Tolga was brought by a contractor to draw the plans for a house addition. He seemed reliable at first and we decided to hire him.
After he cashed the initial retainer ($ 1,900) everything went down hill.
He draw some plans without listening to our input. We asked for minor changes to the plans and he wanted to charge us more.
The communication was bad. We had to deal with him not replying emails, delays, attitude over the phone, missing deadlines, and excuses.
After two months waiting for the plans we had to cut our losses and terminate the contract. We lost $ 1,900, two months, got no plans, and compromised our loan. Not mentioning the stress.

I contacted a few structural engineers do draw plans for an un-permitted addition. The Engineer did a great job communicating and visited the job site the day after I made initial contact to scope the work. The proposal was reasonable and I chose TY Engineering over the three others that I’ve contacted. I was presented with a couple of options to bring the structure to code so I could choose an option. I received the plans back in less than 3 days and after a couple of revisions per city request, the plans were approved.
The engineer was always available to answer questions and provided status updates along the way. Absolutely great service at a fair price!
