Solid 3 stars. Their sushi buffet is work while. I believe its like 25 p/p for a good selection of premium rolls, apps and deserts. I don’t like that they charge 3.00 for delivery, so when I can I try to pick-up. Some recommendations are dansing roll, pink lady, creamy lobster and tricolor. I once tried a bento box with chicken teriyaki and was not impressed. Service is good and place looks clean

I enjoyed my lunch here today. I Was driving around while in the area looking for a spot to stop for lunch, came across Teaneck Sushi. I am surprised by the negative Unilocal reviews. I found the service friendly and fast, the place looked nice, sushi and gyoza were really good. Lots if smiles and thank you’s as I was leaving!

Before ordering read this story for your own good. This place is a disgrace. A man by the name of TOM who claims to be the owner is the only English speaking person in the place and is barley there and when I finally got a hold of him after calling many times threw out the day he ended up hanging up on me because I called to tell him I didn’t receive part of my order placed threw seamless web but because I’m not his customer I’m seamless webs customer that it’s not his problem and to call them. He also said he didn’t believe what I was saying was true. At this point after being accused right off the bat when eventho no one there speaks English and can take or read an order correctly I got mad and cursed and then was hung up on. So I called back and TOM the main man owner being all cool gave me the speech that as soon as I cursed he had the right to hang up on me. He also told me that again I was lying and that they don’t give credits or anything like that, mistakes happen things get forgotten no ones perfect but to attack me and sternly tell me no credits is alil shady and tells me it’s not the first time he’s dealt with this. Don’t get me wrong the food is good, nothing special, but the people there are the WORST! I’ve ordered many times in the past and it’s always taken a min of a hour and a half. I live a town or so away, I’m not in Japan incase your wondering. There rude, slow, speak no English and it turns out their thieves. Hey TOM guess what seamless has already given me back my money and were guess what! NICEABOUTIT! You have one thing going for yourself and it’s that you deliver which a lot of places don’t in NJ. Congrats but take some pride in being a man and read all your reviews and run a respectable establishment. No one thinks your service is any good. What you did was basically stealing, I paid for food I never received then you lied to me that you never had a seamless order from that day but poof you found it under a different name. I wonder if all your employees have their papers to not only work but be in the country? Maybe the next call should be to immigration? Your own delivery guy was asking me about a job when I had to explain to him about how the seamless ordering system worked when he tried to charge me A SECONDTIME upon arrival when I already had paid threw seamless web. THIEVES!!! Your in the HOSPITALITY business, act like it boss man TOM!!! Oh and the icing on the cake of all this, the three times I ordered from here at least one of the items was rotten in one way or another but I let that stuff go because things happen but to try to charge me twice, then charge me for items you didn’t give me and then the first words out of your mouth is that I’m the liar? HA! Enjoy the few months left that you will be open because no place that’s ran by a low life con artist such as yourself can stay open for any real length of time. I don’t know how the others were able to leave no starts but the only reason your getting one is that Unilocal won’t allow me to post unless I give some kind of rating. In my mind your place gets a «F» and so do you Tom! First off I ordered multiple times because I just moved here from NYC and when I did get the food it usually was somewhat decent. The reason it took 4 days was I was calling for 4 days and you were NO where to be found(shocker) and you have NO one working for you that speaks English. Maybe a call to INS can sort some stuff out? What do you think Tom? Let’s explain something, your in what’s called the hospitality business pal so I cant care less if I called alil before you were closing. Ever hear the customer is always correct? Guess not because no one you work with speaks English period. Anyways it dosent matter what time of your operating hours I call because your«open». Alil advice, quit delivery because you suck at it! Also not lying to your customers is kind of important. There was times i waited 3 hours for your SoSo food. Enjoy the new year because if this is how you run your«buffet» I’m sure you won’t be seeing 2017. Oh and don’t be a d’ick to your customers that’s alil important in your business don’t ya think!?!

I really enjoyed this place! It’s A LOT of food for what you pay. Which I believe is $ 22.95 on a Friday night. Their hot and sour soup was great! We had scallion pancakes, general Taos chicken, Kani salads and our favorite roll which was the bayside roll. I would absolutely go back. The only down fall is that the staff barely speaks any English. Otherwise, very good!

Oversized manager/owner completely indifferent to customer needs and takeout wait times. When brought to his attention, was told to mind my own business. Even followed me into the street, threatening me with physical violence. If not for coincidental presence of a Teaneck cop, would likely have been squashed. Will never, ever return to this place.

I decided to try the $ 14 lunch buffet. Service was horribly slow. I was the only person in the restaurant and it took 45 minutes. Sushi hand rolls came with barley a sliver of fish and was 90% rice. The second time I ordered I asked for more fish and way less rice. The hand rolls came out exactly the same. By the end of meal I had a large pile of rice(2 – 3 cups) stacked on the side. Sushi tasted mediocre at best. I would highly recommend Sushi X all you can eat in Ridgewood over this place. I will not being coming back.

