This is the WORST Chinese food I have ever had in my entire life! Only ordered cause I live in south Tampa and it’s close. Only eating the leftovers cause it was $ 45 and I don’t want to waste money! The spare ribs were nothing but fat although the flavor was good! The orange chicken should be called orange GOO!!! The egg rolls and soups are good and the people are super nice; it saddens me to give such a negative review! I cannot grasp how people actually like this! Ming garden on Tampa street BLOWSTHISPLACETHEHELLAWAY!!! Will definitely be ordering from there next time. It’s worth the trip!

Favorite Chinese take out in South Tampa … Quick, easy, cheap and delicious. Love the crab Rangoon !

Worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. New to Tampa and I realize I was choosing the convenient option and was prepared for mediocre food based on the reviews I read. But honestly was not prepared for what I received. Ordered garlic chicken and basically got mystery meat in a ketchup, corn starch, water sauce. Hot and sour soup was a gelatinous mess that was neither hot nor sour. Spring rolls tasted of nothing except oil and wrapper. I’m having trouble finding decent Chinese food in this area but would suggest never eating here and driving a couple miles for slightly better quality. Even the grocery store Chinese food would be way more satisfying than what they sell you here.

My go to Chinese take out. The mushoo pork is dank and the dumplings are yummy. Good prices.

Why did I think they deserved a second chance??? No no no. Too much batter and guys, get your sauces right. That was NOT General Tsao’s. #imdone

Not the best but bad at all! The big plus for me is that they deliver!!! I’ve had a few items that were all average but let’s be honest… You don’t come here expecting gourmet food. I typically go for vegetable lo mien and the cashew chicken.

No, no, no. I will never eat here again. I tried this place about 9 or 10 months ago. Ordered sweet and sour chicken and some type of soup – it’s been so long I don’t remember which one. The sweet and sour sauce tasted(and looked like) like concentrated orange soda, or some type of orange flavored sugar syrup. Not fresh, anything like I’d ever had in a sweet and sour dish, it was absolutely horrible. The soup was awful as well. Would not recommend this place.

Definitely a take-home pick-up place. The dine-in area is very basic, but the food is amazing. I’ve traveled a lot and ate in a lot of Chinese restaurants. This place has the best fried dumplings ever! I always get the vegetable lo-mein, and so far the beef dishes I’ve tried are just as good or better than the 5-star Chinese restaurants I’ve had in the past.

Good stuff if your into mall style Chinese. Which I am. General tso’s is pretty good, and egg rolls. Price is good, but delivery is like an hour. Not ten minute.

I was staying at the Hilton Westshore, and had a hankering for Chinese. As a frequent business traveller, I generally have low expectations for Chinese delivery, since I’m typically limited without a car and always need to take a risk on something new. I mainly just want to make sure it’s appetizing. Since every place within delivery radius had 3 stars or less on Unilocal,I decided to defer to the opinion of the front desk. They said Wok and Roll was the most solid of the local options. Delivery came quickly and on time as described. I had the General Tso’s chicken and I ordered the small sized house specialty, it was more than enough food for one. The flavor was good; I ordered medium spice, it wasn’t that spicy but that’s okay since I’m a bit of a wimp. Chicken was warm and fresh. Some other reviewers have described the chicken as fatty; none of my pieces were fatty, but they did use all dark meat(which I’m okay with). Steamed rice was solid. Also ordered the Krab Rangoons, which were hot and crispy. As described by other reviewers, there is much more cream cheese than Krab, but they were still delicious. I’m also okay with that since it’s the fake stuff, so I’m not looking for it to be packed with it anyway. Also got the sugar donuts. This is the most disappointing part of my order. They weren’t bad, just not great. Not sweet enough and a little overcooked. Still satisfied my craving though.

I don’t get Chinese often but when i do i go here! I have no complaints most Chinese joints seem to have the same set up and décor. I always get the combos which to me seems like a pretty good deal. I get the mixed veggies w/shrimp combo which comes with a drink and an egg roll. Lots of veggies and big shrimp! I always feel absolutely terrible after eating this but that’s a common feeling after Chinese. This is definitely not a restaurant you want to sit and linger at but it is perfectly fine for pick up! wok on!

