Came here several times, each time worse than before. Burgers medium-well or more cooked only, can’t change any ingredients on the menu. Kitchen closes at 6 or 6:30, while mountain is open till 10pm on Saturdays. The entire restaurant is starving after a day on the mountain, and instead of feeding them and profiting from it, this place gets people trashed to drive to the next bar for food. However General Manger and his family come in any time and order whatever they want, in they want. Whole resort is crying for new management. Never coming back till new ownership is in place.

I like the thirsty camel. For a captive restaurant, they make a great applewood bacon cheeseburger. Often they have live music and televisions playing sports games. That is a great combination. Beer is reasonably priced, considering you are at a resort of sorts. The staff has always been friendly and I have never waited for a table, despite the fact that it gets crowded. It is loud and intense at times. I am ok with that.

Prices are equivalent to what you would spend at an Applebee’s or Friday’s. 10 dollars for an appetizer and 15 for a meal. We just had appetizers and enjoyed the live music by the bar.

Camel Back is a great place to snowboard. The people are very friendly and the facilities are great. This review is specifically s review of the restaurant. After a good morning of boarding we decided to skip the cafeteria and pay up for what we thought would be a better experience. We couldn’t have been more wrong. After ordering the waitress cane back and said she forgot to tell us that they were taking up to an hour and a half to get the food ready. I understand that things like this can happen some times but when the food cane out an hour later it was thoroughly cold. That didn’t make any sense. And the worst part is the food was literally the exact same as what the cafeteria was serving. We know this because we are there the following day. We paid three times the price and waited extremely longer for the exact same food but cold. Skip the restaurant just go to the cafeteria.

When I am skiing and it time to break for lunch I have zero desire to wait in line in a café so bring on whatever waiter service place the mountain offers. So I found my self at the Thirsty Camel which was a little chaotic in the seating since there no host and it just every man for themselves on getting one the packed tightly in tables. Since there are so many tables too close to one another unless your at the end it hard to be bother by the vulture feel of people waiting to snatch your seat. And I get why it so back there limited space and I am sure I am not the only one who’d rather have a server than stand in a café line. But maybe a little more room would be nice. Wasn’t a huge fan of the menu there were a ton of vegetation option. I went with the veggie pizza which was peppers and onions so not much of a veggie pizza. But it did feel awesome to sit.

Thirsty Camel is in Camelback Mountain Resort. How many chairs can they squeeze in here? Helluvalot! This bar is packed with skiers eating lunch and drinking beer, and is ultra-packed après-ski since this is the only place that offers food AND drink in the main base area. Once we snagged a table for lunch the ordering was friendly and efficient. Plus the food comes fast! Obviously pre-made assembly-line to handle the crowd. There are about a dozen types of burgers plus apps, soups, sandwiches and wraps. The ½ pound Angus beef burger with homemade hot sauce and bleu cheese dressing was pretty good and you get a huge quarter slice of pickle. Unfortunately only waffle fries were offered and tasted just ok. Après-ski the bar offers a live cover band and people were dancing. At least on Sat. It was so crowded but eventually we managed to get 3 stools at the bar. Ambience reminded me of a wedding party, complete with 70s music like Pointer Sisters and KC& the Sunshine Band. If that gets to be a bit much, you can always go back outside and do some night skiing!

This is the only restaurant in Camelback that serves alcohol. It is always packed here but what do you expect?! There is nothing gourmet or anything special here. choices of wraps, burgers and sandwiches are available. Food servings are decent enough to give you energy for your next ski runs. Bar serves a wide variety of beer and cocktails all day. Service in at not be the best since the waiter takes orders from multiple customers simultaneously.