This is my favorite sushi buffet in the area. Definitely the best value. The regular menu for non-buffet is good too and a very good value. Great fresh sushi and the other dishes are good too. My only complaint is the wait staff. They can’t speak English. I’m not just talking about an accent here. They are unable to understand basic questions. And the weird thing about this is the guy that appears to be the owner is an American guy who speaks perfect English. So why does he hire very recent immigrants who are unable to properly do their job? Is he paying these people the legal minimum wage?

AWFUL. The waiters are very confused and don’t understand much English. My friends and I went there for sushi and they forgot to put our sushi order in, not once but twice!!! The owner did absolutely nothing but sit in the front on his Laptop. Horrible service ! How do you forget to put orders in… What did they think we wanted a place to just sit and stare at each other. I will never go there again.

It is a nice place, fairly clean, and the fish is fresh. I’m giving this place two stars because service is very slow and drinks are poor. It seems like every time I come for dinner, I’m waiting about 30 mins for our first meal. I understand when it’s packed. But, when there’s only two or three other tables of 3 – 4 people? Often enough, we’ll pass up on this place if we don’t feel like waiting for food. Especially if you sit all the way in the back, you’ll find yourself flagging down the staff. Sometimes the kitchen items we order doesn’t even come out. Found myself asking where my kani salad or soup on different occasions. Refills aren’t often. I stopped ordering water because it tasted really weird last time I got it. Tea is never hot. At best, it’s warm. Yes, I’ve asked for hot tea because it was lukewarm. The lemonade was okay. Overall, $ 25 for all you can eat sushi is great. It’s the service that kills it for me.

I was starving and in the mood for sushi. Didn’t feel like sitting in the office, so started searching and found Teaneck Sushi buffet, which is about 10 minutes from my office. From the outside it’s a nice looking place, very easy to find right on teaneck avenue. If there is no parking on the street, or if you’re like me and drive past it, no worries, there is a lot at the back. Inside it’s a pretty standard fare restaurant. A bit on the darker side, but very clean. They have a bunch of different options, including a standard menu, but also lunch special all you can eat and dinner special all you can eat. The good part is, you’re welcome to order off of the dinner menu at any time, just so long as you’re ok with the somewhat higher price($ 24 for all you can eat sasihimi!). Their appetizers are for the most part ok, not great, and fairly small. Was not really a fan of anything on the first page of the all you can eat menu, except the Kalbi which was excellent, and horribly horribly detrimental to my overall diet. I also tried three of the dinner rolls, and while none of them really stood out, all were quite acceptable, easily on par with what you’d get in most regular sushi places. The sashimi is where they hit the nail on the head. Maybe it was my luck, but it seemed very fresh, and the presentation was excellent. While most places try to present a nice plate, the chefs here go the extra mile on plating and it shows. I think I found my new lunch place. Will definitely be headed back here with a bottle of wine in tow.

Mediocre at best. I went, despite some of my friends’ words to avoid this place. I guess their hyping it down a lot made it seem better than it was. Knowing that, I went in with lowered expectations and this place managed to beat my expectations by a slight margin. The all you can eat option isn’t a bad deal, for about $ 24 a person. Included are kitchen items, sushi/sashimi, and some special rolls. The kitchen items were actually not bad. i didn’t eat any of it, waiting for the sushi, but from what i saw, they looked like they’re worth it. The sushi comes out and of course, i’m a little disappointed. The sushi pieces bareelyyyyy have any fish on them with tons of rice. Kind of expected, but the saving grace was that they have the option to get sashimi! huzzah! the overload of rice on the sushi pieces are compensated by the sashimi pieces, thank god. the special rolls were ok, not all that special. Not a bad place for ayce sushi, just order lots of sashimi with a few sushi pieces. The fish itself wasn’t the best, but i’ve had worse. Another thing to remember is that it’s BYOB, which makes it alllll better.

The food was very good and the $ 23.99 price for AYCE was well worth it! It was a slow Saturday evening so the food came out quickly but not so fast that you felt rushed or couldn’t enjoy what was already in front of you. The wait staff was attentive. I do think that they should give guests the menu so you can have an explanation of what each roll is. We didn’t think to ask but will next time. We enjoyed chicken, crab, and shrimp tempura as appetizers and for dinner, several different rolls to share including the Pink Lady roll with lobster. Delicious! We had two of them! The only problem was the soda. The unsweetened iced tea had no flavor. They replaced it for me twice with a Coke but neither had much flavor and were flat. The chocolate ice cream for dessert was fine but the green tea ice cream didn’t have much flavor. I’m not sure what the liquor laws are in Teaneck but they only sell wine by the bottle, not the glass. We did enjoy the food and will definitely go back!

It’s unfortunate that their good food is put to waste by the poor staffing issues. So. Slow. Please come here if you have three hours! They kept forgetting our orders. That were written down on the paper we gave them!!! It was so frustrating. Everyone in this restaurant is frustrated because we paid 25 $ per person and we were disappointed. Sigh. Bottom line: if you were the only one in the restaurant… Then this place is great.

