If I could do 4.5, I would. The cocktails here are excellent, particularly the house manhattan, made with rye and the fancy cocktail cherries(not those cheap, sickeningly sweet and industrial tasting neon red numbers). The food is spot on – salads are fresh with clever homemade dressing, like the Greek salad with the pesto vinaigrette, the lamb chomps are tender and come with a generous helping of mashed potatoes and properly(not too over, not too under) cooked veggies, and the truffle fries are just the right thickness. If you can snag one, the couch seats are super comfy. Our server was very friendly and attentive, although maybe a tad too quick with the check when we said we weren’t getting dessert. It deterred us from ordering another round, but that’s a minor, minor quibble. I’m taking away a half a star for turning off the TVs on Saturday night to accommodate the live music, but I’m a curmudgeon that way. I would recommend that friends stop in if visiting Taos.

Had 2 appetizers and both had the Filet with their signature sauce. All was beyond perfect. The appetizer list is most imaginative so go enjoy!

Greeted by Sage, the most sincerely enthusiastic hostess ever, she walked us through the menu, and was so excited about the rye whiskey stone sour, I had no choice but to order it. So complex and delicious, the egg whites brought every flavor together with rich smooth perfection. The chips with queso, guacamole and salsa were dynamite. This is not your run of the mill chips and dip. Each of the three dippers were so unique. The Salsa Was SO verdent with a delightful Pepper finish yet still almost creamy. The lobster grilled cheese with gruyère on bread they make themselves should be banned or at least regulated by the FDA as a controlled substance. These guys are killin’ it.

I’ve been to this restaurant several times now and haven’t been disappointed. Fantastic 4oz fillet with mashed potatoes and grilled veggies for only $ 17. If you’re looking for something vegetarian they have a great spicy gazpacho topped with watermelon that I paired with the grilled vegetable and polenta stack. Great flavor blends in all 3 dishes! Casual atmosphere, good place to catch a game too with lots of TV’s. Maybe not the best date night atmosphere, but good for meeting up with friends.

Logo and name(after the owner/chef I am told) look from the 80’s and driving by we both thought it was a sushi or Asian eatery due to the signage out front. Out of towners from Denver doing a little tour of northern New Mexico on way up from ABQ. As most all restaurants close at 9pm, we opted for this place as it was open until midnight and had live music. **Food was 5 stars excellent — kitchen and chef know what they are doing and this from a guy who nearly eats out for a living. Menu is trying to hard with too many items across to many genres but not end of world if they can execute the dishes. Service was a bit slow on what felt like a pretty dead Friday evening — our waitress seemed pulled across too many tables or something. Then again this is typical in smaller tourist towns and maybe that is the pace. Hostess before we were seated briefed us on having to pay a $ 5 cover at 9:30 when the band starts playing –while we are eating??? Never actually happened but thought it was weird that if you are caught enjoying a nice meal and $$ drinks when the band starts the place is going to make you fork over $ 10? Thought the dreadlock crowd of 5 – 6 kids near the stage was friends of the band but the Starbucks cup and only water glasses should have been a clue — they were vagrant travelers crashing the joint for some tunes and feet up time — eventually someone caught on and asked them to leave(there backpacks and skateboard were in the hall coat closet). Doesn’t matter who they were but you can’t have folks like this loitering around while expecting paying customers to drop $ 10 for a cocktail or think of your place as fine dining with smelly drifters. Alcohol seemed expensive $ 10 shot of mid grade tequila and a whole lot of fancy house cocktails that might fly in Denver but doubt many visitors or locals are paying $ 13 for a mixologist concoction. Lamb chops were delicious(all the food was spot on) but we thought 20 minutes was a bit long to wait for the entrée. They had a young musician and his friends up to play some tunes before the evening band — appreciate giving someone a break but it was tough to eat and listen to a Black Crowes wannabe band screeching it out on stage — have them play at 7pm or during the day on the patio turned down and all would be good. Made the wait for the chops seem longer. Don’t get me wrong — food was great, open later than the unofficial NM restaurant closing time of 9pm, and a friendly nice décor.

Food and cocktails at Kyoto Club are consistently beautifully prepared and delicious. Service is excellent as well. Great to have a new addition to the finer restaurants in town. The menu is very diverse — have had nothing but great meals here.

What a great little place! Came here for a late lunch/early dinner after a birthday drive on the Enchanted Highway. The cocktails were amazing and so was the food! We were there for happy hour and were shocked to see so few people. Service was great and the ambiance was pretty cool. Definitely recommend checking this place out!

