Ybor Cigars Plus

Could actually taste the mint in the mojito BUT had to sit outside because my husband and I could not deal with the cigar smell.

The music is kinda loud but the mango mojito is EXCELLENT! They have some really good cigars too.

No, I’m not a cigar smoker but this place makes the strongest mojito I’ve ever had. I mean, just strong and tasty. The only part that sucked was the last time I went the A/​C was broken so the ice in my mojito melted very quickly.
Other that than, this seems like a cool place to have a cigar and grab a cocktail.

Great coffee, and a nice selection of hand rolled cigars. This is a really small place, but the people are friendly, and they have nice outdoor tables where you can sit and watch people on the sidewalk. A very relaxing laidback sort of place.

Love Love this place. The cigars are great and I have never found a better mojito any where. So much enjoy the old Ybor City café. My husband and I stop by here every Saturday night after dinner for a cigar and mojito. If you want a great café con leche, this is the place to find it. This is a must stop if you want to experience party of old Ybor. Sit an one of the outside tables and people watch with your mojito and cigar.

LOVED this place! My husband and I bumped into it one Friday night and we had a GREAT time! Lisa the bartender is a sweetheart and does the BEST mojitos hands down! They played live salsa, merengue, and bachata of which was super entertaining to watch and to dance to. Such a cool little spot!

Great hand rolled cigars made on premise, and very good mojitos. This is one of the last vestiges of old Ybor left among the Coyote Ugly, Prana, and Green Iguana types of «generica» that now dominate 7^th ave. Going in for a mojito, café con leche, cold beer, or a good maduro torpedo is a step back to what made Ybor the cultural center of the bay area in the not so distant past.

I love Ybor City and I love this place… but it’s not just for smokers. Great Coffee, Great Music and Great Atmosphere. An «always stop» for me when I’m flying in and out of Tampa.

Great cigars and BEST MOJITOS IN TAMPA! You might walk right by this place because it’s easy to miss, but make sure you stop by next time you’re in Ybor try their freshly made mojitos.

We always frequent Ybor Cigars Plus when in the area because their hand rolled cigars are so damn good! The staff is always friendly and the ambience is very cool!

Despite the garland, Xmas lights, tinsel in February this place rocks. Great mojitos-​mint, muddled, fresh lime, perfect, even mango! Can’t put in a vote on the cigars though!

It was bright out and my first full day in Tampa visiting college friends. My friend and I wanted to go for a walk. He said «Let’s go here. They got mojitos and cigars» and we entered Ybor Cigars Plus. I was immediately intrigued by the cute Cuban girl working. My Spanish is not the best but I know enough to get my points across. She was so cute. She sang the Spanish love songs and stared into our eyes with passion. The mojitos were weak. I really enjoyed watching her mash the mint down with the poking stick. A very sensual experience. Then I noticed the guy in the corner. He sat down next to my friend. He asked «What kind of sandals are those?» to which my buddy replied «I don’t know. Some $ 10 or $ 15 ones». The young man went in for a closer look. He then licked the bottom of my friend’s sandal! My friend wanted to leave immediately. We stayed for a little while. I told him to stay away from me. I sang back to the beautiful girl and sang songs of El Chupar Zapato. That is how I believe you say «Shoe Licker» but who really knows. He then licked a guy from Cincinnati’s shoe.

In the day it is another place in Ybor to buy handmade cigars. And they are good… In the night it becomes in a little Latin club, that could be fun if you are with your friends. It is a nice place to make a stop, have a drink, have fun and go to visit other bars in the area,

I have been to this establishment several times. The atmosphere at night when the music is playing and the area is alive is fantastic. You are welcomed as a friend even on your first visit. The cigars that I have smoked there were outstanding. I now purchase bundles of twenty five from their website, and have friends and family who want me to start ordering extra so they can have several each. I recommend that you go on a busy night and have a ball.

Mojito wasn’t good, had no matches or boxes for their «box of cigars» special. Not a place I would come to again.

First off, there seems to be some confusion in the photos section for this establishment. All of the pictures are for Metropolitan Cigars (with the Arturo Fuente sign), which is across the street from Ybor Cigars.
Now on with my review… We stumbled upon this place by accident one day walking around after a movie at Centro Ybor. I was surprised to see a tabacalera sitting in the window rolling up some maduros, so I had to go in and see what the deal was. What we found was the owners (Orlando & Paolo) greeting us with open arms like we were some long lost friends of the family. Paola took us into the humidor when I snagged up some aged maduro and then we went to the bar and some drinks and smokes. The mojitos were excellent, and the wifey rather enjoyed their sangria. My cigar was surprisingly good. Usually, when you get these smokes from these small mom n pop type cigar shops, they tend to be lack luster and under-​aged, but not these. The atmosphere was fun as well. They played some Latin tunes on a karaōke machine and have some guys playing on some congas over the music to give a somewhat live music feel, and Orlando and people in the bar take turns singing. It was unique for a cigar shop. Because of the atmosphere, we celebrated the next few New Year’s Eves there. Good times.

We came in here on a Sunday evening, so the Ybor was pretty dead and this place only had a few other customers come in during my 2 hour stay; some Cubans, a Colombian, and a couple other gringos. I thought the mojito was decent and I was quite pleased with the cigars I tried here. In fact I bought 4 more to take home, which was a lot because I am a very infrequent cigar smoker (and never smoke anything else!). The Cuban waitress/​bartender was quite friendly, as was the Cuban guy who was making cigars. When we were done they even gave us directions to a nice Cuban restaurant which was open late. Would like to come back here when they have a live salsa band on a night when the Ybor is not so dead.

Cigars were really not that great. I had a café con leche for $ 4 and a cigar for $ 6. Sat at the bar and smoked for about 20 min before a Bucs game early on a Sat evening. I was the only person there, but it appeared this was set up more for late night drinking and music.

Walking down the streets of Ybor; finding ourselves way out of place, we continued bar hoping and came across this small cigar shop.
An awesome vibe, we decided to go in. Styled like a typical cigar shop found on «calle ocho», in Miami, this place had it going on. Since it was late we didnt witness the live performance, so instead we found ourselves on stage playing around a bit with the tambores.
Two men in the store had been hired to roll cigars, so we decided to sit for a while and order some mojitos! I must admit although they weren’t that great, the place was cool as can be. After a mojito each and a coffee for myself, we were ready to head onto the next bar.
