We have eaten here several times and were happy to find a Groupon to make it an even better deal. The menu is varied and contains many interesting items, very reasonably priced. We’ve been happy with nearly everything we’ve eaten here — meatloaf muffin, linguine with clams, steak, roasted pork special, rosemary chicken, to name a few. The hamburger is especially good, and a great bargain at $ 7. We ordered dessert when we used our Groupon, and these were fantastic too. We’ve heard that the wings are something special, just haven’t tried them yet — next time for sure. The kids menu contains many options, but be aware that the mac & cheese is not«blue box» and the chicken tender is not the type you’d be handed in a paper bag at a drive-thru window. At Gunner’s, these items are home made and have a more«grown up» feel to them, which is not always appreciated by the younger crowd. Buttered noodles were a hit with our little one. Service has always been friendly, efficient, and attentive without being intrusive. The owner often makes a brief visit to our table as well. If you are looking for something different than the many chain restaurants in Westminster, make the trek out to this hidden gem, and go when you are very hungry! Portions are quite generous.

I mean, it is in the middle of nowhere and I imagine the only way this place gets business is word of mouth BUT it’s a decent place. It’s very romantic inside, and the service/atmosphere is lovely. The food was alright, nothing spectacular, but I was there for lunch so maybe dinner is more worth your effort. If you’re nearby — do it up. Honestly, it’s better than your other options in this area which are McDonald’s, Baskin Robbins or road kill. And when you’re done, head over to Sensations just a little to the Northeast!

Had a great dinner and even better service. Large glass of wine, incredible cream of crab soup, and tasty prime rib dinner. I would pass on the pineapple upside down cake next time — not great. I listened to other patrons and they all seemed happy with their meals, including the jumbo lump crab cake. I would recommend this place, plus they had original artwork on the walls for sale. Good atmosphere — crowd of regulars at the bar.

3.5 stars, rounded down because of the lack of heat or a/c. Charming barn/log cabin-like setting in the country — very large space. Nice bar in the back with a couple of large flatscreens, as well as a partioned off bar to the side. Good, country type hospitality and service. What’s funny is that guys who have worked in Taneytown for many years never knew it existed. «It’s on the other side of town,» they explained, as if it wasn’t a 2 – 3 minute drive or a 15 – 20 min walk, tops :). Anyhow, they both thanked me several times for letting them know about the place. What can I say — it was the only place reviewed on the Internet at all, except for some pizza joint called No Anchovies. So, thanks, Unilocal! Gunner’s does have central heat/air but I have gathered it rarely works. Someone in our group who had eaten there before in the summertime said they had no a/c at the time and it was sweltering hot. And this time, it was freezing. They had a space heater nearby but it wasn’t on or didn’t help — and they have a huge fireplace that would have been so nice if a fire had been crackling in it. The seafood soups are really good — and a little more bacon-y and buttery than creamy. My clam chowder had large clams in it, and everyone else raved about the cream of crab soup they also had as a special. Unfortunately, I wanted to try their chicken fried steak, but their menu is limited until 4pm, when entrees are available. The waitress suggested the salmon cake sandwich, which was pretty good. The steak fries were slightly battered and reminded me of hearty Sonic fries. Bad for you, but yum. Sweet potato fries were also an option instead of steak fries that others seemed to enjoy. One person ordered an open-faced shaved prime rib steak and cheese sandwich that was huge and doused with gravy — she was very happy. It looked like the best thing any of us ordered from the sandwiches/burger menu. If I went back, I would order that off the lunch menu, or perhaps the crab cake sandwich(their sister restaurant up further into the countryside is a seafood restaurant). UPDATE12÷19÷11: Gunner’s Grille recently e-mailed me to let me know that they’ve fixed their A/C. AND that they could accept requests from the dinner menu. So 3.5+ stars then :).

We have dined here four or five times since they opened. My husband is never disappointed with the stuffed burgers and sweet potato fries. I have tried many different dishes my favorites being the california chicken sandwich, mussels and linquine, and meatloaf muffins. It is family friendly and we enjoy the one on one attention from Brooke. It is really nice to be welcomed back each time with smiling faces. This is 110% better than the past restaurants/owners. Welcome to Taneytown Gunner’s Grille, we’ve been waiting for you!

Had the stuffed chicken and it was marvelous, artichoke and crab dip was yummy and the service was friendly and even though the house was packed the owner still had time to stop and chat with us and even gave a personal touch by serving us our meal. There is a whole other side to the resturant that opens next week and that will make this place even better than what it already is. I highly recommend going there.

I received a notice saying that there was a complaint about our honest review and unfortunate experience with this restaurant so I’ve removed the post. Let’s just say that we will not be going back and leave it at that! DEFINITELY not up to our expectations.

Built in what looks like a log cabin house, this quiet restaurant has a nice bar and a versatile menu including appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, and entrees. The group I took for a lunch meeting had a turkey burger, all american burger and a salmon Cesare salad. According to them, they were all very good! Nice quit, hometown attitude, worth the stop if you’re passing through.
