Sad to see a beautifully decorated restaurant sitting empty on a Friday night during busy season. We’ve been meaning to try this local place for a while now and finally made it in. This is a nice place, and our server was friendly, but the food was only average in my opinion. It’s been my experience, that people will flock in droves to a hole-in-the-wall if it has good food at a good price. However,(as it appears to be the case here), if the food is not up to par, word will spread and a nice place will sit empty. We did really enjoy the queso with Chorizo in it a lot. The Rice, chips & salsa, and refried beans were all forgettable. The steak in my quesadilla was flavorless, to be honest. My wife enjoyed her super-stuffed burrito, but not enough to save the meal as a whole. We really wished the food was better, as we were rooting for this place. I’m not sure if we will return.

I like this place. Close to real Mexican food in area. Not the American or TexMex version.

I really wanted to like this place but it just wasn’t good at all. Everything was tasteless and the steak tips I got were so hard I could have broken my teeth on them. Lousy service and the place is always empty. Wonder how they stay open?

Don’t do it. I’m from out of town. A friend and I ate at Pico De Gallo last night because she knew the previous owners made good food and yummy margaritas. Our waitress did confirm new ownership. The smell is still there and quite pungent. I think it has to do with kitchen/oil rather than any sort of cleaning chemical. It’s gross, but of course we acclimated once the salsa arrived. Although the salsa didn’t look great, it tasted fine. Friend got queso, which was runny and by end of dish started to taste a bit funny.(Powder?) Our food arrived quick enough. Friend’s chimichanga was ok and my burrito was ok. What was NOT ok were the beans. They tasted icky at the first bite. The texture and taste totally made me think they were from dry mix. Asked waitress, she said no. They were nasty. No strawberry margaritas. And for the price you expect a much better plate of authentic Mexican food. Don’t do it.

Wanted to give this place a shot because I felt bad for them with all the construction surrounding them. One shot is all they get. We were literally the only customers in there. Would have thought they would have catered to us to make sure we’d come back, but not so. The food was mediocre at best and overpriced. Chip plate sat there empty after a couple visits from the waitress until I finally asked for some more. Food was mediocre, service was worse. And it smelled weird. Won’t be back.

My wife and I decided to give this place a shot today. When we walked in, we weren’t greeted for a solid two or three minutes. As we were getting ready to leave, we were greeted and sat. The server was polite and very helpful, the drinks were good and the menu was varied enough that I would happily try quite a few things. The complimentary chips and salsa were delicious I ordered the chalupa and my wife ordered the chimichanga. It came quickly and it looked stellar. Mine was absolutely delicious and the cilantro sauce was to die for. She thoroughly enjoyed hers as well. The rice was nice and fresh, everything was solid. Everything was less than $ 30 with the tip, so I could definitely see myself frequenting here. I also saw they have a lunch buffet, they might see me quite often if it’s anywhere near the quality of their entrees. My only real complaint would be waiting to be sat. From there, it was pretty good. Nothing to fly in the relatives over, but definitely a place I’d take friends out to dinner.

We passed this place on the way to meet a friend and figured we’d get some take-out since we hadn’t had a chance to have dinner yet. Upon walking in, the place was very nicely decorated, although there was a strange, unpleasant smell. I decided to order a #12 and a #13. I had to wait quite a long time, about 30 minutes. The worst of the whole order was the soupy refried beans, which were the most bland I have ever tasted. Actually, all of the food was bland; it was just the most pronounced with the beans. I had the fish tacos, which the menu described as having a mango salsa, but in actuality just had a few thin slices of mango fruit on the taco. Plain mango to me is not«mango salsa». They were topped with an odd-tasting sauce. They were edible, but not something I’d ever eat again. I tried a little of my husband’s chicken tamale and cheese enchilada. Bland again. The cheese enchilada was kind of weird because it seemed to be entirely made up of cheese. I don’t know why I couldn’t taste any tortilla. I like cheese, but I’d rather not just eat plain mouthfuls of melted cheese with no seasonings. My husband also had a crispy beef taco that I didn’t try. He agreed with me, that all of his food was bland. So even though the décor is nice, it’s not enough to ever bring us back.

Visited shortly after the opening, and wasn’t impressed. The previous owners served wonderfully fresh food. On this trip, I ordered the stuffed poblano pepper, and it was obviously purchased pre-stuffed and frozen. Yuck. The décor is lovely, but you can’t EAT décor. The prices are higher too. This restaurant needs to get back to fresh, and fast… there are too many dining options in the immediate area.

This place was a huuuge disappointment. After being a huge fan of the previous restaurant this one just doesn’t stand up. It sports a beautiful remodel but lacks the«family» feel of the prior establishment. The food also lacks. In everything. But especially taste. Hate to see a nice quaint family run place get pushed out for a more corporate feeling place. I’ll not be returning. Sadly.

Newly opened in place of La Yaquecita(sp?). The renovation is beautiful! Very clean and well decorated with tasteful art & furnishings. Haven’t tried too much as of yet but wanted to get this new local restaurant on the map. Grilled chicken salad was delicious. Fresh greens, grilled chicken breast, sliced tomatoes, carrots, red onions and crispy dried vegetables @ $ 8.99. Looking forward to trying the Chille Relleno and Carne Asada.