So I can take or leave the name. But who cares if the food/drinks/service are great? To be fair, my buddy and I were in when it was relatively slow. The server wasn’t extremely knowledgeable(said they were out of Marble beer but had a Marble handle and other staff corrected her that they in fact were not out of Marble beer). I think perhaps a bit more training would serve the staff well. But she was very nice and checked in on us in a timely manner. The beer we had was nice and cold(sometimes an issue), and the Beam and Coke I had was as expected. The décor is fine, and after a talk with the owner we realized that he was only just fleshing out his ideas for the place, so I think in the future it may look somewhat different inside. As it is it’s a little dark, but we liked the vibe and the old school music piping in. The TVs are there, but as a nice touch, at the bar area they are behind the glass, so when turned off they cannot be seen. Even when on this gave the bar a much more regal look. The menu is interesting. The layout is somewhat confused and cluttered. Not much design happening there. But a closer inspection reveals something beyond your normal bar fare. It’s bar food with a gourmet twist, and there were quite a few items that had me salivating, do it was a little sad that I could only pick one. Prices were also really reasonable for the type of food that is being described. I ordered the«Local’s Burger». The beef comes from Harris Ranch in CO, which is by all accounts a good free-range and hormone free affair. It came with the usuals: tomato, lettuce, pickle, bacon, cheddar and green chile, with a side of truffle fries. This was one of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten. I ordered mid rare and the temp was spot on. Very flavorful and juicy. Amazing bun that apparently is made locally and delivered daily. The truffle fries were also fantastic. Seriously one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. $ 12 gets you to burger ecstacy. Apps ranged from $ 6 – 8, with entrees going from $ 9 – 15 or so, with some really interesting items that are definitely more gourmet than you are likely to find in your regular bar. Overall I think the place has massive potential. I think it’s a great idea to have a more upscale type of bar with more gourmet food stuffs but still at prices even the typical working man/woman can afford. While it’s not 5 star yet, I think it could easily get there. Whether it goes the direction of an upscale sports bar or for more of a speakeasy kind of vibe, either could work and as long as the service and food stays rocking, Kyote Club has a hit on their hands.

Its a sports bar that didn’t work — turned into another sports bar that didn’t work and now its the guy who used to cook at lamberts place, and he named it «cleverly» after himself. His name is «ky»? so its called«ky-ote club» — sharp thinking. The food is GREAT — the menu is awful — it makes no sense and deserves less than a restaurant grade. Its all small plates & lunch and dinner are identical. And again you’re in a sports bar. Hopefully Ky can have a better location in the future and thrive with full sized plates.

We were lucky enough to have our 20 year class reunion here. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was even better, the drinks, perfecto. I am so glad that we got to experience this place. Not only does it have a family friendly atmosphere, later in the night it turns into a really fun night club. The night we were there there was salsa dancing, they even had an instructor on hand to help us learn how to salsa. Which in itself was a really cool experience, she was very patient and fun. The food was really good, I had a green chile cheeseburger which was very tasty and the truffle fries were great! Others at our table had lamb chops, a steak, and a steak sandwich, all of which looked amazing and everyone raved about how tasty their food was. I really wanted to try the lobster grilled cheese, and regret not getting, but that means we will just have to go back. I cannot wait to bring my little foodie kiddos, and see what they think. You can tell that the chef Ky, takes great pride in the food he and his brigade produce, the freshness of ingredients comes through in each and every dish they serve! Kudos to Ky and Scott for bringing such a cool place to Taos! I recommend for everyone to stop by, if you are ever in town. Tell them I sent you!

We were very pleasantly surprised by Kyote Club. The ambiance was lovely and I would definitely just come back to sit at the bar, have a drink and listen to live music. We ordered the truffle fries as an appetizer and they were amazing, but when is truffle a bad choice?!? Two of us ordered tacos and they were good. One of us ordered the Mediterranean timbale and it was outstanding. I’m only choosing to give them a 4 because the staff was a bit off. Could have been a bad day for everyone. They just weren’t very happy, but they did get our orders right. All in all I would come back here again.

Stopped in early evening for a beverage. It was pretty much a ghost town but I assume it picks up quite nicely at nite. My first plus was fleetwood mac on the airwaves… nice afternoon vibes. Jenny the bartender was friendly, hardworking, and made me a mean Moscow mule, complete with chewy ginger candy, ok so maybe I had two ;) overall a nice spot in Taos… nothing fancy or special but better than a lot of similar establishments.

Kyote Club is a nice addition to the Taos food scene– something to balance out the endless parade of «New Mexican» cuisine restaurants. It’s on the pricier side, especially if you get drinks + apps to start, so I won’t go often, but it’s a decent choice for a special occasion. Full bar(cocktails start at $ 8) and TVs; large appetizer list, $ 8 – 9 each. I was happy paying $ 17 for my 4 oz. filet mignon + smashed potatoes; the steak was cooked to order(you’d be surprised how often I order«rare» and get something barely pink on the inside). Lamb chops were also good, not at all overcooked. Small dessert menu– the night I went, it was chocolate mousse, carrot cake, and peach/strawberry cobbler. Our server was fine; took accurate orders, served them to us hot, and otherwise left us alone, which is enough for me.

