Excellent children’s section for a small town library. Friendly staff. Internet access was fast with no packet loss; I worked for four hours while the kids read and used the educational games on the computers. Restroom was clean for such a heavily used public place. Yes you can’t drink in the library; it’s a *library*.

My wife and I are visiting Taos for a week and wanted to do some research for the next leg of our trip. The Taos Library was a short walk away and we were happy to find some travel books covering most of the topics we needed. The library was busy but we did manage to find a place to sit and the staff maintained a quiet atmosphere conductive to reading. Why only 2 stars then? The internet was unusable and they don’t allow you to drink water in the library. I’m quite familiar with the reason that food and drink aren’t allowed and happily go outside if I need a snack or plan to drink something other than water but asking us to step outside every time we want a sip of water, that seems absurd.
Very easy for this library to move from a 2 to a 4 and I hope they do.
