This review is based solely on Tomi-​Jo. If I could give 100 stars I would!!!
I was introduced to Tomi Jo about 3.5 years ago through a good friend of mine who was lucky enough to find her first! For years my fine, curly, yet stringy hair had been so over processed and needed some very long overdue TLC. Tomi-​Jo was just what the doctor ordered.
From the second I sat in her chair, I Immediately knew she was different. I had been trying to grow my hair out for years unsuccessfully. She gave me advice on how I could get my hair healthier and helped me developed what I like to call my «healthy hair plan». Over the next few years, she didn’t process it nearly as much and added in several colors to achieve a look that made my hair look fuller and healthier. She also rarely used bleach which had been the major culprit of my undesirable hair for years!
Aside from being a wonderful hair stylist, she has also become a friend. I look forward to getting my hair done and it’s not such a «chore». After I got engaged, Tomi-​Jo helped me again (as she always does) with a new wedding hair plan. I had appointments set with her in the few months leading up to the wedding to make sure we achieved the desired color, thickness and cut for the big day.
On April 2 I got married to the love of my life and Tomi-​Jo was there to help me and all my bridesmaids, flower girl, officiant and mothers get ready. Tomi Jo started bright and early with me at 630am so she could dry and roll my hair. From 630 – 430 she was non stop! She achieved all the desired hairstyles for the many different women (12 in total) based upon photos or ideas.
I seriously cannot say enough good things about Tomi Jo both personally and professionally. She is truly a gem and such a blessing. You will not be disappointed with her. She’s the BEST!

This review is for Lisa Koh. I never received a service from her because I walked out before we even got started. I imagine that she is running a Groupon in order to drum up business and gouging customers is not the way to do it!
Firstly I found it strange that the number provided on her Groupon is a cell phone without a personalized voicemail. I would imagine if you are running a promotion and a business you would have a voicemail indicating to your clients that they called the right place. Nevertheless, I left a message. When we first spoke, she informs me in a not so friendly manner that long hair and thick hair would require an upcharge. I told her my hair was past my shoulders but was definitely not thick– it’s quite thin since I’ve had kids.
I arrived to the salon and sat in the chair. She proceeds to inform me that there would be a $ 40 charge because my hair was long AND thick. My hair when pulled into a pony tail is about ½”-¾″ in diameter at the rubber band. We went back and forth and I thought to myself– ok you’re here. But already I had a bad taste in my mouth.
The kicker was she told me it would be another $ 40 for toner. So I paid $ 65 for the Groupon, and another $ 80 in charges?! I’ve never paid for toner as a separate charge. At that point I decided to leave. If I was going to drop almost $ 200 with a tip– it wasn’t going to be on her. I wasn’t getting any kind of a deal. And needless to say, I do not recommend this stylist or her Groupon– unless you have three hairs on your head that are 3″ long you might save some $.

Just got my hair done with Lisa Koh at Moniques Salon and she did an amazing job. I’m so in love with the color and cut. I highly recommend her.

I was recommended by my boss to come to nicollette but i was being a cheap a$$ and went to someone else. Long story short, i went to some cheap spot and got my virgin hair bleached 7 times because she kept messing up, tried to fix it with someone else, and then tried fixing it myself. $ 350 later, i went to nicollette to perform a miracle. She did my hair and was amazed on how she saved it. I should have come to her first from the very beginning. I have been coming to her for over a year now and ive never been disappointed. 2 of my cousins and my sister were impressed with my hair and have been coming to her too. She is chill, straight forward and so fun to talk to while she does my hair. Very funny how she is a horoscope expert hahah

I tried to set up and appointment with Karen Rivas. Heard good things about her. She was insanely rude when I tried to set up and appointment with her.

I came in to see Lisa Koh after I saw the groupon online. She told me she doesn’t do the groupon on weekends but could make an exception. (I’m starting to see a trend on other comments about her that she says that often). After texting her she told me not to purchase the groupon and pay her directly which is fine. I was greeted by a really nice man when I walked in, which is the only reason I’m giving 2 stars. I sat in the front for 30 minutes until she finally came out. I sat down for about 2 minutes and told her I wanted to get a dark brown from the already dark color I have. She looked at me in horror and said to do that I would have to do this and that and this and that and the prices would be more then doubled and I would be there for hours and she didn’t have time. I smiled and left. I called around, found an amazing place who got me in right away, less then half the price and did exactly what I wanted in an hour and a half.

