This restaurant is beyond amazing. The food is made from scratch and made to order. The ingredients are inspiring and seasonal… The plating is beautiful.

Wonderful appetizers/dinner/dessert tonight. So many wonderful new dishes and flavors We always have the fried brie, crab cake and ginger wontons and also tried the bronzed gnocchi with poached egg. It was absolutely delicious. Wish we had tried the lobster pierogi after seeing the picture posted. The scallops were wonderful as always but I loved the preparation/presentation of the fingerling potatoes, spring asparagus, mushrooms, pancetta and ohhh the lemon fennel relish. I actually considered licking the plate, I really did. Finally, the strawberry shortcake(with barely a hint of rhubarb) was beyond words. Chef Alan, what have you done to those strawberries this year? What ever it is, keep doing it. Flourless chocolate cake and chocolate ice cream are always a hit. Garrett was wonderful and Bob is always so warm and friendly. Hmmmm, I wonder what I am doing for dinner tomorrow???

What a lovely, elegant restaurant — so worth the trip. Antique shops nearby! The petite green salad & black kale(winter selection) are faves, as is the crab cake & bacon wrapped chicken with spatzele.

This is a pretty good restaurant. THe venue is large and looks as though it would be good for groups. American fare food with an upscale feel. Started off with the ginger beef wanton– these were very good but a little on the salty side. I had the potato chowder(pretty good but very rich) and the petite greens salad for which I thought the vinaigrette was delicious. My fiancé had the duck breast which was also delicious. The service was great– friendly and prompt. It was a pleasant evening and I enjoyed the restaurant, however the food was just above average. It is pretty pricey with entrees ranging $ 20 – 30 each, so the food that was delivered left a little more to be desired. I would come back to try again though.

My mom suggested we visit Evans Street Station for lunch. I had never been. I was really surprised at how nice this restaurant was! Techumseh is pretty small, usually I drive straight through. Who knew that they hiding this classy little gem! We decided to sit on the patio because it was such a nice day. Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive — our drinks were always full. I had the brie & prosciutto sandwich — with the creamy brie and the sweet apple butter, it was delicious! I also enjoyed the petite greens salad. Nothing fancy, but you can tell they have nice quality ingredients that speak for themselves. The balsamic vinaigrette was lovely with the parmigiano and shaved pear. I’d head back here any day!

Superb fine dining, with a flair for Gopal ingredients. The hanger steak, and tobacco onions our favorite go to unique simple flavors. Service is always outstanding and homemade ice cream’s and sorbets are perfect

We stopped in last night to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and aided with a gift certificate we went all in with the Chef’s tasting menu. We started by getting some cocktails, a nice lemon and lemongrass drink for me, and I think it was a pumpkin martini for my wife. We both liked the drinks. The first food to come out was some white bread and butter. It was really good, but we had to limit the amount we ate because of the sheer amount of food to come. The tasting started with a tiny amuse-bouche, which is a bite sized appetizer. It consisted of, if I remember correctly, spaghetti squash and spinach. I hate spaghetti squash, but I liked this. As a compliment to the chef, this is a theme that played out many times in this tasting. Next was an amazing salad that included black kale, apple slices, roasted sweet potato, some crumbled cheese, and speck, which is like an extremely thin sliced prosciutto. I don’t like sweet potato, but damn it did they make me like it here. Following that was one I looked forward to, a jumbo sea scallop and pappardelle noodles. The scallop was cooked to amazing perfection, which in my experience is hard to find. That was impressive. The noodles and included sauces were great. The next tasting was a buttercup squash pierogi with duck confit and wilted spinach. I hate squash, and this combo made it OK, though this was probably my least favorite of the tastings. Being my least favorite doesn’t make it bad at all, as it was still above average. The top entrée followed, a char crusted beef tenderloin. It was ordered medium and delivered closer to medium rare, which I’m glad it was. The chef probably knew it was better that way and made me eat it right. It was amazing and worked well with the whipped potatoes, creamed leeks, and rosemary reduction sauce. To top it off we had fresh apple fritters with a house made apple pie ice cream. The apples in the ice cream were one of the only drawbacks of the entire meal, frozen super cold and hurting my teeth like chewing a Popsicle. I picked around them and remained happy. The meal was amazing. Unfortunately it took 2 ½ hours to be served the entire thing, but I blame that on us choosing to do it on a Saturday night.

