We stopped in for a late breakfast last Sunday. We’d been there before in the summer and it was okay. In the summer they prop the front door open to let in fresh air. Now we know why; with the door closed the place smells like stale, old grease. My husband ordered the Hungry Man’s breakfast; I ordered two eggs over easy, home fries and toast. My husband’s eggs had a long brown hair stuck to the top of the yolk. The server apologized and returned the plate to the kitchen, returning with a fresh plate a few minutes later. By that time I had finished my eggs and toast and the few potatoes that were cooked. Most of the chunks were still hard. My husband started to eat his replacement order. As he began to take a bite of his toast he saw a whitish hair sticking up out of the buttered surface. Calling over the server again, he pointed out the hair. «Oh,» she said, «that looks like a hair from the grill brush. Sometimes the bristles start to break off and the brush needs to be replaced. I’ll show the cook.» Off she went with the toast. She returned a few moments later and told us that the cook was going to replace the brush and she was sorry. We got the bill. No discount, no personal apology from the manager or owner. Do yourself a favor – don’t go there. Even if you don’t get hairs and bristles in your food, you’ll probably have to wash and/or air out your clothes after you leave to get rid of the grease smell.

People don’t know what their missing at this old mom and pop place! From the the outside and inside its not too appealing, but if your looking for a decent breakfast place that’s cheap than this is it. Its much better than Friendly’s and Denny’s but a little below Ihop. They have also started remodeling which was long overdue and helps attract more people. The menu isnt much to choose from, but as cheap as everything is you cant complain much.