I was really excited to finally get my hair done since it’s been a year since my last hairdo.
I booked an appointment with Lisa Koh and she was so sweet. She booked an appointment with me at 9:00am even though she doesn’t do Groupon deals on weekends.
I bought a Groupon deal for a hair cut, full highlights, and deep conditioning for $ 55. However, I still ended up paying extra because my hair is long, which cost $ 40 more and $ 30 more for lighter highlights. Personally, I don’t think the extra cost for highlights was fair, considering highlights should already be light, so why charge more to go lighter.
Anyways, Lisa Koh was genuinely sweet, hilarious, and a wise woman. I like her a lot. She’s such a great person to talk to.
However, I was disappointed in the end result of my new do. I feel as if I paid all that money to get a hair cut I’m only okay with and a balayage that looked no different from my old hairdo.
I’m a little disheartened because every time I go somewhere to get my hair done, albeit paying $ 200+ for a renowned place or using a Groupon for an unknown place, my hair never comes out how I want it.
For now, I’m going to just stick to places I know.

Lisa is one of the most professional hairstylist out there. Had a little bit of trouble and she kindly reached out and made sure that we were satisfied. Lisa definitely stands behind her work and it is very telling about the person. Making sure your customer is happy and satisfied is very important in the business game. At the end of the day your name is on someone’s hair, highlights, haircut etc. I had my hair done at a place (won’t mention another business name here) and had so many people asking where I got it done. I had to let them know the girls name. I’m sure after Lisa worked on my mom she will definitely be happy to let them know where she got her hair done, since she is super happy about it. Lisa is patient, focused and dedicated to getting your hair done the way you like it! My mom looks younger and seeing her smile after having her hair done by Lisa makes me happy! If you need someone to do an an awesome hair package for you-​root touch-​up, toner, highlights, haircuts etc. Lisa is your one stop shop! Thanks again Lisa! :)

Yes, I came in with purple hair that I purchased from a drug store but the color I had asked for was nothing near what I walked out with. I paid $ 500 for extensions that didn’t last a week and I also didn’t use the last pack with my stylist Nicholette promised she would reimburse me for. Which she has not and clearly will not do because she said «our business was done» because she was upset about my help review. I asked for an ombré/​balayage with light brown roots and gradually lighter on the ends. My mom is a hair dresser, I was raised in a salon therefore I know what can be done since this is not my first rodeo. Drugstore brand or not. She gave me BLACK hair which she referred to as a «level 5» which didn’t match the extensions. My hair looked awful and could not be straightened because there was no cohesion between colors. She also stated she couldn’t fix what later cost me $ 800 because my hair would break or fall out. News flash I went home, went to the drug store and fixed her mistake. My hair is now light ash brown on top and bleach blonde on the ends. My problem was wanting to go to a salon and feel like everyone else and get pampered like most girls do. Instead I paid even more and had to fix my own hair. What’s worse is she won’t even pay me back for the product that I PAID FOR that she did not use. Her latest excuse was that she could not return the extensions (all of the sudden) my guess is because she was mad about the 1 star review. I called the place where she purchased them, and guess what YOU CAN. NOT paying someone for product they purchased because your ego is bruised is not the way you do business. I suggest taking some classes and if you don’t think you can give the customer what they want or even come close, just simply don’t do it and rwfer them to someone who can. I am a very easy going girl and usually don’t have issues with people or a business. But this ended on a bitter note and I will absolutely never return to this establishment. I urge others to do your research or at least select a different «stylist».

I have been going to Joanna for a couple of year now and I am never disappointed. She has taken me from a dark chestnut brown to a light ombré blond. Anyone who has dark hair knows how hard it is to go lighter but Joanna always gets it done. She has done several techniques on my hair and uses only the best products to make my hair look/​feel healthy and smooth. She also gives great haircuts (doesn’t get scissor happy like most stylist) and amazing blow outs! To take it one step further Joanna also educates you on how to maintain the healthiness and color for several months!
The staff at moniques are super friendly and accommodating! I would recommend this place to anyone no matter where you live. I live in the Glendale area and would gladly drive out to tarzana just to get my hair done. Honestly I do not trust any other place or person to take care of my hair!

It was my Mother’s. Day gift from my husband to treat & pamper myself. The salon is spacious & modern. Lisa Koh did a fabulous artistic job on my highlights, cut & blowvdry !

Been going to Nicollete for a year now. She is professional and accommodating. She is easy to get along with and straight forward.
I appreciate that she tells me what will work with my hair and what won’t! Most people won’t tell you just so they can charge you more!
I’ve never been disappointed with her! I love my hair every time she does it and I wouldn’t trust my hair to anybody else!
Just went blonde and she explained to me that I needed to do it in steps so my hair wouldn’t get damage! She genuinely cares about her profession and her clients. Now most of my family goes to her.
So if you want to get hooked up with amazing cut and color Nicollete is your girl!

