Small spot, but such good food and quick service. Steak taco bowl is amazing. Chicken burrito is pretty good too.

Extremely well made plates. Pretty plates. Friendly, but a little young staff. By that I mean, you’re at work kid, coming out onto the floor and leaning back against the counter is weird. But whatever, I’m an old time restaurant worker. Besides that little gripe, the place makes great food. The guac is fantastic! Reasonable price, not dirt cheap, but it’s good for a non-authentic taco place. And that’s fine! If you want that, there are places like that in Sleepy Hollow. I will be eating here a lot, no doubt.

When you walk inside the restaurant the place is not large, it has seating along the windows, with high stools that overlook the street — great for people watching. The staff is friendly and service was quick. There is a wide variety to chose from on the menu so, there is something for everyone. I ordered the Taco’s that were fresh and delicious! I had the Grilled Chicken Taco(2 Hard White Corn Shells) at a fantastic price of $ 7.50. The Tacos were medium sized and that was perfect for me since I don’t like to eat a lot. What made these Taco’s taste so great was the special sauce at the bottom of the Taco, it was almost like Mayo, but with flavor. *Note: The Taco also comes in a Soft Tortilla. All and all, I would come back here again and try a different Taco since you can’t beat their prices and variety. **Note: there is plenty of Metered street parking, so just bring plenty of quarters.

I just want to very quickly shout out this little Mexican spot in Tarrytown that is killing it at least in terms of their chicken tacos. I came here just before a nearby press event and when I got my order my coworker texted me that she had arrived, so I honestly had about 15 seconds to wolf down my meal here, and still it was wildly good. I wish I could say more, or suggest more dishes, but I was probably in here for like 8 minutes total. I am reveiwing mostly because I saw that this place has a 3 ½ and really don’t know why. No offense to Tarrytown, but they should be thanking their lucky stars they have a spot like this. I live on the Upper East Side in NYC and I have to walk almost 15 blocks to get a chicken taco I like this much. This spot is definitely one of the better Mexican joints in all of Westchester.

Very cozy spot, great for popping in for a bite. Overall food was fresh and tasty, not remarkable, though I am leaving my mind open to a better second visit. FWIW, the short rib taco was more flavorful and more filling than the fish taco, and overall both were good(one order gets you two tacos, abpout $ 7 per order). Fresh Guac was delicious, as were the tortilla chips, which I think were made on the premises. My partner had crunchy beef taco, which she enjoyed. We were curious about other things on the menu and will return to sample. If you like to eat, the price can escalate quickly, but at least you have to option to keep it low if you want to dine lite. Oh and the staff was kind and helpful. Give it a try.

Great little taco place in Tarrytown. We’ve been meaning to stop by since last summer when we saw it and finally had a chance to today. Fresh flavors and something on the menu for every taste. It’s small so you may have to stand to eat if they are busy, but don’t let that stop you from trying something new. Forgot to mention, the staff was really nice!

Had this for lunch. The staff are really nice and helpful. The establishment itself was clean and nice. I ordered the chicken bowl and was very satisfied with the quality of the food. I also ordered chips with their pico de gallo sauce which was pleasantly tasty. I’ll definitely go back to try their chips and apple habernero sauce; I hear it’s really good.

First time here and I ended up getting 6 tacos because everything looked too good and I couldn’t choose. Ended up being a great decision because they were all delicious and full of flavor. The pork belly taco was insanely good on its own and then with a little chipotle mayo, this place instantly became my new lunch spot. Vibe and staff are also spot on!

Good Mexican food. Maybe little pricy, but I am OK with paying little extra as long as the food is good, and made from fresh ingredients. If you come on the right time of the day, you can enjoy 2 tacos for only 6 $, which I think is more than fair. What I like is that even when you get the special price discount, they make the same tacos, with the same taste. The restaurant: The staff is smiley and friendly, and actually makes you feel they enjoy serving you. This is an important fact, especially when the case is a local Spanish restaurant, and not a fancy restaurant where you stay for 2 – 3 hours.

This is one of the places I keep coming back to whenever I’m in Tarrytown. I love their laid back atmosphere. I love the ambiance and decorations. I love their nice and chill service. Most of all, I love their tacos.(Note: I have not tried their burritos or bowls yet. Will update once I do that.) My favorite taco of theirs is their fish taco – but their short rib tacos are so amazing and tender! It’s a close second. Their other tacos haven’t been as exciting for me but still alright(I’ve tried their steak tacos and shrimp tacos also). I also recommend trying out their drinks. The horchata is ten types of amazing. I love that texture, the creamy sweetness. They also serve Jarritos and plenty of other drinks. Seriously, two tacos + horchata reaaaally fills you up. PS: their sangria is also pretty solid.