What happened here? This place used to be the Chinese gem on Kennedy. I randomly stopped here the other day after not having eaten here in a couple years and it was not nearly as good as it used to be. I went with my barometer meal of General Tso’s chicken and lo mein and for $ 7, I got a small scoop of chicken and a bunch of super salty lo mein. I asked for the chicken to be crispy and it was soggy and weird tasting. The lo mein had some really salty liquid on it. It wasn’t quite soy sauce. It was more like salty water. Either way, it was bad and that’s the end of a former favorite. *taps playing*

I live close by to both Wok N Roll and Jade Garden. I tend to go to Jade Garden because their combo platters are a ton of food for about 8 bucks. However, I decided to try Wok N Roll today because I was craving cheap, «American style» Chinese and I wanted to try a new place. I placed an order for pickup and it was ready in about 7 minutes. The food looked just as I expected. I enjoyed the veggie lo mein and the crab rangoon. The General Tso’s chicken was sort of edible, but the chicken itself appeared to be very low quality. I ended up trowing most of it away. The ‘veggie delight’ was mostly limp broccoli and was covered in some kind of foul sauce that I’ve never seen in my life. The sticky consistency of the sauce was like a science project– it was absolutely disgusting. I wanted to eat the vegetables but I actually wiped off the gross, brown sauce. The giant tub of sweet&sour sauce that came with my food went to waste as it was off-colored and tasted horrible. I was also really disappointed in how little food I got for just under $ 25. I did like how the chicken and veggie dishes came with steamed rice, but from a place as low quality as Wok N Roll, I’d expect $ 25 to get me twice the amount of food I got. Overall, it was ok, and of course I wasn’t expecting gourmet, high quality Chinese food, but even when my expectations were set low, it was definitely disappointing. I’ll be sticking to Jade Garden from now on. I might eat here again, but only after about 6 beers.

As compared to more suburban Tampa areas, take-out Chinese is a little harder to come by in South Tampa. That being said, this place will definitely quench a Chinese food craving. The food is good(not the best I’ve had but pretty standard and tasty) and fair priced as well. A good spot for a quick dinner if you aren’t trying to be health conscious. If you are a big Hot and Sour Soup fan like I am I wouldn’t get your hopes up too much here. Overall, it’ll do just fine and it’s become my south Tampa go-to for Chinese take-out. Enjoy!

Here is what I want when I order Chinese takeout: 1.) Hot, fresh, tasty Lo Mein and Fried Rice, 2.) HUGE portions. 3.) Big, hot, crunchy egg rolls. The food was hot and delicious and the portions were gigantic. Fried Rice, Lo Mein and egg rolls for $ 19. What more can you ask for?

If you are comparing and rating this joint to authentic Chinese food or any region in Asia, get real. This is an American typical Chinese food restaurant and should be rated as such. I try not to eat Chinese food as best I can, but General Tso chicken and fried rice is hard to resist at times. I have tried EVERY Chinese restaurant in South Tampa multiple times and they are all bleh except for Wok N Roll… they are the only Chinese restaurant I feel that is consistent in what they do. We live a few blocks north of Gandy, so we pass a lot of fast Chinese restaurants on the way to pick up our food from Wok N Roll… simply because it is worth it.

It takes talent to make Singapore curry noodles so blah it tastes like I cooked it. The Hot and Sour soup should be named Hot and Strange. Was just as tasteless and creative to say the least, their own recipe, do not expect what you usually get when you order this elsewhere. Guess they got 50% correct, it was temperature Hot. Forget their special scallops in garlic sauce. It was just sugar gravy over veggies, the small scallops were playing hide and seek, and I lost. I was exhausted, crashed in the hotel and got pay back for being lazy. I ordered out because they have free delivery. Hey, if they gave free food I wouldn’t do it again. Literally threw out all the food after a few bites and several packets of cheap soy sauce. They got one star because: They did deliver within 30 min as they promised and the Asian delivery older man was nice.

If it wasn’t decent I would have found a different Chinese place. Maybe I am just lazy. They deliver, which is great. Food comes out relatively quick, so its okay to order inside. They cook to order, so you can always ask for something extra spicy. If you order a ton of food they usually throw in some Chinese donuts as a «thank you.» Big fan of the Mongolian beef, although it is better going in. The steamed dumplings are always in my order as well. You can eat in. They have a nice supply of Creative Loafing. The puzzles always help me get through waiting.

Wok N Roll is consistantly ok., not good or great; just ok. The staff is so friendly! I want to like the restaurant more, but the quality of the food and the atmosphere could use an improvement. Nice selection of all the basic dishes. Most of the chicken dishes have too much breading. The lunch specials are very cheap. The lunch special includes a choice of a free soda or eggroll with purchase of meal on the menu. If you visit in January they always give a free wall calendar(they really are so nice!). Recently tried the bourbon chicken… pretty good. I would describe it as really good food court quality if that makes sense. Overall, decent option for takeout, but I wouldn’t dine in.

This place doesn’t serve«real» Chinese food, but it delivers, so we order from here whenever we have a craving for fake, oily Chinese and want delivery food. Afterwards, I feel guilty and vow to never let my parents know that I eat here. The actual store is completely charmless, but the nice thing is that service is fast because no one eats in.