Nice salon. Pretty clean and has fruit infused water and coffee. Although I had changed hair stylists I went out on a limb and followed Nicolette from a well known chain because I wanted to support her in her small business. Her haircuts have always been pretty good, except for the occasional missed side burn. I had several hair cuts from Nicolette at Monique’s. At first, it was easy to schedule appointments. I would just text her and she was always available, plus she honored the prices that I paid at the chain store. Gradually things began to change. It became very difficult to schedule with her. The price increased from $ 24.99 to $ 45.00, with no notice. Her attitude changed. I really wanted a pixie cut for the summer and asked her opinion. She said it would look great, but when I explained to her that I could not afford to keep up blonde hair color and would get the cut without the color she started to get an attitude. First she told me that the picture I showed was of a blonde and I was a dirty blonde. (My hair is light to medium brown, not dirty blonde) She then told me that she would do it, but I might not like it. Then she told me that she could not do highlights in hair that short because it would look like spots.
I just feel like her attitude has changed now that she makes her own hours and is her own boss who gets to charge whatever she wants to. I feel like trying to scare me out of a cut I really wanted because I couldn’t afford the keep up of blonde hair color was her being greedy because she was trying to scare me into going blonde so she could charge more and I would then be a color client. I also think that because she had control over her hours, she became less available when she didn’t feel like having another client.
Well, I went back to my chain store, Floyd’s and saw Jason. He told me that the cut would look great with my color of hair and that he could do color or highlights at another time if I changed my mind. I told him what Nicolette told me about highlights being impossible with this haircut and he said that they would look great and was confused why the other stylist couldn’t do it. This is the best haircut I have ever had. I totally love it and am thankful that Jason supported me according to my needs instead of trying to scare me into an expensive service.
Sorry Nicolette! I think you have gotten a little too big for your britches, now that you have moved from Floyd’s to Monique’s. As for me, I’m sticking with Jason at Floyd’s in Encino. He never misses a sideburn, the prices are fair, he is supportive of new styles and he does a fantastic job. Oh, and he’s nice and humble, not stuck up and full of himself.

Recently came here on my 30^th birthday to treat myself. Got my eyebrows done by Lori, and she was very friendly and did a great job, the atmosphere was very relaxing too.
I then went to Karen for a gel manicure and regular pedicure, and they were great. I got so many compliments, and a week later they both still look good as new. She was friendly and professional.

I gave Lisa koh 3 stars when I just got my first highlight there a few days ago because I thought it wasn’t that bad. Now, I’m changing it to 1 star as I’m losing a bunch of severely damaged hair every time I comb my hair. I went there with a groupon deal but she charged me another 50 $ (almost 120 $ total) which I don’t think is cheap. I would never trust groupon deals unless it’s for a place that I know.
Stay away from her if you like your hair!

I went to Moniques Salon for the first time today to get my hair colored also for the first time. I saw Lisa’s groupon so I decided to try it out.
She was absolutely fantastic. She gave me a great consultation and kept checking in on me. We had some trouble with the color coming out because I forgot to tell her I put henna in it! But she fixed everything and it turned out perfect.
I would definitely recommend going to her for a haircut or color. She is wonderful and has 19 years of experience. The salon is also beautiful. Check out my pictures!

I am loving my new hair! I just had a haircut less than two months ago but it was rather dull. Seriously, it was the exact same haircut… just three inches less. They didn’t even touch the top half of my hair. And for $ 75? No, thank you.
So I randomly decided I was bored with my hair and wanted a cut and color RIGHT NOW. It wasn’t easy finding a stylist to fit me in on two hours notice but Lisa Koh was a sweetheart and took me in. This salon had awesome reviews so I decided to take a chance. I left my work during rush hour and kept texting her traffic updates. She insisted on waiting for me (really, such a sweetie) and I finally showed up an hour late. You never would have guessed by the way she treated me and took care of my hair. I wanted a color but she talked me into highlights instead. With the warm weather coming up, I figured why the hell not. She worked her magic on me and even hooked it up with a blowout afterwards. I. Friggin. Loved. It.
I got compliments on both the color AND the cut. I’m even rolling out of bed earlier in the mornings to make sure I have enough time to do my hair. The price point is more than what I normally pay but it’s worth it. I definitely plan on coming back and I’m so glad I randomly found this salon and Lisa.

This is officially my new nail spot, without a shadow of a doubt! I was seen without an appointment and was treated with upmost care and professionalism. Tracy was my manicurist, and she exceeded any and all expectations. She was very personable while meanwhile making sure I was nothing less than completely satisfied with the end product.
For service you can only hope for, and quality you wish for, there’s a one hundred percent chance that I will be recommending her and this place to all of my closest friends and family. Thank you so much, Tracy, I’ll see you very soon!
