many years maybe every couple months. The nail services are okay, used to be better. The last one was not good. The girl doing my feet hurt me several times clipping and whatever. My feet used to look decent when I left. This time they look like I did them myself at home. Does not look professional. Sorry will not be back.

This place is great! Very upbeat and friendly staff. The atmosphere is modern and clean. The staff was quick and did a good job. It is a little pricey so that’s my only complaint.

I have been going to Unique Nails for about 7 years now. I was a more frequent customer when I had acrylic nails. Now I come when I can fit it into my schedule for a mani/​pedi.
I have read some of the negative reviews on here and have to laugh but resize everyone’s expectations and experiences will be different.
The metal nail instruments are all sterilized with heat in an autoclave, after being washed and cleaned (I have seen them do this) and you can see it in the back. New packets have been opened in front of me every time. When it comes to Emory boards new ones are not used for each customer. That’s just not economical. If a Customer is concerned about that bring your own they are happy to use it. The same applies for nail polish. I’ve seen the owner turn customers away who have fungus or damage to their nails.
As far as clean goes, it’s very clean. Yes there is fingernail dust under the glass at the tables but in the am there is not, that is cleaned daily. The towels are washed and sterilized and maybe used more than once but unless someone has damage to their nail, the finger nail dust won’t hurt you.
The massage chairs are WONDERFUL! I usually get the deluxe pedicure which is $ 35. It’s a massage of your feet and lower leg, full pedi, nail colour and lotion. It’s 30 – 40 min (depending on the tech) of pure heaven.
The manicures could use a little more pampering like the pedicures have. It’s pretty straight forward. But with the gel polish and great technique it’s worth it. My nails always look great!!!
They offer facial waxing as well as other area waxing too.

I have been going to the same nail tech for the past 14years or so. Annie is good but make sure you make an appointment.
The salon is great and very clean. The staff is friendly and they want to get to know you. This is important especially if you plan to be a regular.
The staff is good at getting to know you and they have a variety of colors and designs to choose from.

Nasty and poor service. When I sat down for the mani I noticed there were nail and cuticle clippings from previous customers in and on the towel. I mentioned it to the nail tech, but had to tell her to please use a clean towel! That’s when the sulking started. Her desk area was also dirty. The nail tech was less than pleasant and sulked even more when I told her she applied the polish too thick. She tried to tell me it was my nails, but I used the same polish before without a problem. Terrible place!

Tried this place out for a pedicure and backfill on my acrylics since the girl I normally see it out of town. I won’t be coming back. I asked for the lady to check my ingrown nails. She told me she did but I know she never even touched them. Then did my acrylics — didn’t like the way they were shaped and asked to just have nail polish put on top. I have bumps and spots with no polish. After I was «done», she told me how much … It was more than when I asked what the price was before I said down. If they used a product that was going to be higher in price, they should have told me. Again, not going back!

I am only giving 4 stars because I had gone in for just a fill of pink and he ended up doing a pink and white fill. I guess what I needed was lost in translation. However, I am extremely happy with how my nails turned out. I will definitely be going back and I’m sure we will have better communication next time.
They also gave my daughter a mani/​pedi. She was very happy.
I will say though that they should turn off the lifetime movie channel. I don’t enjoy any of the movies on that network and would prefer my daughter didn’t watch those kinds of shows either. Something a little more neutral would be better for a salon type environment when you’re servicing people of all ages.
All in all though my nails turned out well and for that I will go back.

patient nail technicians with the same price as others, i wouldn’t mind to drive from Tampa to get my nails done in Oldsmar!