On the 4th of July we were celebrating the night before our first wedding anniversary and were looking for a nice but moderately priced place to eat in Taos, NM. I read about this place in the Dining Out magazine and looked at their menu online. We decided to try it and am I glad we did! I started with the Amelia, a signature cocktail with vodka, elderberry liqueur blackberries and sparkling wine. It was terrific, the muddled blackberries releasing their. fkavor in conjunction with the other flavors. Then we had 2 small plates, a crab chile relleno and avocado risotto. Both were excellent, the relleno stuffed with crabmeat and cheese and battered then fried to just the right temperature. It was delicious and goey and big enough for both of us to share. The avocado risotto was smooth, wonderful and again enough for two with delicate avocado flavor so as not to overpower the tastes. For dinner I had the 4 oz filet mignon($ 17) and my husband had the lamb chops($ 19). My first cut into the filet, the knife just glided through it with no effort — we joked about it was«like buttah», but it truly was. My first bite was an explosion of flavor, slightly salty and exactly medium rare, just how I had ordered it. I continued to savor every luscious bite and while I thought 4 oz would be too small, with the accompanying thin crispy onion rings, mashed potatoes, red chile demiglace and sauteed summer veggies, it was just the perfect size. Normally veggies on the side play second fiddle but these were wonderfully flavorful and so fresh you could taste it. I am allergic to onions, especially raw, but I wanted to taste the rings before I gave my husband. the crunchy crispy outside was absolutely perfect and I ended up eating a number of them for just that reason, while I bore the slight onion taste inside(the rings were very thin-cut). And I kept going back for. more bites of the steak, which gave me a mouth orgasm everytime I had another bite. I left a piece for the very end because I wanted my mouth to remember and savor that last wonderous bit of meat. My husband had the lamb chops. He said they were flavorful, melted like butter in his mouth, with bone in. They were sumptuous and the best he had ever had. He even chewed on a bone and used a line from one of our favorite movies, «Stage Door», where Eve Arden snaps at Lucille Ball when Lucy says a producer is taking her to a fancy steakhouse: «Don’t eat the bones, you’ll give yourself away!» My husband started knawing on the bone, looked up at me and said, «Am I giving myself away?» They were that good. His sides were similar to mine, minus the onion rings. The only disappointment was the glass of house wine my husband ordered. He said it tasted like it had been sitting open for a while. He ordered a different wine and was delighted with it. He didn’t return the first wine as he should have, and did not mention it to our server, so the restaurant couldn’t take responsibility for it. But i’m sure they would have. Theoughout our server was helpful without being intrusive, refilled water glasses withouto asking, made sure everything was right in our orders and was very fun to speak with. She presented the best face of the restaurant and we tipped her 25% because of her excellent service. Overall I highly rate this restaurant. It’s a fun concept the chef calls a «culinary club». I was surprised there were not more diners there that evening. There was a dj playing and as we were leaving, many folks were coming in to dance. I think they are missing out on the best part of this club — the culinary part. Chef Ky Quintanilla has a wonderful concept here and the next time we are in Taos, we will definitely return here.

Don’t really have too much to say about this place since I only went in for drinks except that it is expensive and they make nasty drinks. I had two beers and an old fashioned to end the night. The old fashioned was 13 bucks but tasted like something that could have come out of paper bag. Yuck! This thing had like 3 – 4 shots in it and tasted like strait bourbon. I left it there. The service was also very crappy. They had 4 people working and maybe 15 customers. They refused to acknowledge that I was standing at the bar with cash in my hand ready to order and instead chose to talk to each other. I would have left but luckily someone in my party knew one of them and got their attention. The only plus is that the inside is nice. There are better places to have a few beers at that also probably mix more flavorful drinks. Enter at your own risk.

Horrible Service! We walked in and sat down –and we sat at our table for 15minutes before I finally had to flag down a waitress. Previously, She had walked past us four times and said nothing to attend to us! Our truffle fries were good and brought by a Busser in a timely manner. In addition, we asked for napkins and our server looked at us confused as if she had no idea what a napkin was. Overall, don’t eat here if you want served, these servers don’t know their behind from their head! On a last note, the table beside us received their bill before the actual drink they were paying for.

Live music, exuberant service, craft cocktails, and an inventive menu, well executed. When we went, April 2015, Kyote was a new arrival on the Taos scene so it was still relatively easy to get a seat. That won’t be true for long, so make reservations, and ask for a couch. Beet salad and truffle fries were excellent. The lobster grilled cheese looked fantastic, but I’ll have to wait til next time cuz I filled up on fries.

Great food and drinks! Go here! The atmosphere is local with elegance with class. I was there on a Thursday; they had live jazz. It was a pleasant surprise. The staff was friendly. The food is great! I had the pork shoulder; would get it again. The drink I had was delish! Gin, and I’m not a gun fan, with raspberries and fresh egg whites! I will be back!

If there were more stars I would give them! From the delicious beverages to the appetizers to dinner and dessert, there was not one miss! Ky Quintanilla and his talented kitchen have created a delicious dining experience! Not to be missed is the calamari,!the mussels or the truffle fries. Add in the magical ingredient of live music and great ambience and the Kyote club is not to be missed! Perfection!