3.5 and based on delivery. 2 shrimp tacos for $ 7.50 = not terrible in this area, and actually really great tasting. Guacamole delivered in two small containers. preferred in a bigger container so you can use the chips(meh) to dig it out better. but you can tell ingredients are grand and everything is fresh. minus the chips and container issue. super happy with my lunch delivery choice. well we picked it up. i don’t know if they deliver.

I had the privilege of having lunch at the taco project today with a friend and must say that I was extremely satisfied with the service, food and atmosphere. The shrimp bowl was excellent and the beef tacos were delicious. The owner Nick and his staff were friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend this restaurant to anybody who is craving really good tacos and salads. It is by far the best taco place around.

I grew up in the area and am having a hard time adjusting to Tarrytown becoming Outer Brooklyn. And as a former San Diegan, I have serious doubts about any attempt at SoCal/Baja style Mexican on the east coast. So I was more than a little skeptical about the appearance of hipster tacos on Main Street. However, I was pleasantly surprised. I’ve been to The Taco Project three times now, and they have genuinely great tacos. Even excellent fish tacos, which I am particularly picky about. Also, fantastic horchata. Drawbacks? Well, it’s neither as cheap nor as fast as the real deal. So they get four stars instead of five. But it’s tasty, tasty, tasty!

I’d been dying to try Taco Project since it had great reviews in Westchester magazine, but me and my little companion left disappointed. My buddy got the chicken tacos and the hibiscus agua fresca. The chicken was salty and the portion very small, especially for the price. The agua fresca was enjoyed however. So that was a bright spot. I got the chorizo and potato tacos and I was salivating and then sad at the portion again. The flavor was there, but the portion size was just pathetic. I could do way better for that price in my own house. I also had the horchata and didn’t finish it because it was very strange tasting. I don’t know exactly what it tasted like, maybe a shortcut. We also split the apple habanero salsa and had mixed feelings. I liked it at first, as did my little companion, but the more I ate it the more it tasted like apples and ketchup mixed together. There was no kick to it, it was very sweet and just tasted weird. I have to say this was not an experience I’m eager to repeat. Maybe if the portion sizes were larger because some of the flavors were there. But for now, I think I’ll just stick to other options in Tarrytown.

This was nice. I did Shrimp Tacos and my friend did Chicken. My tacos had shredded Mangos, Cilantro and Red Onions on it and were sauteed in a sweet, spicy sauce — I felt like it was flirting w/me. It was so yummy. We sat outside, the staff checked up on us adequately and the vibe was nice for a midday bite. I love to hit up random spots and they turn out great. I’d def do again.

Stopped in for lunch with friends and we were all underwhelmed with our food. I tried shrimp tacos, fish tacos, and rice and beans. The portions for the tacos were small, but the shrimp tacos were tasty. The shrimp are breaded and fried, so if you are looking for something a bit healthier go with the fish tacos, which are not as tasty but the fish is grilled. Don’t get a burrito here as they aren’t very good. Overall I’d give 3 stars for the food, but I’m subtracting a star because it’s expensive for such small portions, and because the person taking the orders was not friendly and looked like he’d rather have been somewhere else.

Mehhhhhhh. While I’m glad that I finally got to try the Taco Project, I wasn’t at all impressed with the menu or with the quality of the tacos. It will tide you over if you are really craving some Bar Taco and not feeling the longer drive, but it is in no way comparable in terms of price or quality. The service is also super laggy, which is surprising considering the number of cooks they have in the back and the number of hostesses they have. Unfortunately, because it seems like a family run joint, they don’t do much to keep the employees in check. I had the shrimp and pork belly tacos. The pork belly was dry and the canned pineapples didn’t add much to the mix. The shrimp was a little better, but still subpar. Both types of tacos were lacking the pop of flavor that I was expecting from a taco joint. PS. It would be nice if they offered water to go with your meal. Unfortunately, you have to pay for that too.

Good place if you love taco and Mexican fast food, I went with a few of my co-worker to give a shot at this place. They have taco specials everyday 6 dollars for two taco, too bad you cannot mix the taco you can only have the deal with one of the kind. I order the soft shrimp taco and the soft steak taco. Each one was delicious, had a great taste and had bring a lot salad, shrimp and steak. The staff are super friendly and always ready to server. The only bad thing is that they don’t have to many tables.
