Adventure Ski Rentals

I was very happy with my ski rental. I also rented skis from Cottam’s and was not happy with the equipment they provided.
After renting from both places, I felt I was given better skis, boots and poles here! I have been skiing for over 30 years and very picky with my equipment. This is the first trip I have ever rented skis since mine were old and out dated.
Boots are a very important piece of equipment and the boots here were so much better than what Cottom’s gave me.
The guy who helped me even waxed the skis right in front of me at no charge so the skis would perform better!

Keep in mind that this is all based on my experience from renting from 2 different businesses. But I know my equipment and can recognize the difference between good skiis and average skiis.
I felt I needed to write this review after my experience and reading one persons negative review. My advice is to rent skiis when they are not as busy!

I was very happy to rent from here.
I am pretty sure their rates are lower than on the mountain but cannot speak about elsewhere in town. While they are located South of town, their location makes sense as equipment can be dropped off as one is headed south to Santa Fe or ABQ
When returning the equipment (which performed just fine) they handled a very fussy customer who wanted a refund on an outfit with cool and grace. They are nice people and seem trustworthy in their approach.
For you snowboarders, they claimed to have the best choices and most up to date equipment. While I am not a boarder, it seemed they were pretty prepared.

When you come to ski in one of the most advanced and difficult ski spots in the US, then you should have good equipment to match. This place does not provide that.
For three years, I have stopped in this establishment to help others get skis for the slopes. Each year something seems to happen that warrants my negative review.
The price is low, but unfortunately it is not right! Their skis are very dated, and I am not a ski equipment snob. Even worse, their service and reliability of equipment is poor. On a recent trip, my father’s skis fell apart after one day. The runaway brake came straight off the ski binding when he was stopping for lunch. Another time, we had to argue with one of the guys about pricing of their packages when we returned the skis. They wanted to charge one of my friends for a nicer ski package even though it was the same model everyone else had used.
2 out of 5 b/​c they did make good on my father’s skis which broke.

Prices weren’t bad, $ 24.00 for their performance set of skis. They did good work and the skis were pretty good for rentals.
