Sky Nails

I went on Sunday. They were the only nail place open. They were supposed to open at noon, so I got there a little before, thinking they’d be busy. Noon came & went, 12:10, still nothing. At least 3 people pulled on the door, because the hours stated 12:00 to 7:00 on Sunday. So, I waited some more & thought I’ll give them until 12:30 & then i am leaving. I got out & waited in front of the door. I was walking back to my car @ 12:32 & they drive up. No apology or anything about the time. I had a full set of the acrylic with gel on top. Just like a bad comedy I’ve laughed at many times… I tell the lady (the only one working), my nail is crooked. her reply? You got it, ‘no honey, that’s your finger’. I am not even kidding. So I get passed off to the grumpy lady who had to work now, because they got busy, to put the gel on. Two coats later, with the gel not completely covering the acrylic, she tells me okay ‘you done’. I won’t go back & I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Yeah, I’m a dude. And I really don’t go to salons, I promise my man-​card is still intact.
But I was in this salon a couple weeks ago because I was tagging along with my friend, who is the owner’s son and just needed to drop by the shop. I didn’t expect to stay long, but the mom insisted I get a manicure and foot scrub. Well, I didn’t even know what to do since I’ve never had one, but I did it anyway, lol. She got one of her gals to setup the water machine for my feet and soaked my hands. After they were wet, I got my nails clipped, filed, lotioned up. For my feet, they used a special tool to scrub off all that dead skin. it felt awesome after it was done. All of this took maybe 30 minutes since the salon wasn’t busy.
English is not great, but they are friendly, hard-​working Vietnamese folks who will do everything they can to make sure you have the best experience. I’m rarely in Taylor, but the next time I drive through, I’ll be sure to stop by to say hi and maybe even indulge in another MAN-​icure :)