Went for lunch during Applumpkin with a girlfriend. Service was excellent, we sat out back in the autumn sunshine, beautiful. Menu was interesting. Friend had a burger and fries. She said the burger was good, tried the fries, they were… different…she really liked them, but more than one would have been too much rosemary for me. I had the quiche, which was full of veggies and served with fruit. It was dark in some spots, a few too many spots, making the top and edges tough. A little over done, that’s why 4 stars instead of five.

I have been meaning to try this highly recommended restaurant. Finally made it out to ESS this weekend. Started with a signature cocktail, grapefruit and basil, yum! The menu looked awesome and my guest and I decided to share a few items. We got the Brie appetizer and polished off every bite, amazing! The amuse bouche was tasty as well with arugula, fennel and sweet orange. We had the rich carrot ginger soup and wontons as well. My favorite was our salad. The tomato and beet gem. The capers were deep fried and made the dish out of this world! We finished with sharing the Beef tenderloin entrée. Seriously the most tender cut of meat I have ever encountered, cooked perfectly. The service was top notch; friendly, polite, attentive, yet non obtrusive. Atmosphere was warm and welcoming with class and elegance. The executive chef and manager were seen on the floor on a several occasions checking on guests and welcoming them, a great sign about the care and passion they have for their craft/work. I look forward to my next visit. Worth the drive from Ann Arbor.

What an amazing class«A» place! Beth, one of the owners is always there to greet you with a smile and a warm welcome and goes above and beyond to accommodate her guests. They have an open kitchen where you can watch her partner Chef Alan work his culinary magic, I like kitchens that are this way as I feel it shows they take pride in their work and have nothing to hide. I love that I can go there for a special formal occasion but also be able to go after work for a casual Happy Hour martini and some of their amazing hors d’oeuvres on the patio. They are also very reasonably priced for the 5 star food & service they never cease to deliver every time I visit!

This is the best Restraunt in Lenawee County-period. We have been here over a dozen times over the past few years and never been disappointed. Oh sure you can pay less and possibly get larger servings, but for a great meal at competitive prices ESS can not be beat.

Happy Hour — Oberon event. I met a girlfriend at the bar for the happy hour and for the Oberon event. We had a bottle(or two) of the rose sparkling wine, toasted honey martini, and had to have an Oberon somewhere in there. Getting there at 3pm was a good choice, as the place quickly filled up by 5pm, though we enjoyed having the bartender’s undivided attention until the rush. Friendly and knowledgeable, she was great with the recommendations. We ordered two rounds of appetizers, as they are half off for Happy Hour. Panko brie, crab cake, Ginger Beef won tons, and gnocchi. Beautiful presentations and quality food, but there was just something about each dish that, we felt, took the flavor profile a little too far. Little tweaks and the food would be outstanding. Seems people love or hate the food, there is no in between. Well, I am going to be an in between for now. Brie — was perfect, no comment there. Get it, it’s a great appetizer. Crab Cake — the potato straws gave a nice texture to the bite, but was cumbersome and detracted from the delicate flavor of the crab cake. The aioli on the bottom of the plate was too strong and conflicting too. Crab cake itself was excellent, large and flavorful. The pile of potato straws holds it up off the aioli so we could avoid it. Won tons — Were dry, filling needs fat for flavor and moisture inside the won ton. LOVED the ginger flavor. Gnocchi — the dumplings themselves were perfect. It takes real talent to make good gnocchi and chef must have talent in spades, back in the kitchen. This was my favorite. The mushrooms and quail egg on top really make the dish. The asparagus purée took it over the edge though. I would still order it again, but hope for a tweak. We decided to cash out and let others have our seats, as the bar was four people thick by 5:30. The bill was $ 115, and we knew what we were getting into and really enjoyed our visit. We will be back, but early in the day again, and perhaps when the patio opens this summer.

