Louisville’s closest lake of considerable size. This is a full service marina. Boat slips for rentals, boat fuel, BOAT RENTALS!, food/​drinks, bait shop, etc.
Back to the boat rentals. Leeegit. It’s pricey for a pontoon getaway for a couple, but if you have a few families or a bunch of friends to split the boat rental with, it’s a really cheap summertime option to get out on the water. They have a few different sized rentals, but they’re all in good shape and fuel is included. No grills on the boat, and hide your booze in a coozie and the water police should leave you alone as long as you’re not a fool, and remain respectful to the waterways. I’ll spend many more days here this summer alone. Get the pontoon rental with a slide off the back!
