In a teeny tiny shop at 54 Main Street in Tarrytown you will find Wade Solomon. Wade is friendly, affable, and competent. He fixed my vacuum and sharpened several knives for $ 20.

If you walk too fast, you might miss this storefront. Just a few doors down from the Tarrytown Fire Station, and just before Hudson Chiropractic, it is a tiny sliver of a storefront.
Wade Solomon, the proprietor loves to fix things. I first went to him for little things; a spare part here, an extra vacuum bag there. He’s always friendly and knowledgeable. I have a vintage Electrolux Vacuum Cleaner, and twice Wade saved the day. The first time I went to him, he fashioned a new filter for it out of felt. The second time, he was able to fix the vacuum hose which had grown worn out from use.
Wade also sharpens knives, which I didn’t realize until I read another Unilocal review.
Wade is friendly, loves to fix things, has a knack for electronics, is honest, and his prices are reasonable. Two thumbs up!

I have driven by this place for years. It is a small shop that advertises the sharpening of knives, scissors and mower blades, as well as vacuum and lamp repair. I have a bunch of knives that had gone dull, and I never seem to be able to get it together when Henckels has its sharpening event. I took my knives here, and the kind man who runs the shop told me he could have my knives back to me in about 24 hours. He sharpened them very well and at an excellent price. Seriously, seriously sharp! I was told that the shop will be moving over to a place close to the YMCA in the next month. I will certainly be bringing him my scissors and knives in the future. I am very pleased with the service I got here.