The description of 3 stars on Unilocal is a-ok, and that’s what I felt this restaurant was. Atmosphere: relaxed, trendy, great. Cool artwork. Service: prompt and polite but not overbearing. Major plus. Worth mentioning: they have a great gluten free menu! Food: I was a little disappointed, I’ll be honest. The«jumbo» sea scallops weren’t that big, and I thought the dish was a little overpriced as a result. In addition, they were probably the most over-cooked sea scallops I’ve ever had. The noodles and arugula on the side were fantastic(though the arugula was a tad heavy) and made the dish not a total loss, but I was really disappointed by the scallops. All around an a-okay experience. If I went back and got a better dish, I would probably bump this up to a 4-star review.

A very elegant menu for ‘Foodies’. A ‘bit’ of each. If looking to taste great culinary artistry, this is the place. If you are looking for a place to ‘fill you up’, this isn’t. For Foodies, this place is 5 Star.

We found this restaurant on the Unilocal app. The menu looked interesting so we made reservations and decided to try it out. I had the shared Antipasti as first course and the special pan seared striped bass with sea green beans as my entrée. Both were excellent. Had tea with the meal; the hot water could have been a bit hotter and I would have liked it if the restaurant offered stevia as a sweetener. Nose level was about average. We could hear each other most of the time. Nice touch was a free coat check.

You won’t be disappointed stopping here. Food and service was very good. Parking is the most difficult in this little town but you can enjoy the walk looking at all the little stores and shops.

We went here last week for a little birthday lunch action. We usually go to Mac’s in Saline b/c they offer the nice free meal on your birthday. This year we decided on something different — and we’re all glad that we did. The place is pretty big, but there is a nice fireplace in there to keep you warm in the winter(and we needed it — boy it’s been cold!). I had a half sandwich w/their soup. I ended up with the special sandwich(turkey rueben) and winter squash soup(soup of the day). They were both excellent, and well worth the $ 10. My dad just got the turkey rueben, which comes w/fries(these weren’t the best — too soft and not hot enough). The pulled pork sandwich was also excellent. The cole slaw on there is super fresh. Our waitress was as cute as can be too… attentive and nice. Filled our water w/o us having to ask. They have 4 or 5 Michigan beers on tap. They have a bunch of other beers in bottles too. The wine list is decent, but there really needs to be some $ 5 glasses on there. Maybe $ 6 would be okay, but the cheapest one I saw was $ 8 — and it went up from there. That’s just a little too high-priced for me. Overall lovely place. Again, it amazes me that places like this exist in such small towns(same w/Clinton Inn). Really great food for being in such a small town. Very homey and welcoming, and a little on the higher end side, but worth the cash. FYI: The parking(and entrance) are in the back.

One of the best meals I’ve ever had. Was in Adrian on business and was told I couldn’t leave without visiting Evan Street Station. I am glad I didn’t. Started with a pumpkin pie martini. The concept was good and the drink was well made, it was just a little too creamy for me. Started the meal with the Shrimp and Mushroom Risotto. 2 pieces of perfectly cooked shrimp on top of spinach, butternut squash and bacon. Shrimp was seasoned wonderfully and the Risotto melted in my mouth. Main course was Dijon Crusted Pork Tenderloin. I can only describe it by saying it was absolutely delicious. The honey reduction was out of this world. Ended with the homemade pineapple upside down cake. Cake was delicate and moist with good chucks of pineapple. This meal was so great I would probably get the same thing if I returned. And I will certainly return if I’m back to Adrian on business.
