One of the biggest mistakes I’ve ever made was using this company. I installed their system and are Birmingham, Michigan location. Right from the beginning, I had problems with the installation company. Once they couldn’t get me the quote when they told me I would have it, that should’ve been a red flag for me. Everything they told me that would happen, didn’t happen by when they said. In fact, months later, much of it still has not yet happened.
One of the partners during the installation inferred that I was a thief and I almost threw him off the property. His other partner, apologized for his behavior and explained that there is an illness in the family that was affecting him. But aside from the second partner being polite every step of the way, he could never get anything done when he said it would be, or even often at all in some cases.
Set that aside, and were not very happy with the quality of the system. It is called ACTi, which is fair at best, but for a few bucks more, we self installed a digital watchdog system at our other sites which is far superior to the ACTi. That being said, if we had superior service from XG, the system would have been fair (not that I would ever buy again knowing what I know now).
As far as the quality of the installation, there are exposed wires to which I’ve asked several times to have hidden, improper camera selection, etc. The most frustrating part was hearing «it will be done by Friday», and then three Fridays go by and it’s still not done.
I’ve been more than patient with this company. If you saw the email thread between us, you would be appalled.
The last email I had with him, he asked if we could discuss resolving the issues before I posted my comments on line. I said sure, I’ll hold off until we talk on Monday. That was three weeks ago and he’s never called! Comical, right? It would be if I didn’t spend over $ 15,000 with him.