WHY is it so hard to find a decent, clean nail place in Tampa? Reviewers who have mistaken this place for either of those two things are either blind or have stunningly low standards.
I made an appointment for a mani/​pedi, showed up 5 minutes early, signed in and then waited. And waited. And waited. Are you sensing a theme here? 25 minutes past my appointment time, I got the «privilege» of being moved from the waiting area to the work station NEXT to the one I would eventually be at, perhaps so I could watch the girl that should have been working on my nails all along instead do a mani for someone else.
FINALLY, 30 minutes past my appointment time, I got to move to the right chair. The nail tech didn’t introduce herself but the license buried underneath all her stuff said her name was «Yen.» I told Yen I no longer had time for the pedi. She was SHOCKED. I was like, really? You just made me wait 30 minutes past my appointment time; I have a life, you know, and a reason I’d made an appointment. She blew me off with a smile, saying they just got busy. Yeah, I should’ve «got busy» going elsewhere.. . So glad my time is meaningless to them.
So shellac came off and Yen reached for the same emory board that she’d used on the woman before me – WOAH, Yen. There’s a hygiene issue here. She laughed at me when I asked for a new emory board. I reminded her that a new board was a good way to ensure I didn’t end up with a raging staph infection, or worse, and a good way to make sure she didn’t end up liable for my resulting medical bills. She hunted down a new board.
But little missy just didn’t seem to learn her lesson for, several minutes later, Yen reached for the same buffer she’d used on the woman before me — and, judging by the amount of nail dust, dead cells, and other muck caking this thing — every other woman whose nails she’d done this year. Again, I asked for a new item. Again, Yen laughed at me. It took her a good 10 minutes to hunt down a new buffer, which, quite frankly, is a bit scary.
Thank goodness I’d brought my own polish because every bottle I opened was old, gloopy, and gross. Many of the bottles were so old they had actually separated. Yuck. Polish job was sketchy — she didn’t have me wash my hands (ie, remove cuticle oil and lotion from my nails) before applying base coat. She sprayed (somewhat haphazardly) every other finger with what I guess was alcohol, but didn’t really wipe it off to make sure the oils were gone. Base coat application was downright sloppy — I had to point out several spots she’d missed. I’m about 18 hours in and I don’t have chips, but my red OPI polish isn’t looking shiny, like it should.
In sum: there’s no consideration for scheduling or time management at this place. I don’t know about the other techs, but the one I got was rude — had I been her manager and witnessed how she’d treated me, I would’ve fired her on the spot. And her technique left A LOT to be desired. Pass, people. Spend the extra money and go to a real spa with techs who know what they are doing and won’t treat you badly. I know that’s what I am going to do from now on.

Super happy! I’ve tried about 6 places since moving to FL before finding this one and I will be back! I’ve had the regular for $ 20 and today tried the deluxe for $ 30 pedicures and both were worth it! The place is clean and the pedicure lasts they clearly don’t use old nail polish. My absolute favorite part is they play HGTV on the TV — granted with closed captioning — but I go to relax and SO MANY places have the news or something else on. Definitely my new nail place.

I just had my nails done by Tina and they look fantastic! Unique Nails is clean, conveniently located and has an amazing, friendly staff. I had my nails done somewhere else last weekend and it was awful. Tina took her time and did it right. I will definitely be back!

What a gem this place is! Found this place on Unilocal like most of the places I visit… And much to my surprise this place was awesome! They were a bit crowded so we went to Michaels until they were ready. They have an awesome selection of polish which is very important when getting a pedicure (many OPI and Essie) both my friend and I had the gentlemen. They were great! Very efficient and didn’t miss a beat. I even somehow managed to bump my pedicure which he noticed and quickly corrected. I will definitely be back to this place!

A last-​minute pedicure turned out better than expected! The lady who did my nails was thorough and precise. Not a smudge to be found. And the foot and leg massage felt great! AND it didn’t cost an arm and a leg! Will definitely be back again :)

I went with my daughter for the first time to Unique Nails today. We both got a pedi and a fill. The job they did was great but we were there for 3 hours. It was the longest I have ever had to sit and have my nails done.

I’ve been to Unique Nails a few times and yesterday was no different. The facility is clean, and they have an excellent selection of polishes. Their services are extremely affordable; for $ 20 you can get a standard pedi with polish and for $ 30 you can get the pedi AND manicure. I believe the deluxe pedicure with hot stones is only $ 5 more. They also have private rooms for waxing and eyebrows and offer a few special nail services like shellac and minx. Once seated, the employees work fast to get you done but do expect a little wait at the door if you’re just walking in. We went at 2:30 on a Friday and they were packed! A good salon, especially for the price.

I visited Unique Nails for the first time today and will absolutely go back! The salon is average size and had private rooms for waxing and facials. I had a mani/​pedi combo, which was $ 30.00 and had great service. The salon had current magazines to read (may not seem important but I’ve been to nail salons that had outdated mag’s to read and its boring), too. The salon seemed very clean and staff was nice!