DONOT Order for Pickup. — they took too long — they got the order wrong I came into the restaurant itself to order for Pick-up. It should be easy already since you have to just wait there until they’re ready. I ordered 1 roll of spicy salmon, 1 roll of crunchy tuna, 1 roll of eel avocado &1 rolls of kamikaze. Took them 30 minutes to prepare. And we had to remind them of our order because it was taking awhile. So finally I get it, and what’s in the bag? .2 rolls of crunchy salmon and 1 roll spicy tuna… Go to East Japanese instead. They’re quicker with orders whether it’s dine-in or pickup.

This is my first time I’ve been in this place, and I think it will be my last one, the waitress didn’t know what she was talking about, her communications skills was very poor and the service wasn’t great either. It is a very expensive place for kids, they charged me for my 10 years old boy as an adult, even that he just ate chicken teriyaki. My daughter that is 3 years old didn’t eat that much neither, and I paid a half of price for her. They advertise as a buffet, and happen to be that you have to order from a sheet they handle to you at the table, but there is not any salad bar that you could go and grab what you want to eat. A good thing from it, is that the food was prepared at the time of your order, it was hot and fresh. They will have to make some changes if they want to provide what they advertise.

Tom, with all due respect, for restaurant businesses or any retailers, a customer’s expectation toward a given establishment is to have consistency(better yet, improvement) regardless of your daily operation. In another word, we could care less on how you operate, we just want to get what we come here for. I went to 972 Teaneck Road, Teaneck Sushi Buffet. If that’s your restaurant, then I am not reviewing the wrong place. Your servers did not understand English, hardly understood my simple requests. In regards of your incompetent Sushi staff, the service was extremely slow and both chefs were having trouble keeping up with orders. A lady(Not sure who she was, did not dress as a Sushi chef) had to jump in and rescue. Lastly, Tom, I wish you best of luck with your business because you will need it moving forward…

Driving through the area, my boyfriend and I got hungry and came across this restaurant. While the service was decent, the waitress was friendly, the food was anything but fresh. My boyfriend did the sushi buffet while I ordered from the regular menu and ordered the sushi entrée dinner. My meal was served with a choice of soup or salad and I decided to go with miso soup… BIGMISTAKE. Not only did the soup smell of cleaning dish soap but clearly tasted of it, I could not spit it out fast enough. The actual meal came and my boyfriend sushi rolls were already falling apart on the plate before he had a chance to even pick them up, clearly poorly rolled and with no effort to fix it for presentation. My dinner on the other hand, let’s just say it pasted it’s peek of freshness. While it was«servable» it was far from enjoyable, and by far one of the worst cuts of fish(so thin that you can practically see through it, and a HUGE wad of rice). Also while walking out I took a peek at the fish at the sushi bar, I recommend cleaning the glass. Its very unappealing. Overall if your driving by, keep driving.

As far as sushi buffets go, Teaneck Sushi Buffet is the best place I’ve been to. I’ve already been there twice in two weeks. Thanks Unilocal! Unlike other buffets like Minado and Ichi Umi, this place is made to order. I especially like the fact that I can order just sashimi if I want and fill up on just that. Fifty pieces of sashimi later, I’m satisfied! Plus the sushi has large pieces of fish relative to the amount of rice. I also liked the seaweed salad, katsu, and soups. I’ve still not tried everything on the menu so that gives me more reason to go back. Probably make it a weekly ritual :)

As soon as I entered the establishment I was caught off guard by how laid back the atmosphere was. The surrounding area was tightly knit with booths that were aligned throughout the walls and some seating was place in the center of the room. It was small but quaint. This was a Sunday night and I saw family guy playing on the television screen while other customers were quietly enjoying their meal in comfy pajamas or sweats. My best friend, brother and I were immediately seated to a booth by the window and we started checking off foods that sounded delicious. This style of menu was reminiscent of how sushi x also allows others to order their meal when it comes to the buffet.
When we finished ordering, our meal came to us a few plates at a time. First the shrimp tempura then the vegetable pad Thai, sushi, tofu, shumai, teriyaki, and vegetable tempura came all at once. We were overwhelmed by the abundance of food that we ordered, but vowed to devour every morsel that was on those plates. It was safe to say that the meal was fantastic! I couldn’t have have asked for a better experience. The waiters and waitresses kindly tended to our services and cleared the empty plates from our table as well as filled up our waters. The environment was clean and the scent of food delighted our nostrils. Overall, I felt like this was a great place to eat a sushi buffet! The sushi was fresh and savory along with everything else that we ordered! This place beats sushi x tenfold!

Let me preface this by admitting that I’m not a sushi connoisseur. I enjoy it very much, but I’m not really an expert. That being said, I really liked this sushi buffet. For like $ 23, there are a TON of options. Lots of appetizers and a lot of rolls. The fried calamari was the only thing I didn’t really like(too fried and rubbery). All the rolls were delish and tasted fresh. The service was pretty good. Food came out in good time, water got refilled, we got a bottle opener for some wine we byob’d, etc. Would def return.
