I’ve been coming to this small old-school deli ever since I was a child. The store changed owners in the early 2000’s and again just a few years ago. The new owners(since 2007?) have made a great-effort to bring-back the quality of the food and service, something that was lost during the previous régime. They have a very large variety of deli sandwiches, each delicious and hand-made to order. They put a decent amount of meat on, unlike many of the chain-restaurant sandwich places. If you enjoy sandwiches, the«Godfather» is a must-try item. It is about 30% more expensive than the other sandwiches on the menu, but comes stacked high with an assortment of premium meats, topped with fresh mozzarella. Gerdes’ has always been famous for its potato salads. While the taste is still slightly different from the original, it is still worth coming back for. Kudos to the new owners for bringing some quality back to this gem of a store.

Typical small town local deli selling cold cuts by the pound, a wide assortment of beverages, chips, and some grocery staples. Large sandwich counter and also a small liquor store. This place is known for their roast beef — some of the most tender, flavorful, perfectly cooked, thinly sliced roast beef you’ve ever tasted. They also make good sandwiches and deli salads and have daily lunch specials.
